I stopped by here for an impromptu brunch after wondering around downtown Norfolk. I was greeted upon entry and seated at the counter without any wait time on a weekend! My server was pleasant and I liked the atmosphere. I liked that there were some specials in addition to the regular menu items. The drink I had was absolutely amazing-the tropical sweet tart! My skillet was really good too, I do t recall the name, but it had potatoes, black beans, Turkey sausage, eggs and guacamole and their chili topping. The meal was flavorful.

Very convenient to the downtown hotels They have many items labeled gluten free or gluten free option Plume st breakfast : I liked that it is red peppers only ( no green. Hooray!) but the spinach was very sparse. Southwest scramble -- the turkey sausage worked well in this as in crumbled nicely. We ordered our eggs scrambled instead of the suggested over easy and enjoyed it all mixed. Not too many potatoes-- good ratio

Stockpot is a small restaurant located inside Selden Market that consistently delivers quality food and drinks. The space itself is compact, but there is additional seating upstairs. I sat at the bar during this visit. I've been here several times before, and this place definitely gets packed. That said, I arrived at 10am on a Sunday and had no wait to sit at the bar. The establishment is very clean, and they also have a section of baked goods that appear to be made in house. I've had cookies and slices of cake from here on previous visits and they have always been excellent. For drinks, I ordered a coffee, the Sweet Tart Mimosa from their winter mimosa rotation, and the Sorcerer Katschei from the Virginia Arts Festival mimosa rotation. The coffee was really good. It was hot, strong, and exactly what I wanted in the morning. The mimosas had unique flavors and were delicious. They also serve them in large glasses, which I appreciated. For food, I ordered The Lloyd, which is their modern take on biscuits and gravy, along with a side of turkey sausage. The dish was very flavorful and filling, and it came out quickly. Service was fast, attentive, and friendly without being overbearing. I keep meaning to come back for their weekly ramen night but somehow always forget. One of these days I'll make it happen.

On a day I wasn't feeling my best, I ordered delivery and it was a super easy process. The food arrive quick and fresh. I ordered the chicken noodle soup with slight modifications and the Island Paradise smoothie. There's no picture of the soup because I devoured it. It hit the spot! There were a lot of green onions so I did scrape them out and for the 8oz only a small amount of chicken. I do wish there was more chicken. Flavor wise though it was great. Never had dark noodles but they were delicious. The smoothie is great. I wouldn't change a thing. I look forward to actually going to the location but it was perfect for a quick lunch.

If you're only in Norfolk for a few days like I was, finding a place that actually sticks with you can feel like luck--but The Stockpot is exactly that kind of find. I ended up ordering the southwestern skillet with a lamb burger, and honestly, it was one of those meals you don't forget. The flavors were just... dialed in. Everything tasted intentional--perfectly seasoned, balanced, and comforting without being heavy. And the lamb? That slight gaminess added just the right amount of depth and richness to the dish. It didn't overpower anything--it completed it. What really stood out to me, though, was how effortless the whole experience felt. The staff were genuinely friendly--not in a scripted way, but the kind that makes you feel welcome right away. And the service was quick, which I appreciated since I was trying to make the most of a short trip. There's something about this place that feels like a local gem you almost don't want to share--but at the same time, you know people need to know about it. If I had more time in Norfolk, I would've gone back without hesitation. It's the kind of spot that makes you wish your trip was just a little bit longer.

Stopped by The Stockpot in Norfolk for breakfast on New Year's Eve before catching a flight, and honestly it was the perfect sendoff. I was warmly welcomed in as it was 30 degrees out and the menu immediately felt comforting yet refreshingly unfamiliar, full of items I don't usually see back home in LA. Exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble into while traveling. I sat at their bar top and tried the toasty of the day, which somehow tasted like an Uncrustable pepperoni pizza in the best possible way...crispy, nostalgic, and unexpectedly fun. For my main, I went with the OG fried rice, and it absolutely delivered: flavorful, satisfying, and cooked just right with little bits of crispy rice. It felt hearty without being heavy, which is perfect before a flight. Warm vibes, unique menu, and food that hits the spot. The Stockpot made my New Year's Eve morning feel special. I'd happily come back the next time I'm in Norfolk.

I'm so in love with this little gem. Service is always amazing, food is always fresh, and don't forget to try a tea as you wait! The location is perfect, something out of a hallmark movie, so no matter the occasion or lack there of be sure to stop by.

Papers we got to play Wednesday night (7pm-9pm) trivia with.

