Food is perfect every time. Chicken is cooked exactly how it should be and the fries are always crispy.

First off, I thought I had already rated Macho's Delish Mix!!!…read more This is My FAVORITE PLACE!!! This is the place I go to when I say I am hungry and I want to eat out. This is thee only place I think of. They serve burritos, tacos, salads, smoothies and sides like empanadas, chicken salad, seafood salads, fruits salads and such. They have been on Cobbs Creek for about 3 years, I absolutely love them. They name some of their items after famous Philly people, like for instance the Iverson or Chamberlain. Macho's was the first place I had purple rice and I've never looked back. Their prices are reasonable as well, I usually spend about $22 for a meal which I usually last me about 2-3 meals. The establishment is very nice, clean, always bright, they have a cute color filled wall for pics possibly with their name in the center. They also have outdoor seating, which I used once for an organization event in the summer. They also offer limited seating inside. This establishment is black owned and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. When promoting an event or services they have a small wall the community can use and they are always welcome to adding new things to it. As I mentioned, my organization held a special gathering outdoors and they were extremely accommodating, even down to holding the refreshing smoothies inside to keep them cool on that warm summer day. I'll share more pics for sure but this review is long over due. There are many places and lots a great food in Philly, but if we want to live long and healthy lives we cannot indulge all the time. Macho's Delish Mix is not a place to avoid if you're on a health journey, it's a place you go towards. The food is made to order and always fresh and the healthy options are endless. Let's keep their doors open!!! Go!!! Patronage, you won't be disappointed!!!'

They serve you fresh waster (Drinks to order include Hanks, Boylan's, Harney and Sons, Teas etc.) and will serve you at the table or you can walk up and order at the counter. Their menu has a great mix of deli, steak, "chicken" steak, meatball, sausage and cutlet sandwiches with interesting flavor combos. You can also get breakfast (till 11AM) or a salad. They also have sides that include - tots, fried pickle chips, onion rings, fries, fried mozzarella and Zayda's pickle spears, chips and cherry pepper shooters. They have a couple of vegan options and GF rolls for extra $$. The staff was more than happy to give recommendations and their favs. My first lunch was The Eye - $15 Ribeye steak, Cooper Sharp American, fried onions came on a seeded Liscio's roll. If you enjoy the somewhat newer Cooper sharp style that's out there you'll like theirs. The Cooper sharp was gooey, mixed in well with the meat and on the heavier side. The ribeye was thin cut, delicious and the portion was pretty hefty. Second visit I went with - The Nad - $15 Chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, Mike's Hot Honey that came on an unseeded Liscio's roll. The portion size was good, chicken was fresh with good breading, the hot honey was a tad on the heavy side, but the flavors all came together pretty good on this one. Sweet, salty, light bitterness from the arugula and some heat from the hot honey. I added Thin Cut Idaho fries to make it a combo for $3 extra and I have to say they were delicious. They smelled like McD's and tasted similar. They are cash only, but have an ATM on site. You can use a card if you order online. The one bathroom they have was pretty clean and organized. I will certainly stop back for a visit if I'm in the area to try out more of their menu. Thanks guys!

Son's friend recommended this place for sandwiches and since he said the onion rings were good that made it a must go to place! We had the: Beef shawarma maroosh style 5/5: The best thing about this humongous sandwiches is the bread is crispy but soft. I was surprised at the price but the sandwich is so big we really could have split one but ordering two left us they both. The beef is so tender it reminded me of chinese beef stew for some reason. Not that it tasted like chinese beef stew but the texture was just so melt in your mouthy! Loved the veggies on it and the sauce! chicken shawarma maroosh style 5/5: Son and DIL loved it here and recommended it. Hubs preferred it cuz he's a chicken fan and loved it for all the same reasons listed above. Onion rings 5/5: Rings were nice and crisp without being overly greasy or fried. It's a nice place with just a couple of booths inside. Originally I was only going to give it 4 stars cuz the way it's set up is weird when they tell you where to stand and where to go...it just didn't feel warm and inviting when you walk in but honestly when I'm in philly again I will make it a point to stop by so that makes it a 5 in my book.

