They don't have misters with their fans when it's very hot out due to customers complaining about cars getting wet. I'd like him to stand outside in 100 degree heat and take orders. Wish that would change like other locations for the health and safety of the workers. They also have one of the longest drive thru's I've seen. They had a new insulated cup, nice touch to keep the drinks colder longer. Spicy deluxe chicken sandwich hit the spot after a long day at work. I used to love coming here, but this Chick-fil-A location is a mess. I'm here 3-5 times a week, and every time something's missing from my order. When the staff mess up, the manager acts annoyed instead of helping. Today's final straw: grabbed a meal for my son and sodas for my wife and me... only to get home and find the sodas were flat. $8 down the drain, plus the time and gas to fix it. Seriously? I'm slowly transitioning to driving to the Downey location. I'd rather do the extra drive and get it right. I understand mistakes happen, but when there's a pattern, it's clearly an issue at this store. Downey Chick-fil-A gets it right. This isn't a one-off it's a pattern. Yikes at all the bad reviews this Chick-fil-A has gotten, but as always, YMMV, and in my case, it definitely did. I was enjoying an acai bowl next door for lunch, but had room left for a chicken sandwich. I had a reward for a free chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A thanks to LAFC (Los Angeles Football Club)*, so I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to see how bad (or good) this Chick-fil-A really is. You can find this Chick-fil-A on the southeast corner of Garfield and Firestone, but it's kind of like in its own little plaza compared to where I got my acai bowl; I had to wait at a red light while on foot. It's hard to miss if you're driving in either direction on Firestone. You'll see a streetside sign with the Chick-fil-A logo and the message "Closed Sundays" underneath. As soon as you walk in, you're met by two doors. The door to the right leads to the dining area while the door to the left leads to the front counter. I went on an early Friday afternoon, and there were a couple of customers at the register placing their order. They took so long that another team member, Mia, opened another register just to ring me up. I redeemed my reward of the free chicken sandwich, and I also wanted a water cup, all to go. I also asked for the sauce that looked like Chick-fil-A sauce, but comes in sauce packets. She could tell I meant the Honey Roasted BBQ and even gave me a packet from behind the counter. However, she neglected to say, "My pleasure", a customary phrase that should be ingrained in all Chick-fil-A team members whenever they are thanked for anything. In her case, she said, "Of course, have a great day!" after handing me my water cup. That aberration was really the only blemish I saw out of her, and it wouldn't be a blemish at any other eatery not named Chick-fil-A. After receiving my water cup, I had just barely taken a few steps when a different team member called my name. I was even more surprised my order was ready that fast! That team member remembered to say "my pleasure" after I thanked him. As soon as I exited, I noticed a hand sanitizer by the door as well as a trash can with a motion sensor. I almost thought about eating my sandwich inside, but with how crowded the dining area was at the time, I chose to eat in my car. My takeout bag included not one, but two packets of Honey Roasted BBQ sauce, so I got three when I really only asked for one. Another pleasant surprise! I also appreciated the "TAKE GOOD CARE" message on my bump ticket underneath "CARRY OUT". Service was great overall! The sandwich was a little odd, however. The bottom bun was dislodged from the rest of the chicken sandwich that I almost thought they used a smaller bun than usual! Other than that, there wasn't anything extraordinary about that chicken sandwich compared to the ones I've had at other locations. But needless to say, it was a nice free sandwich, especially with the Honey Roasted BBQ sauce! My visits to South Gate are few and far between, so I likely won't be visiting this location again in the near future. However, my experience was definitely not as bad as the other reviews make it out to be, and I'd recommend stopping in if this is the location closest to you. It's also not too far from the 710 freeway, so if you're traveling north towards Pasadena or south towards Long Beach, it'd make for a great pit stop, and you can even do some shopping at Target or El Super on the way back to the freeway. * This is just one of several promos Chick-fil-A SoCal does throughout the year. I waited after several visits to leave a review. I hate that this is the closest chick fil a now that out of convenience, I stop here on my way to wherever I need to be. But it is the slowest serving chick fil a compared to Downey and Norwalk site. I spent 20 min in line from when I ordered until I got to the window. I don't think their delivery is anything out of the ordinary to say it makes up for the time it takes. It's average compared to the other ones in the area. read more

Just visited the new Chick-fil-A on 3/14/24 and was very pleased with my experience. Every employee greeted us. I went in during breakfast time and asked if they could accommodate a chicken sandwich, as my son does not prefer the biscuits and they accommodated the request imputing the chicken and bread separately. While waiting at the order pick-up station for my takeout, I was overlooked twice. When I brought this to the attention of another staff member. The staff member Lily's, response was not only dismissive but completely unprofessional--she laughed and stood there without addressing the issue. I am extremely disappointed in how I was treated during my visit. Chick-fil-A is known for excellent customer service, but this experience was anything but that. I was looking for something for my kid's school event and was able to order same day catering. Placed the order around 9am and picked it up at 2:30. All of the staff was super nice and helpful. Everyone kept asking me if I had been helped. Edgar was super nice and offered to help me take my order to the car. The two girls that were in charge of the pick-up and online ordering/catering were beyond helpful and went above and beyond. The nuggets looked good and it was a good quantity for the price. I came here on opening and day and the service was great but my nuggets were a little toasty. I decided to give them another shot today. I was in the drive thru line about 10:21and was told they don't serve lunch until 10:30. I was let out the drive thru line. I parked and waited until 10:30 to get down and order from the lunch menu. Upon my entry I over hear the two workers converse about lunch being all day. I was thrown off to hear that when I was just made to wait to be able to order lunch. I asked if that was true and what I only assume to be a manager explained the situation. He said there are employees from other locations and they do serve all day lunch however for the time being while this location is training and such they will be focusing on breakfast during breakfast hours. I appreciated the clarification I was given. It provided insight and a reminder that this is a new location with new employees and we must give them some grace while they learn the ropes. read more

Just opened!! Had to check it out. Nice but crowded. Line at the drive thru was lengthy so we went in. Looks like too many employees trying to get around each other. Loud and a bit confusing. Grilled chicken sandwich, spicy deluxe sandwich, spicy chicken sandwich and couple of lemonades were very good. Service was quick and cleaning crew was on point. This is, sadly, not a positive review. I KNOW, for a Chick Fil A, of all places! Unfortunately they have not met the Chick Fil A expectations that I am so used to experiencing. They have gotten both breakfast and lunch orders incorrect (giving me the right amount of items but one or more items being incorrect). They have given me the incorrect amount of items at least 2x. They are, sadly, not as friendly as other locations. I mean this with no disrespect to the franchise as a whole, but it gives McDonalds vibes with their level of engagement and customer service. With all of that being said, the drive through is an impeccable design and the food tastes like it should. But I will instead be using the Downey Firestone location from now on. read more

Shitty place!! I don't care I'm going to say what on my mind!! I've been to many many chick-fil-a's and this one is the absolute worst! I went today 03/22/25 at 3 pm and not only did they take long, they did not mark our sodas not even push in! We ordered a Diet Coke, Coke Zero and a regular coke and not a single one marked!!! The little girls at the front passing the food out were laughing and making smart remarks when we asked them which ones which!! My husband for a 4 pc chicken strips and it only came with 3..... I'm so disgusted with their work ethics with their serving and everything overall!!! Do not go to this one!! Drive 6 more min and go to the one in Downey!!! read more
