a tray with fries and a drink

To be honest for me this isn't it. Decided to try this for dinner, just because we always pass by it and we always say we should try this place see what they have! We ordered the snickers shake but honestly this was pure sugar for me!! I couldn't even finish it. We ordered the Original Double Steakburger with Cheese Combo and fries. The fries were great not to salty but yeah I'm sorry the burger wasn't it either. Felt like a White Castle burger but White Castle is a little better in my opinion. Maybe if we try something else next time but not sure if I'll be coming back any time soon.

Sad place, they used to be good. The Orlando, Fl location at Waterford did not include a bun on the hotdog. If you are out of buns talk to the person face to face. Not professional at all! They also left stuff off of three items. This was a $64.00 order with many mistakes and No communication at all about the bun-less hotdog. I waited 15 minutes for the order and they did not say a thing about the order. Stay away from the Waterford location in Orlando.

WTF IS THIS AND WHY WAS IT IN MY DRINK???????????

My girlfriend and I ordered 2 meals, My girlfriend got a sweet tea and I got a root beer. After sitting down to eat, she said her tea tasted "sour" and didn't want to drink it. I thought it was probably just unsweetened tea and tried it myself but after taking a sip it definitely tasted tangy/sour. I put the drink in the kitchen and grabbed her a different drink and thought nothing of it. Today, I went to take out the trash and emptied our cups to throw them away. Well, after pouring her "sweet tea" out, I noticed this clump that initially looked like hair at the end of her straw. I want to actually vomit right now... Looking at it more closely, it doesn't look like hair even though it has a similar string-like texture. I have no idea what it is but it's nauseating to look at and I cant stop gagging thinking about how my girlfriend and I drank from this straw. It almost looks like mucus whether its spit, snot or something else. Unsweet tea, flat soda, or any other excuse to why the drink tasted weird would've been a MILLION times better than finding this clump. I will NEVER EVER NEVER EVER eat at this location or ANY steak and shake again. I really feel like this has to be addressed on a larger scale than some Yelp review because having something as vile as this be in my girlfriend's drink is honestly a FDA nightmare at best. I would sleep much better at night knowing this location is closed for good...

I was surprisingly impressed with this Steak 'n Shake location. My party of five arrived around 3AM, and the restaurant was relatively full of college students. Nonetheless, we were seated immediately, and our food came out quickly, which is very unlike this restaurant chain. The server also checked on our table, frequently refilled our beverages, and made sure we had a good experience. The food was decent - you get what you pay for. With $3 meals, and a restaurant full of post-drinking students, I actually enjoyed my experience here.

Great for late nights, open 24/7. The 7x7 burger is a monster. 7 patties and 7 layers of cheese. Delicious going in but quickly upset my stomach and could feel my arteries clogging...

I was very pleasantly surprised by our first stop at a Steak 'n Shake. I expected fast food. It was like fast food (better, actually), only it was a sit-down restaurant. This place is decorated like a diner - red with stainless steel. The servers were very friendly. Ours addressed us as "Mister" and "Maam." When we asked for extra napkins, he pleasantly got more. He was a very courteous and attentive server. The food was terrific. We ordered a couple of their steakburgers - the classic and the garlic double cheeseburger. They're thin fresh-made patties seared to crispy/juicy hamburger goodness... very similar to what you'd find at Culver's. Actually, this restaurant most resembled Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers - from the decor, to the burgers, to the fries and their own seasoning - it was almost identical to Freddy's. Their thin fries were delicious as well. Steak 'n Shake offers their own seasoning (a Lawry's and pepper-like combination) that tastes great on the hamburger and the fries. They do offer Cajun or Parmesan or Vinegar seasoning on the fries for an additional charge. After trying the parmesan, I'd suggest just ordering your fries straight-up. It wasn't worth the upcharge to have some seasoning sprinkled on the fries. The prices here were pretty unbelievable for a sit-down restaurant. They have a variety of meals (hamburgers, hotdogs, etc. with fries) for $3.99. Their shakes are great as well. We split a Heath and it was quite good. Don't expect a thick malt or Blizzard. These are shakes, and hence a bit milkier. You have to have a shake if you're going to Steak 'n Shake, and they have a variety of excellent flavors to choose from (Strawberry, Chocolate fudge, Butterfinger, and many more). After our first trip to Steak 'n Shake I would definitely go back.

