Chick fil A is top notch with their service and the one in Wallingford greatly represents the reputation of Chick Fil A. The employees here are great and friendly! During the lunch hour, they sometimes have people outside taking orders which makes the line go by so much quicker. The grilled items, in my opinion, are better than the fried. Like everyone else, I got hooked on Chick-fil-a through traveling in the South over time. Needless to say I was over the moon to know that one was coming to my beloved Wallingford. When I heard that Chik-fil-A was coming to CT I was so so excited. And now the anticipation is finally over! I went on a Friday night shortly after it opened. The line was out the door but it actually moved pretty quickly and I don't think we waited more than 10 minutes. We found one of the few tables that were free (complete with fresh flowers!) and staked our claim. We waited about 10 minutes for the food to come out and an employee brought it right to our table! Everyone who worked there was so polite and friendly. We were so impressed. When does that ever happen at a fast food joint? For the food, I got the deluxe chicken sandwich meal. The chicken was so good!!! It's obvious it's legit chicken and not whatever 'stuff' is in the chicken at those other fast food places. The waffle fries were great, though could have been cooked a little more to get crispy but I loved them nonetheless. My only complaint is that the location is not closer to my house!!! I recently went to Chick-fil-A with my girlfriends, one is a die-hard for their chicken sandwiches. Of course, we were just waiting for them to come to Connecticut. They are traditionally known for their wonderful "fast" food. I must say they did not disappoint. The chicken was so moist and I absolutely" love, love, love" the waffle fries and they were steaming hot. Just the way I like them. The staff was fabulous, I think the manager must have enjoyed our enthusiasm because he came to our table several times giving out various samples we had never tried. We got to try their salads and this marvelous fruit flavored drink. There is nothing like "great" customer service that is always an "At" in my book. Best fast food ever , there is no competition! They make the chicken fresh , they don't just reheat frozen ones like every where else! The grill tastes like it came off a grill from a back yard bbq , flavorful and juicy! The friend chicken is my favorite , extremely tasty! I have to say all of the sauces are amazing , ( I mixed all 6 together, bbq , honey mustard , Polynesian, CFA sauce , ranch , and buffalo. It was awesome and I suggest everyone try it once ! I received the most horrible customer service from Chic- fil-A. I heard so much good information about the quality of their food that I was excited to visit the fast food eatery, Immediately when I was standing in line, the cashier seemed a little unnerved about serving me so she directed me to the next cashier. Who was a lot more accommodating. I placed my order for a chicken sandwich combination with cheese and fries, in addition to a milk shake. I made a simple request that I have made at many other fast food restaurants who had no issue accommodating the request. After paying for the order, I asked if I could come back for my shake, as I intended to eat there and I didn't want my shake to loose it's chill. Because it was a hot day. The manager immediately interrupted the server who told me it was no problem. And stated that they "could not do that". Also, they would have to charge me an additional charge for the shake. The manager was so hostile it was apparent to me that they did not want me as an customer. It would make absolutely no sense for me to pay an additional charge for a milk shake since I had already paid for it. I cancelled my order and left. The manager seemed satisfied that I was leaving. This is my second trip to Chick-fill-A. I was impressed by the friendliness of all the staff working there. They all genuinely seemed happy and very polite, quick and accurate. The food though just isn't that much to rave about. The waffle fries for my second time there are still under-cooked. No crispiness to them at all and flavor-less. The only way to add flavor to these bland fries is add too much salt to them. My grandson who loves fries left most of them behind and would not eat them. The spicy chicken was filling and was spicy. The bun seemed to be a bit old and not fresh. Like the fries it was kind of taste-less. I can get the same chicken sandwich from Wendy's or Dairy Queen. I just don't see what is so special about a fast food restaurant that serves "chicken" on their menu. They post calorie count on their menu but that is not breaking news either. I came here with a friend of mine to try it out. I had ordered the chicken nuggets meal but was given tenders instead which I didn't mind. The chicken was good and had a different taste from other fast food joints and the waffle fries were excellent. Another thing that makes this place stand out from