Most delicious meal I have ever had! I ordered the shrimp basket (which they batter fresh daily) and you could taste how fresh it is! The crab cakes were so tender and flakey, I wish I had ordered 10 more. This has long been my "hidden secret" as it relates to the litany of places to get a quality cheesesteak in South Philly(top 3). On this unfortunate occasion, I tried my hand with their boneless wings to mixed results. Environment Upon walking in you'll get the standard Philly welcome which I honestly enjoy. It's a mixture of being welcomed yet lovingly scrutinized. Located along the walls of the restaurant you'll find many images of celebrities who have made the visit and signed a few pieces of memorabilia. There are about 3-4 tables for those interested in being seated. Food As mentioned earlier, in the past(pre-pandemic) they've been one of my hidden gems as it relates to their incredible cheesesteak offering. However, I haven't had one since before the pandemic so I can't speak to their current quality. While feeling adventerous, I felt the urge to try out their namesake menu items. The boneless wings were two steps below average. I don't know if it was the sauce,the wings being overcooked, or the potential of dirty oil being used but the flavor was lackluster at best. THE SAUCE It pains me to leave anything less than a pleasant review for indepedently owned businesses but I'd be remiss not to offer insights into how they can improve. Ordered a small margherita pizza. It was made quickly, 10 mins. $13.99. 10 inch pizza. Left with the pizza and it said Margherita on the ticket on the box. But what I got was a white pizza w raw slices of tomato on it. No red sauce at all. Just plain crust and regular, not fresh, mozzarella cheese and raw unseasoned unsalted tomato slices. Man, I really don't enjoy leaving negative reviews but these wings were especially bad. They were all very tiny, and therefore super dry. I felt like I was chewing tiny bits of sandpaper. Half of the bones were broken & they are definitely frozen (black bones). I also got this tiny little nub thing instead of a 10th wing so that was a bummer. The sauce (nuclear & suicide) were both good with a nice kick hence the 2 stars. If I could honestly write this without leaving a star I would. I like Mr.wings because they are the only place near my home that make actually good honey hot wings but tonight was my last time ordering from them . They lack management and communication!!! Both bad encounters with them was when I called close to closing and my thing is if they were ready to close they shouldn't have accept my order if they weren't willing to do it right . One time they bought me the wrong flavor wings , they messed up and tried to tell me mango haberno wings was honey hot and banned me because I sent the wings back now I have my boyfriend order , they took the order and said 45 mins and it's been 2 hours I'm sitting here hungry and now the store closed and I can't even call . This spot is near the grocery store I shop at frequently so I was hungry and wings were on the menu so I decided to give it a try. It is the typical wing spot so nothing really special. They also have pizza as well although I haven't tried it. They have a pretty good list of wing flavors. I went for the garlic Parmesan and Cajun. The garlic Parmesan was like an oily mess and really had no flavor at all. The Cajun however was much better. I wasn't wow'ed but I wasn't disgusted either. Like I said it is pretty much what I expected as with typical wing spots but I have had better. As I mentioned before they also have pizza but I didn't have it so I can't give my opinion. Sometimes it serves a place like this to perfect one thing and you will get the business because of that thing you do best. Then you branch out! I ordered a small buffalo chicken salad from here and in the mist of me setting some of the chicken to the side I ended up finding a live spider in my food. I panicked and got sick to my stomach. I called the establishment to let them know and the first thing the receptionist said was, "how can there be a spider in your food if the chicken was hot". I can't believe that this was the feedback that I was given. I ended up driving back to the restaurant to show the receptionist how and then the next person assisting her says that I can't get my money back in cash and that it would have to go back on my card. To me that was unacceptable and not once did I get an apology. I asked for the manger and they stated that he wasn't there and that he would be arriving any minute. After about 10 minutes I asked if they could call him and after they did, they stated that he would be an additional 30 minutes. I told them I would continue to wait. I then asked them how didn't they know how to void a transaction at a register that they work on, she then stated that her manger said if I paid on a card it has to go back on my card. At that point I was livid! I can't believe that this is how they handle a paying customer that had a spider in there food. Another five minutes past and they ended up giving me my cash back and told that I was banded from there establishment. I ordered the pepperoni pizza, bbq wings and cheesesteak combo and it was a sad and unappealing meal. I'll start with the pizza, the cheese was saturated with grease and it surely wasn't from the pepperoni. The bbq chicken wings looked like a novice cook had made it. When I opened the carton it looks like they dumped bbq sauce on top of the chicken out of the bottle and sent it out to be delivered. I got a notification that the order was ready to be picked up after only 20 minutes Price (1/5): The wings were very small for the price. When you pay over a dollar a wing, you expect it to be bigger wing. It was definitely disappointing. Curly fries with cheese whiz (3/5): Very standard curly fries. They were crispy and