This place was just what we needed during our trip to Virginia! We stopped by for a snack and ended up eating dinner because everything on the diverse menu sounded so good! We also enjoyed playing a spontaneous game of Wednesday night trivia, with a host that made the experience feel memorable. Both the tropical smoothie and peanut butter cup smoothie were sweet yet balanced. For food, the fried rice and the unique "daily toasty" were delicious too. The atmosphere was cozy and very welcoming, the people we played trivia with were friendly and made the game exciting. I truly recommend this spot to anyone looking for just a snack, a fun drink, a meal, or a game of trivia.

My little birthday treat to myself. This definitely hit the spot. Ramen night is the best at the Stockpot. I ordered the Stockpot Shio and the blackberry whiskey smash. Everything was perfect. Definitely my favorite night here.

Great service and food! Have been here a couple times for brunch and have been impressed both times. Will definitely be going here again. Service was very good with friendly vibes and good recommendations.

TLDR: Phenomenal. Fresh. Delicious. Large menu with numerous choices ranging from Mediterranean to Asian to American. We had the Turkish breakfast and also the Bui Bowl with turkey sausage and lamb burger add ons in addition to a rosemary biscuit that we split. Everything was incredibly flavorful and fresh. Service was also great and we managed to have a great meal with our 1.5 year old.

The girls and I have an awesome experience every time we dine here! We love the food options and our waitress great The inside is very cute, bright and clean. I love the bar area plus the booths and the upstairs level. Everything we ordered tasted amazing.10/10

Stopped by for breakfast with a group and tried the OG Fried rice w/ chicken. It was tasty and the service is friendly. My large party, sat upstairs where it was quiet, but the vibes seemed to be level five downstairs. Great spot with great food. Cheers!

First of all can I just say WOW!…read more We were excited at the first because we thought the Neat Bird from Chesapeake had a new location in Norfolk Colley Avenue but there chicken sandwich was even delicious here too with a different owner! We met the owner, he is a cool band guy with a mustache name Dand. The drinks he made for us were so good and so was the way he talked with his staff and the way they worked together. My parner and I had seen that they pride themselfes on Scottish eggs, which we were lucky to try and it was also very delicious! We like that they have the vibe and also a board with many events of the community on the wall to check out while you sip on a delicious expresso martini. Good job to the Bird! now dont go opening another restaurant in Chesapeake or we will all be very confused!

You order at the register, and the staff brings the food out to your table. Everyone was attentive, and we had no issues with the service. We ordered the waffle plate, which came topped with fruit alongside eggs and their house sausage. We also tried the Huevos Rancheros, the Sausage Egg & Cheese sandwich, and a build-your-own omelette. For drinks, we ordered the brown sugar cold brew, dulce de leche cold brew, drip coffee, and an espresso martini. The waffle was huge, and the sides were great. My only complaint was that it could have used more fruit, as there were only a few small pieces. The Huevos Rancheros were delicious and came with a generous serving of avocado. The only thing that caught us off guard was the lack of salsa, since in traditional Huevos Rancheros the salsa is a key component. Even so, the dish was still flavorful and filling. The omelette was excellent, and the breakfast sandwich was equally delicious. I was especially impressed by the house-made jam, house-made hot sauce, and the perfectly seasoned home fries. As for the drinks, the brown sugar cold brew was excellent, but the dulce de leche version was far too sweet for my taste. From what I understood, they use two flavored syrups to make it, and I think using smaller portions of each would create a better balance. We ended up adding oat milk and some drip coffee to tone it down. The drip coffee itself was solid and came with free refills. The espresso martini really tied brunch together for me -- strong, well-made, and delicious. Overall, we really enjoyed both the food and the experience, and we'll definitely be back.

From the moment we walked into Oceanview Diner, we felt at home. There was an immediate warmth--like stepping into what America is supposed to feel like--people talking, laughing, and genuinely connecting over good food. The attention to detail was impossible to miss. Fresh-cut flowers sat on each table, adding a simple but thoughtful touch. Before our meals even arrived, we were served homemade herb focaccia with olive oil--an unexpected and appreciated gesture. And yes, even the water stood out. Being near the ocean, you often get that slightly earthy taste, but this water was clean, crisp, and clearly filtered. Now, the food. I ordered the Parmesan-crusted chicken with roasted potatoes and collard greens. The chicken was juicy (not dry at all) and cooked perfectly--something that sounds simple but is rarely executed this well. The collards were good, though I personally would've liked just a touch more salt and a splash of vinegar to bring them fully to life. My partner ordered the fried flounder with asparagus and mashed potatoes and had nothing but praise. Not a single morsel was left on the plate, which tells you everything you need to know. Oceanview Diner delivered not just a meal, but an experience rooted in care, pride, and hospitality.