I had the Salty Pear Burger and babyyyyy... that melted brie had me questioning my entire life . I was over there dipping the fries that came with the burger INTO the melted brie because why not?! Dang gone good. Juicy burger, flavorful, cooked right... just chef's kiss. Now let's talk about those fried sweet potatoes drizzled with cinnamon and homemade caramel... OMG. I was in complete awe. Sweet, salty, crispy, warm... yeahhhh they snapped with those. I love Brussels sprouts too, but I ain't even make it over there because them sweet potatoes had my full undivided attention . Hubby said the Brussels were DELISH though. And the Gin Smash?! Whew . The bartender absolutely DID THAT. Smooth, refreshing, dangerous in the "I might order another one" type of way . They have inside and outside seating plus a nice bar area that gives laid back but still vibey. The energy was easygoing and welcoming... not stiff or pretentious. Our server Monica was AMAZING. Personable, down to earth, attentive... just good people energy. She even brought me a small container of their pimento cheese and LISTENNNN... I cannot make this up. DELISH ‍. Fresh, flavorful, not overly creamy like some places do it. I was dipping EVERYTHING in it. Fries... burger... probably would've dipped my drink if nobody was looking . One thing I also appreciated was seeing the kitchen staff actively cleaning equipment and the grill area. Apparently this is something they regularly do because a friend shared she's witnessed the same thing before too... and honestly? That matters. Cleanliness and consistency will keep people coming back. All I know is I'm thankful I live in Tampa because if I lived closer, my wallet and waistline would both be stressed and I've come too far for that... But... I'll definitely be back

Happy hour was just starting or had started, but there wasn't anything on the happy hour menu that stood out to us. They had the Suncreek Brewery Strawberry ale on tap so I had a couple glasses of that. It's perfect for the summer. It's a very light and very refreshing beer. My husband drank Yuengling. We both end up getting a taster of Bourbon later on. My husband went with the six year Willet And really enjoyed it. He said it definitely got better the more that you drank. I opted for something that I've seen in the stores but haven't purchased yet. I was able to try both the dancing panda eight year as well as the dancing panda 10 year. A cheaper bottle of bourbon but definitely good flavor. The 10 was my favorite. For food, I got an order of the S & S sweet potato fries, which comes with a light caramel drizzle. These fries are cooked perfectly and so delicious. My husband got the garlic Parm wings, and while the crunch was perfect on them.(he ordered them crunchy) -he was not a fan of their garlic Parmesan sauce. It just felt like the garlic, overpowered any of the Parmesan. Overall, we enjoyed our time here and the two bartenders that were working the bar, were excellent and very attentive.

To my surprise, I was disappointed by the food. I got the loaded frings and a 5 x 5 burger. I believe the burger is relatively new, since it wasn't on any of the pictures of their menu on Google. Ambiance: The staff was friendly enough and I do like the fact that you can see them cooking the burgers in front of you. However, looking around at the restaurant, it looks like there was no upkeep. There were broken tiles, tables weren't cleaned, and I believe there might have been mold when I was filling my water cup at the ice machine, like visibly on the spout. Food: Loaded frings- I'm not sure how you mess this one up, but they somehow did it. The fries were overcooked and the bacon was fried to hell. I think you can actually see how burnt the bacon was in the pictures. It tasted like charcoal. Lastly, the fries were completely soaked in cheese sauce, which I'm guessing was from a can. It tasted like the cheese you'd have at state fairs, except more watery. There was more sauce than fries and onion rings! I should have taken a picture after eating half of the fries. I could not eat the bottom half of the frings because it was all soggy Burger- the same cooked-to-hell bacon was used on the burger. Not much else need to say about that. Looking at the picture of the burger, you'd think that the patties were way overcooked as well. That was not entirely the case. The patties weren't extra dry, but they weren't as juicy as I would have liked a burger to be. I'd say it was just okay. Maybe a half step below average. I really wanted to like this place, but I wasn't able to. I'm not sure if I came by on an odd day, because the reviews say otherwise. I really hope management can fix these issues.
