Well....during our stay in VA...we stopped at Seldon Market and went to The Stockpot for breakfast. The look is diner and cafe as there is a large counter top and about 5 booths. There is also seating upstairs (I didn't go up there...bad back). We had to wait about 20 minutes before we were seated. And they only had seating at the counter available when our buzzer went off. The server at the counter was very friendly and did a good job. We were saddened to know that by 11:00 they had run out of their home fried potatoes and the next batch wouldn't be ready for another hour...of course we may have been able to get some as it took over 40 minutes for our food to arrive. The cooks and kitchen staff were hustling and working hard to get the food out so I couldn't understand why it took so long. I gave food allergies so I was really looking forward to the potatoes as I had limited options of what I could eat. So I had scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. I wasn't supposed to eat a biscuit but I did because I knew the eggs and sausage would leave me hungry. Hubby ordered the Piña Colada French Toast, Turkey Sausage and Scrambled Eggs. I must say that the food was tasty and cooked very well. Hubby never got his eggs, so we asked them to remove them from the bill. They offered us a free dessert from the selections but we passed on it. I would definitely give them another visit if I'm in the area as I think the home fried potatoes are going to haunt me until I taste them! I do t know if I would recommend this place for people with children just because it's kind of small. A great spot to take your S/O or meet up with a (small) group of friends. They may be able to accommodate larger groups upstairs

We stopped here after visiting our son at the children's hospital nearby and wanting something for a late lunch. They closed at 4 and we got here at 3PM. The staff was quick to assist, take our order, bring our drinks. The restaurant was bright and although smaller it was actually spacious. Lots of seating and there was an upstairs area as well. I ordered some sort of breakfast skillet that was delicious. I really enjoyed it. It was fresh and filling. My husband tried their breakfast biscuit sandwich and he loved it. He loved the peanut butter smoothie and I tried their peanut butter bar to go. Overall; great experience. We would absolutely come back.

This was the most delicious food I've had. There is tons of flavor. It's Southern comfort with a healthy twist. You will leave feeling full. Inside is super cute and they are quick on their feet. This place is on to something. Don't sleep on stockpot!

I stopped by here for an impromptu brunch after wondering around downtown Norfolk. I was greeted upon entry and seated at the counter without any wait time on a weekend! My server was pleasant and I liked the atmosphere. I liked that there were some specials in addition to the regular menu items. The drink I had was absolutely amazing-the tropical sweet tart! My skillet was really good too, I do t recall the name, but it had potatoes, black beans, Turkey sausage, eggs and guacamole and their chili topping. The meal was flavorful.

Very convenient to the downtown hotels They have many items labeled gluten free or gluten free option Plume st breakfast : I liked that it is red peppers only ( no green. Hooray!) but the spinach was very sparse. Southwest scramble -- the turkey sausage worked well in this as in crumbled nicely. We ordered our eggs scrambled instead of the suggested over easy and enjoyed it all mixed. Not too many potatoes-- good ratio

Stockpot is a small restaurant located inside Selden Market that consistently delivers quality food and drinks. The space itself is compact, but there is additional seating upstairs. I sat at the bar during this visit. I've been here several times before, and this place definitely gets packed. That said, I arrived at 10am on a Sunday and had no wait to sit at the bar. The establishment is very clean, and they also have a section of baked goods that appear to be made in house. I've had cookies and slices of cake from here on previous visits and they have always been excellent. For drinks, I ordered a coffee, the Sweet Tart Mimosa from their winter mimosa rotation, and the Sorcerer Katschei from the Virginia Arts Festival mimosa rotation. The coffee was really good. It was hot, strong, and exactly what I wanted in the morning. The mimosas had unique flavors and were delicious. They also serve them in large glasses, which I appreciated. For food, I ordered The Lloyd, which is their modern take on biscuits and gravy, along with a side of turkey sausage. The dish was very flavorful and filling, and it came out quickly. Service was fast, attentive, and friendly without being overbearing. I keep meaning to come back for their weekly ramen night but somehow always forget. One of these days I'll make it happen.

On a day I wasn't feeling my best, I ordered delivery and it was a super easy process. The food arrive quick and fresh. I ordered the chicken noodle soup with slight modifications and the Island Paradise smoothie. There's no picture of the soup because I devoured it. It hit the spot! There were a lot of green onions so I did scrape them out and for the 8oz only a small amount of chicken. I do wish there was more chicken. Flavor wise though it was great. Never had dark noodles but they were delicious. The smoothie is great. I wouldn't change a thing. I look forward to actually going to the location but it was perfect for a quick lunch.

Stopped by The Stockpot in Norfolk for breakfast on New Year's Eve before catching a flight, and honestly it was the perfect sendoff. I was warmly welcomed in as it was 30 degrees out and the menu immediately felt comforting yet refreshingly unfamiliar, full of items I don't usually see back home in LA. Exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble into while traveling. I sat at their bar top and tried the toasty of the day, which somehow tasted like an Uncrustable pepperoni pizza in the best possible way...crispy, nostalgic, and unexpectedly fun. For my main, I went with the OG fried rice, and it absolutely delivered: flavorful, satisfying, and cooked just right with little bits of crispy rice. It felt hearty without being heavy, which is perfect before a flight. Warm vibes, unique menu, and food that hits the spot. The Stockpot made my New Year's Eve morning feel special. I'd happily come back the next time I'm in Norfolk.

