I was SO excited when Saladworks opened closer to my home last year. I have stopped in 3 times since their opening and each time I hope against hope that they will meet the standards of their Hilltop sister. As of yet, they haven't quite hit the mark. Yesterday I dropped in to pick up a couple of salads to go. On our first visit, my husband and I were disappointed with the service, which has since improved slightly. On this visit, I was greeted as soon as I walked in and I was pleasantly surprised. The bar has always been stocked with fresh ingredients and the place is pretty clean, which always makes me feel better about where I choose to spend my money. I had 2 separate employees make a salad for me last night and the differences in portion size were notable. The 2nd salad, made by a fairly new employee who had to keep looking at ingredients (not a fault.. I imagine it's difficult to learn them all), was easily half the size of the salad made by the experienced employee. They were the same salad less 1 ingredient. My recommendation would be to offer more consistent training to newbies. On my first 2 visits, I ate in and they served the salads in their own mixing bowls, which is not at all the standard of Hilltop. I'm not sure if they don't have plates or if they just don't want to wash the extra dish?! Either way, it's weird.. and makes for a slightly unpleasant dining experience as my fork clangs against metal with every bite. Maybe it's just me, but I like to dine on dishes and not in those weird metal mixing bowls. I hope they eventually change that practice and work on portion sizing so that I can get as excited about this location as I am about Hilltop. They really do have good, fresh food, but it's not worth the prices just yet. I definitely want to spend $10 on a salad that fills me up!

    Asian Chicken Salad

the asian salad was good and fresh BUT was supposed to have chicken in it. only thing that resembled chicken were these tiny fried pieces that have something hard inside. i assume this is the " chicken" . you should have just left them out. the salad was great otherwise.

Spinach, Kale, Mixed greens, carrots, eggs, chicken, cucumber and croutons with thousand island. Not the best picture but It was delicious

I love this place. Tori was so helpful and great personality. This time I took my salad to go because it was a beautiful day outside. They do have tables outside too! Thanks again

Came across this little gem when I was out Greenbrier to get my car serviced. It's like Chipotle but healthy and with salad lol. You can get whatever you want in the salad and everything was super fresh. They have the nicest to go boxes also I loved it. Definitely recommend

A great place for a quick healthy meal. Super friendly staff walk you through the triad of options. Indoor or outdoor seating. Both are very well done. All the standard beverages. Nothing is standard about the fare they serve. You can build your own or get a prepared meal. Bottom line: this is. Great place to have a tasty, inexpensive, healthy meal. I'll be back.

This was a pretty nice place for dinner. They have a ton to choose from. My only complaint is that you can only have 5 toppings for a create your own salad and it feels like a lot to pay for that little. I like the vibe of the place though. It's bright, they have a lot of places to sit, and it's clean (including the restrooms!). They also have a nice area outside where you can eat.

But honestly, it turned out to be such a fun and tasty experience! For anyone who hasn't tried it: hot pot is basically a big simmering pot of soup right at your table where you cook all your own food. You pick all your ingredients from soup, veggies, meats, noodles, mushrooms, whatever you want and drop them into the hot broth to cook. It's super customizable and kind of like a mix between soup and DIY cooking right at the table, which is actually a blast once you get the hang of it. We both went with a hot, spicy soup base which was perfect for warming up on a cold day. I threw in broccoli, mushrooms, ribeye, and noodles. The best part is watching everything cook right in front of you and then pulling it out when it's just right. The broth soaks up all those flavors and gets even richer as you go. The flavors were amazing! Really bold and satisfying. The spicy broth was exactly what I needed, and everything we added came out perfectly cooked and delicious. It was warm and cozy, which made the whole thing even better since it felt like the ultimate cold weather meal. I look forward to retuning and trying something completely different!

We always choose the Greenbrier location in Chesapeake since there's ample parking available, and the service is very good. Tonight I tried a new salad, the Lemon Basil Harvest Blend, and I appreciated our server, Jackeline M for asking if I preferred the dressing on the side. Yes, please! I'm so glad she asked! This mixed greens salad has some star ingredients that caught my eye: charred artichokes, green olives, and grilled balsamic chicken. Yum. I'll be ordering this salad again. My bestie ordered her favorite bc combo with Tomato Soup and the Wine Country salad. She says that soup and salad combo never disappoints. She finished it! But, we always save room to share a trusty bc favorite dessert: the Wimbledon (strawberries with whipped cream crepes). Although it's no longer on the menu, the Greenbrier location always whips it up for us when we ask. It's an oldie, and a goodie! We enjoy the cozy atmosphere of Baker's Crust and find that our dinner catch ups over their delicious food and dessert are always long overdue. I boxed half of my salad to take home and Jackeline was kind in bringing me extra salad dressing to go. Very thoughtful. We'll be back soon!