the rest is that they bring your food to your table instead of giving it to you at the counter. Looks clean and servers very neat and cleancut. However I found a piece of cellophane wrap in my sandwich. After notifying a wandering employee of this matter I thought another sandwich would be brought out to replace the one with the plastic in it. Imagine my surprise when the worker threw the plastic in the trash can and said nothing to supervisor about it.I had To go up to the counter myself to get my money refunded. The employee verified to the manager that he had thrown a piece of cellophane that I had given him out when asked by manager about what had transpired. Disbelief that the employee thought I should continue to eat the sandwich with plastic in it and stunned that nothing would have been done if didn't request my money back....why did he think I told him about it??? It saddens my heart to give a Chick-fil-A location anything less than 5 stars! I am a huge fan of this restaurant chain and have been disappointed on both of my visits here. Our first visit through the drive thru was for two meals (original chicken sandwich meal and a spicy chicken sandwich meal). When we drove away down the Merritt Parkway, we realized that we had two spicy chickens instead of what we ordered. In addition, the fries were cold and VERY undercooked. Our 2nd visit was again through the drive thru. We ordered a chicken sandwich meal and an 8-piece nugget meal (both with diet cokes). When she repeated our order for accuracy, she had three value meals with large iced teas. I'm not sure what the confusion was because it was 9:30 pm and we were the only patrons in the drive thru. We politely repeated our order again and it was read back to us correctly. When we got up to the window, a gentleman repeated our order incorrectly and handed us iced teas and the wrong order. Again - how can this happen since we are the only patrons in the drive thru???? They were happy to give us the correct order, however, when we drove away - the food tasted cold and the fries were bland and soggy. This is by far the worst experience we've ever had at a Chick-fil-A. We usually rave about them, experience exceptional customer service and friendliness. I hope that they get their act together here because we'd love to try it again. read more

I really like their chicken sandwich, but it is going to be a while before I go back. Been there three times, and each time it has been disappointing. I waited until they had been open a while and the crowds had died down, but they still don't seem to have it together. First time I ordered a chicken sandwich and soda. 15 minutes later, still no sandwich. They keep telling me it will be right out, then discovered that someone else got my order. Second time I went to the drive in for waffle fries. They tell me they won't have any for another half hour, and then I am stuck in the drive through lane for 20 minutes. Third time went through the drive through and after a 20 minute wait they have my order (chicken sandwich, soda and a water) wrong, they left off the water. I spend 5 minutes explaining that I want BOTH water and soda. Ten minutes later they figure out how to add a water to the order. As I said, I really like their chicken sandwich, but not worth going through this aggravation. Based on other reviews it seems like the service is getting worse, not better. Chick Fil A is the fastest fast food restaurant I have ever been in. There was a line of more than 25 people and it took only about 5 minutes to place my order. The workers are very nice and careful to get the order right. Once I placed my order I go to get a straw and some napkins and my food was ready before I even sat down! The chicken sandwich, spicy chicken sandwich and the bean and chicken soup taste great. The chicken is very tender and has a mild flavor. The lemonade is made with real lemons and they have one with Splenda for me. The fried potato chips are average. The price of the salads seems high and I have not tried them yet for that reason so maybe the price is worth it. The cole slaw tastes very good. I could literally eat there several times a week the food is so good. Oh! I have! I also believe they use peanut oil to fry the chicken which is more healthy than most oils. They also are picky with the chicken they use and is shows in the taste. The only things I do not like are how the drive through cars circle around the whole restaurant when it is busy and they can look in at you when you are at a window seat. The drive through gives very fast service. The other thing is that sometimes it is so busy, the tables do not get cleaned fast enough for me when I choose a seat. This just shows how so many people like this place. I really like this place. I am betting the business will last for many years and this is not a fad. Very good chicken! read more

They need better management at this location that care about their customers. When you mess up your customers order you should make it right not inconvenience them.