warm when I got them. The cheese definitely tasted like whiz right from the can. Would have appreciated a more custom cheese sauce so that it wasn't as congealed. Honey hot wings (2/5) : The wings were fried perfectly, but the sauce was lack luster, and when you have wings, you really want a special sauce. It didn't have enough spicy kick and then it didn't have enough sweetness in it. Garlic parm wings (1/5): The wings were fried very well again, however this sauce wasn't what I was expecting. It was a tad salty to me, but usually all Buffalo wings are like that. One big plus about this spot are the deals they offer for lunch and for specials. Quite simply, the best wing takeout in Philly. They have five different varieties of wings (mild, medium, hot, nuclear, and honey BBQ) and two kinds of fries, regular and skin-on. The chicken wings themselves are crunchy, and they are good quality, none of the freaky deformities and bloody veins you get from some places. The sauce has a slight buttery flavor, like homemade, and the heat ratings are accurate -- mild is safe for the wimpiest of eaters, and hot is indeed blazing. Luckily they serve the elusive medium, too. Each order comes with a packet of carrot and celery sticks and a tub of chunky, delicious blue cheese dressing. They also make pizza and sandwiches, but I can't personally vouch for those. Their pizza smells amazing, but I am more of a wing girl. Their delivery is really fast, too. I was a Mr Wings regular until I stopped working in the area 3 years ago, but now I am back and decided to see if they were still as good. The prices may have gone up a little since then, but the quality food and service is still on point. What happened to the creamed spinach side I was so fond of before? gone...oh well. My supervisor ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with a side of pizza fries. I usually order for delivery but we were slow so I picked it up and it was ready in 25 minutes. The girl behind the counter was friendly and quick to wait on me when I walked in. Just like I remembered. My chicken was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. Whatever they use for marinade, it's the bomb. My sides were excellent as well, hot, tasty, and not too salty. The meals also come with a small side salad which was a fresh mix of lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber and cabbage. Not just lettuce like some places. Top it off with their house dressing (balsamic vinegar & olive oil) and I'm happy. My supervisor devoured his wrap and fries, said they were awesome. I am giving this place 5 stars even though they no longer have my favorite side, creamed spinach. Even though my meal was 9.25 which I find a bit high compared to what it was 3 years ago, about 2 dollars cheaper, it's still worth it. They do offer lunch specials during the week where you can get a wrap, sandwich, or wings, plus fries and soda for a discounted price. Will try one of those next time. My fiance and I order from these guys pretty frequently, and we've always gotten delicious wings and pizza! I'm originally from NJ and my fiance is from NY, and sometimes we have been disappointed with the pizza in the area. Not so from Mr. Wings! When we got it for the first time, we were extremely impressed. The crust was crispy, the sauce was tasty, and there was plenty of cheese and toppings. For pizza of this style, it's one of the best I've had in this city (different from "gourmet" pizza, I'd say it's great for basic pizzeria style pizza). The wings have always been great too. I've seen a few reviews commenting on how small the wings are, but I don't really see the problem. We generally get the boneless wings though, which are considerably larger. My favorite sauces are the cajun (which is a dry-rub with accompanying dipping sauce) and the honey BBQ. We had guests in from out of town, and they LOVED the honey BBQ sauce. It's a unique sauce, quite unlike other generic honey BBQ sauces I've had at other wing places. In terms of sides, they have a lot of options, but I've only tried the cheese bacon fries and the caesar fries. The cheese bacon fries are exactly what they sound like: cheese wiz, bacon bits and fries. Pretty solid! The caesar fries were really interesting, covered with caesar salad dressing and parmesan cheese. If I had one complaint, it would be that I'd prefer more carrots over celery as the veggie accompaniment to wings. I hate celery, but love blue cheese (theirs is delightfully chunky), and the carrots are a nice touch. Last time we ordered, they forgot the carrots, but that's a minor complaint. I'll just specify extra carrots next time. Overall, they are a solid wing and pizza option. read more

These guys are right near where I work and although I have never been to the actual location I have ordered delivery from them too many times for me to count. I have ordered several things off of their menu; my favorites have been the Cheeseburger Wrap and the Chicken Finger Salad. Both are very good. Only complaints? Occasionally the lettuce on the cheeseburger wrap seems a little old. Not too bad, definitely doesn't make it inedible, but there is a definite difference in quality that I have noticed. Also, one day when I called to order a special that ended at 3:00 p.m. (and I'll admit, it was like 2:58 - I was cutting it close), they told me that I couldn't have the special. I questioned it and was told "Oh, it's too late." So I told them that their menu said that I could order it until 3. She told me that was correct. My response was that it was 3. She begrudgingly put the order through for me. I wasn't trying to be difficult, but work was hectic that day and I technically was calling in under the deadline. Other than that isolated incident, everyone has always been very courteous and accommodating when I called. Overall, this is a really nice little pizza place.
