A good stop for comfort food in Orlando, Fl. Let's face it. It's Chick Fil A. It's an icon. The staff at any restaurant in this chain seems to be always friendly and the food always consistently good. The chain of restaurants launched the first Chick-fil-A restaurant in 1967 at Atlanta's Greenbriar Mall. Today, there are over 3000 Chick-fil-A restaurants across the United States. As you can tell from above, I will gladly admit that I am a CFA fan. I have always appreciated this chain wherever I have visited for their dedication to consistent quality, friendly staff, cleanliness and bright welcoming atmosphere. This one seemed to fit the familiar pattern in a good way. It was easy to find, located just off the south side of Colonial Drive. Parking was a little challenging close to the restaurant. Like many of the CFA's these days, there is a covered drive through with fans for those warm days. We went inside to order rather than using the drive-thru, and even with a fairly busy dining area, the restaurant was clean. The staff at the counter were polite and upbeat. Our food and drinks were prepared quickly, and just the way we like. As with all the CFA locations we have visited, the prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes and quality. Overall, this Chick-fil-A had easy access, busy traffic, fast service, clean surroundings, and reliably good food. Went here for a quick bite. I was greeted immediately by a very friendly counter attendant. I had the spicy chicken breakfast biscuit for about 4.19. I scanned my rewards card and payment, and they told me it will be delivered to my table. Within a couple minutes, another friendly person delivered it to me. The biscuit was fluffy and the chicken was crispy enough. It could have been a bit spicier, but the sweet siracha sauce helped give it the kick I needed. It was just filling enough to start my day. The very friendly service is the reason I am giving it 5 stars. The staff were very enthusiastic and helpful. They really helped make a Monday enjoyable. The atmosphere is very casual and the place looked clean. The drive in service looked busy, so I was glad I ordered and ate inside. There is a small playground for the younger kids too. Worst customer service. While waiting in the drive-thru line, a dark haired girl employee, with glasses and pigtails, took it upon herself to become the drive-thru parking attendant. She was griping about everything and telling people to pull their cars up in line, even though there was no room to do so. The poor guy who was taking my order didn't know what to think or say either. I ordered a 30 piece chicken nugget, but I soon became so disgusted with her attitude, that I pulled out of line and went to KFC for my chicken order. At KFC, I received great customer service, and I received 36 nuggets instead of 30 chicken nuggets at Chic-Fil-A. Also, my order at KFC was more than $2.00 cheaper. I'll never go back to Chic-Fil-A. This Chick-Fil-A at Colonialtown Center was kind of a let down. We had to go to Fashion Square Mall which can't be more of a let down as exceptions are low. But when one of the arguably "best" fast food restaurants disappoints, it's not a good sign. First, why is this place so popular? I don't get it. It's not bad but not wait in super long lines all day long worthy. (Chicken Fire across the street is). Luckily, we arrived then went inside to order and eat, only to find out Dine-In was closed. What? They had some outside tables so it wasn't that big of a deal, but it made going in and ordering a cluster as everyone was huddling around waiting for the food instead of sitting spaced out in a restaurant. DUMB! The food was OK. My spicy chicken sandwich was VERY oddly shaped and looked more like a soft shelled crab instead of a chicken breast. This from the supposed king of chicken sandwiches. And why is their grilled chicken so much expensive than the fried? I think it's a smaller piece of chicken too. Oh boy! Not all Chick-fil-A's are created equal. I noticed that this restaurant was closed down for renovations for a little bit of time. I don't frequent this area, so when I do, I notice it. Unfortunately, they missed the mark for me today. The design of the drive-through is absolutely horrible. It backs up from the right side of the drive-through because you have to wait for people to exit and it is a short distance from a stop sign. Once someone got to me to order, I placed my order and went to pay. She said that she was not taking payment and that the person up front will take payment from me. I waited a total of 20 minutes in the line and the associates were all walking in between the cars, they seemed as if they did not know what they were doing. I am not sure how long this location has reopened but they definitely need some training. Maybe they should take some tips from the Waterford Lakes location. Once I got to the area to pay, the boy was not very friendly and I gave him my card and had my phone out to scan for my rewards and he took the payment first and I said can you Scan my rewards, he said you need to give this to me first. I have never had a Chick-fil-A employee talk to me like that, but it's OK. He was a kid. I finally get to the front to get my food and someone else is standing with my food that has been standing there probably for a little bit because I did not see him move. Once I got to the window, I asked for extra sauce and the girl told me that it was in the bag, how would she know if there was extra sauce? AnyWho, I received my food and got ready to eat it. This review is specifically based on Chick-fil-A's as you all know fast food and commercial restaurants compared to our local fun weigh differently. That being said welcome to the best Chick-fil-A in the metropolitan East Orlando area. I have been to several Chick-fil-A's in the area and gladly will drive out of the way to this one. Five stars when it comes to quality, customer service, and speed. I know at the start of the pandemic the road was rocky but I have to say they held it together better than most. Even implementing a "Don't block the drive thru" area for cars queuing into the order line and completed orders able to drive out. I want to specifically point out that the integrity at this location is real. Whenever I order extra crispy fries they always have me pull to the front (which makes sense). I have never been let down. My bag is filled crispy perfection and never burnt crumbs. The inside is typically maintained well, the cashiers are always courteous, and I never have to worry about sauces, utensils, and the order being correct in the drive thru. Even though I still check (side lip mutter)! Its so nice that this location has an entrance from three major lights and the convenience of tons of parking. Highly rude, sarcastic employees are allowed to run rampant and socialize instead of doing their job. I was left in the drive thru station and ignored (no other vehicles) while four employees were gossiping and having fun. The manager was nowhere to be found, and they kept sending employees acting as if they were manager. Avoid this location and spend your money elsewhere where you're treated with dignity, courtesy, and respect. Shame on you, Randy Parks. I relish any declines in sales you encounter since you just don't care. Edited to update that corporate told me they tried to discuss the poor employee conduct with the franchise owner Randy Parks, and he closed the complaint with no action or follow up, and told corporate he would do as much. Why bother spending $20 on 2 salads when they don't give you dressing or toppings for them? And when you realize when you get home and call, all they can say is "sorry, we'll use it as a training opportunity!". First the drive-through takes way longer then it used to. Pre Covid you can get in and out but now plan 10 or more minutes. Been a hand full of times the past 2 weeks and it's almost painful. It's not like the other locations that zip you in and out. On top of this the fryes May have something issues. Take a look at the following picture. Is it mold? Is it internal growth? The drive thru may back up but it moves fast with their system of having people with tablets taking orders far back in the line and giving the inside workers time to prep the food before you hit the window. The location overall can be hard to get to and exiting can be equally difficult. It's on the front side of Colonialtown meaning it is on the heart of traffic flow. All the traffic lights in and out of here don't allow right turns on red so you'll probably sit through a couple light changes during peek times. This is by far one of the BEST chick-fil-a that I've been to across the US! Shot out to Angie who was in the seating area helping people with anything extra they needed, condiments and such, and just talking with people giving a wonderful smile and hello. #anazing Upon pulling up it was a nightmare because there were a million folks in the drive thru. We went in hoping for a shorter line...no luck. As we stood in line we decided to order via the app thinking it would be faster. This staff team was so efficient and running like a tight ship that our order was taken before we could type it in fast enough. Also the order came surprisingly quick with such a long line!
