Expresssssssssssssss..... certainly true! For some reason my family, during long car rides, likes to hit up chicken express for the meal of the trip. I'm not complaining as in general I like Chicken Express. As with all fast food places however there are good locations and sucky locations... fortunately this one is a great location! We went through the drive through and received the nicest order taker I think I have ever had. She was good too... clear, precise, and pleasant. Have you ever had their corn nuggets... fresh and hot... they are creamed corn deep fried to a golden brown... sweet little gold bites of pure "bad for" you deliciousness! When we got to the window the gentleman giving us our order was again extremely polite and speedy. Their chicken is just sooooo juicy when done well... tender and crisp... add a bit of hot sauce and it is fast food chicken Nirvana! I'm not much of a fan of fast food but had a taste for fish. DH was wanting his 3-PC chicken dinner so I got the 2-PC fish fillet combo. We were informed that the fish is fresh and it'll be a 10-11minute wait. No problem and let me tell you it was WELL worth the wait. The fish was tender, flaky, very lightly cornmeal breaded (thank you and yum) and no trace of oil. SO GOOD. I was scared it'd be over salted but no, I could enjoy the fish and not just be eating batter. And before I leave I have to comment about the most friendly lady at the window. She was so nice and left a wonderful impression on us. I don't know her name but she was working the window at noon on 9/18/20. Please let her know she's appreciated. Went in and ordered a combo meal. The combo meal with a drink was supposed to be $9.49 when they check me out it ended up being $11.99. The clerk could not explain to me why it added on the extra $2.50 to my ticket. My ticket says large mix which doesn't mean anything to me. My order # was 265 @ 7:20 PM on 2/28/2021 with Leonardo P. as the employee identified on the ticket. We ordered one order of chicken tenders regular and one order chicken tender spicy. The chicken itself was pretty good but you had to get through the enormous amount of flour crust. The cole slaw was runny. My wife liked the corn-on-the-cob and the mashed potatoes were fine. The gravy was luke warm. All-in-all it was fast food at its typical. Just marginal. Now the wait was ridiculous. We pulled into the drive-thru at 7:00 PM and did not get to the speaker until 7:20 PM and then it took until 7:41 to actually get to the service window and wait for our order. I understand that they are buy in the evening and you cannot predict extremely large orders but c'mon, 45 minutes? I could have gone to a sit down restaurant. The staff was distant and uncommunicative. I will state that one extra tender was placed in both orders and the young man at the window did apologize for the wait (even though he didn't even look at me). I went into chicken express today with a VERY simple order and the man that took my order was very rude and seemed like he was angry that I needed to order some sides and a drink. He even went to talk to one of the fellow employees after taking my order leaving me to get my own receipt after they were done talking he brought me, my drink and the person in the window got on there phone and the one with the blue hair walked by me without asking if I needed any help or even if I need a refill on my drink i felt completely ignored not only by them but by everybody that was working. I love the chicken tenders and the white gravy to dip them in. The fries also taste really good. We all loved the rolls and my 5 year old couldn't get enough of them. They also serve Diet Dr. Pepper.