Let's start with the mini-mart side, aka my happy place. They carry these crack-level addictive injera chips in rosemary, mild, and spicy--YES, I've tried them all, and YES, they're all elite. I keep saying I'll pace myself, but nah. Also obsessed with their zero-sugar digestive cookies?? I don't even know where else to find these, and honestly, I don't wanna know. Alif is my plug now. On the café side, the hot Ethiopian food is consistently . My all-time fave is the yellow split pea dish (Kik Alicha)--so flavorful, creamy, and comforting, like a warm hug from someone's grandma. It comes with two glorious rolls of injera, soft and tangy, perfect for scooping up every last bit. If you know, you know. There's a cute little seating nook to the right of the register, plus a few outdoor tables for soaking up some sun with your sambusa. The staff? Super quick and helpful whenever I ask questions--they always know what's up and don't mind me geeking out over new snacks. Also came by during the Dollar Stroll and tried their Ethiopian wraps, and--whew. How do I describe them? Imagine rich, spicy, savory magic wrapped in injera and handed to you for ONE DOLLAR. I was shook. It's no wonder I've been back like five times... and probably forgot to check in at least half of those visits. Oops. ‍ TL;DR: Alif Brew is my comfort café + snack haven rolled into one. If you haven't been, GO. And grab me a bag of spicy injera chips while you're at it.

We are about a block away on the Penn Campus so we decided to check it out. The restaurant was about half full. Most people ordered their meal to go and rushed to get back to work. There is an extensive menu filled with different options. I decided to go for the plate option which comes with an entree and two appetizers. I ordered the chicken with tzatziki sauce along with pita on the side. For the two sides I chose lemon potatoes and mushrooms. The chicken was great after rolling it up in the pita and dipping it in the tzatziki sauce. The lemon was a little too strong in those potatoes. Next time I might choose french fries or rice instead. They give you a large amount of food for the price. I was unable to finish the entire meal and grabbed the rest to go for later. The staff was very helpful getting a to go box and cleaning up afterwards. I think I will definitely be coming back here for a large meal sometime this week.

You can order at a kiosk so you don't even have to interact with anyone. Their tzatziki might be the best I've ever had and I've been to Greece multiple times. I eat mainly Mediterranean and this place is top tier casual Greek food (and affordable too). Highly recommend.

FANTASTIC place. Totally recommend and would absolutely go back…read more Easy to make a reservation over the phone and our party of 5 was welcomed and brought to our table upstairs. The upstairs area has a chill vibe with some Mario-themed art as well as a TV. It seems that the kitchen is upstairs, so a lot of waiters were flying by out table to the staircase. Our waiter was pretty chill. Apparently an O's fan, he was excited to learn we're from Baltimore. Food was all fantastic. The style of fries isn't my preference, but they were decent. Other than that, I was blown away. Child #1 and Child #2 got some items from the Kids' menu - grilled cheese and cheeseburger. Bread and Butter appetizer. Is it expensive for just being bread and butter? Yes. Is it worth it? Also yes. The homemade bread is great, but combine it with honey butter with flaky salt, and it's incredible. Loads of reviews on Yelp talked about the sausage roll. GET IT. It's greasy and filling in all the right ways. Goes great with a beer. My wife got the burger and she found it to be very tasty. I got the Grilled Maitake Mushrooms dish and holy cow; it's perfect. Even if you're not a vegetarian (I'm not), you can appreciate this dish: crispy rice cake (not the dry kind from the store), tender baby bok choy, and of course the well-cooked mushrooms are tied together with black vinegar, garlic-whipped tofu (!), and a peanut sauce. A++ would absolutely get again. The food menu has some staples, but overall it does change nightly, so make sure you check it out before you come. Apparently, on Sundays, they do a different experimental flavor of wings. I was curious, but my stomach has only so much room, so I had to draw the line. There is a respectable drink menu. My wife got the blood orange mezcalita, which she liked, but thought the smoke flavor was more subtle than described. I got the Plum Fizz and would totally get it again. Pleasantly-sour with a nice fizz. It's a nice pub in a nice neighborhood of a major city - be prepared for prices to match. But it is absolutely worth it.