If you're only in Norfolk for a few days like I was, finding a place that actually sticks with you can feel like luck--but The Stockpot is exactly that kind of find. I ended up ordering the southwestern skillet with a lamb burger, and honestly, it was one of those meals you don't forget. The flavors were just... dialed in. Everything tasted intentional--perfectly seasoned, balanced, and comforting without being heavy. And the lamb? That slight gaminess added just the right amount of depth and richness to the dish. It didn't overpower anything--it completed it. What really stood out to me, though, was how effortless the whole experience felt. The staff were genuinely friendly--not in a scripted way, but the kind that makes you feel welcome right away. And the service was quick, which I appreciated since I was trying to make the most of a short trip. There's something about this place that feels like a local gem you almost don't want to share--but at the same time, you know people need to know about it. If I had more time in Norfolk, I would've gone back without hesitation. It's the kind of spot that makes you wish your trip was just a little bit longer.

I'm so in love with this little gem. Service is always amazing, food is always fresh, and don't forget to try a tea as you wait! The location is perfect, something out of a hallmark movie, so no matter the occasion or lack there of be sure to stop by.

My little birthday treat to myself. This definitely hit the spot. Ramen night is the best at the Stockpot. I ordered the Stockpot Shio and the blackberry whiskey smash. Everything was perfect. Definitely my favorite night here.

TLDR: Phenomenal. Fresh. Delicious. Large menu with numerous choices ranging from Mediterranean to Asian to American. We had the Turkish breakfast and also the Bui Bowl with turkey sausage and lamb burger add ons in addition to a rosemary biscuit that we split. Everything was incredibly flavorful and fresh. Service was also great and we managed to have a great meal with our 1.5 year old.

The restaurant was fairly empty, with only three other tables occupied, so we were surprised by the length of the wait. Our two canned Sapporos didn't arrive until about 30 minutes after ordering. The shrimp sandwich took approximately 45 minutes, and the Vang rolls arrived after about an hour. After waiting an hour, we were informed that the garlic shrimp for our garlic noodles was unavailable, despite it being part of our original order. Unfortunately, the Vang rolls were so salty that we couldn't finish them. Throughout the meal, our water glasses were never refilled, and there was little communication about the delays or unavailable menu items. After roughly 90 minutes of waiting, multiple delays, and learning that several items were unavailable, we decided to pay for what we had received the two Sapporos, the shrimp sandwich, and the Vang rolls, which came to about $70. Perhaps we visited on an off night, but the combination of the slow service, poor communication, unavailable menu items, and disappointing food quality made for a frustrating experience. The both of us, well three of us if you count the dog, enjoyed our meals. I went with the doggy-style version of the Chicken n Waffles. This take on the classic dish included: a bacon-infused waffle, fried chicken thigh, sausage gravy, candied bacon, and bourbon maple syrup. Overall, I enjoyed the dish with the small exceptions that the batter made the waffle really heavy for my personal tastes. I'm more of a fan of light, fluffy waffles. Unfortunately, I did not know this at the time, but the kitchen puts the syrup on the waffle for you. Personally, I like to add my own syrup because I do not like too much syrup on my waffles (and pancakes). However, those two minor issues did not take away from the dish. Also, the other aspects of the dish made up for those minor inconveniences. My partner ordered the Pongo, which was served with a fried chicken thigh, cheddar biscuit, scrambled egg, sausage gravy, house potatoes. If you are a fan of Bloody Marys, the restaurant has a selection of 4 or 5 interesting Bloody Marys. I went with the Porky's Revenge, which had bacon-infused vodka, Zing Zang Bloody Mary mix and a bacon-dusted rim. Both of us were quite pleased with our selections. Also, come here hungry because the serving sizes are quite large. Because of the large serving sizes, I thought the prices were relatively fair compared to other places the area. Actually, I would change "fair" to "generous". Both of our dishes were about 17 bucks with the 4ish dollar 'doggy style' add on. Generally speaking, our waitress was really on the ball. Although we were sitting outside, she frequently checked in us and was very professional while being funny. Hopefully, we can make another stop here during our next Va. Beach vacation adventure.

And trust me, it lives up to the name. Lee Lee's Comfort Cuisine is tucked on 43rd & Jefferson, right near Chik-A-Sea on 44th. I had the pleasure of visiting & talking with the owners -- beautiful people with amazing energy & welcoming spirits. The 1st time I went, I ordered the Salisbury steak (or chop steak -- call it what you want). It was two PCs of meat for $19.99 and came with two sides & a piece of cornbread. I chose the mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, & added a side of green beans. Baby... listen -- the Salisbury steak had substance! Not that soft, fluffy stuff like Piccadilly's. It was meaty, juicy, & seasoned just right. The sweet potatoes were sweet but not too sweet, & the mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy, & made with love. Now the green beans? I was shocked -- no pork in them, but they were still full of flavor! You'd swear somebody grandma put her foot in 'em. They made me want 2nds! I told my people about it, & the very next day I was back -- got pork chops for my mom, Salisbury steak for my sister, and fried chicken for my friend. And just like b4, everything hit. One day I tried to stop by Piccadilly's for their 2 for $30 deal, but the line was out the door. I ended up back at Lee Lee's, and I was so glad I did. That day, she had roasted chicken with cream of mushroom sauce & some fried fish. She switches it up & even asks her customers what they'd like to see on the weekend menu. She's open every day except Tuesday -- yes, even Sundays & Mondays. She also has a sit-down area, & the place is clean, smells good, & feels welcoming.
