For fried chicken its decent enough... then again it is hard to mess up fried chicken. The upside is that they have some good dry seasoning for the chicken that gives the rather bland bird a little kick - something other places like Cain's could use to be honest. The reason it only got three stars isn't because of the chickens its because of the other items they serve that aren't up to snuff. Fish is an item to be avoided, having been there several times with my family and having had numerous attempts at fish the verdict is that it is almost always overcooked, sometimes to the point of being inedible. Would be nice of the fry cook would learn that fish cook very fast and you can overcook it if your aren't very careful... Or if they would use a beer batter on the fish so it wouldn't cook quite so fast, the coating they use if your basic corn meal which mean the optimum fry time for the fish is going to be a very narrow window - they miss it every time, the only question is by how much. Other sides are decent enough but I would avoid the okra as it can be hit or miss as they sometimes overcook it. read more

People working aren't always the nicest, but I think the food is the best fast food there is!

People love this place. It's okay. Lots of great sides and huge portions, but I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

This is a gem for take out chicken. The chicken tenders have a great crust and tender center. The chicken wings are different but quite tasty. And the green beans are delightful. They have chicken gravy which is pretty good and several sauces besides the gravy. Including a jalapeño ranch that my husband loves. Because it is almost in Bixby, I only go there when I visit Costco. I wish there was one closer to Midtown Tulsa. read more

The food here is terrible. Fries have been sitting under a heat lamp for who knows how long. What ever chicken dish you may get is mostly breading that the got carried with. The ice tea is fair. The service is very slow. read more

The chicken tenders of my only two pieces of tenders meal was stringy and had grizzle, so they were difficult to bite into and chew, so not enjoyable and I put most of them into a napkin. The gravy tasted just like flour, water and pepper but maybe it's supposed to, I don't know. I didn't care for it one bit. The green beans tasted like canned Italian green beans, and the tea tasted like instant tea - not fresh brewed. How this a treat? That's what eating out is to me, a treat - a break away from the tedium of home cooking, and I don't expect instants foods, canned or boxed goods. Sadly, Chicken Express uses styrofoam cups. It appears that I am now one who has a sensitivity to styrofoam, because their tea poured into my cup, as well as the lemonade that I replaced the tea with, have both left a strong metallic, chemical taste, and the tip of my tongue is tingly and with a metallic taste. The foam cup that came in contact with my upper lip is still having an odd sensation, as well as the tip of my tongue. It would be good of Chicken Express if they would consider offering alternative cups to avoid the chemical reactions of styrofoam. I had no idea this was about to happen, and I told the counter lady I could taste a chemical reaction but she didn't know what to say or do. I think she might have offered a refund on my drink that I wasn't able to drink and needed to toss out. I doubt I'll ever return for another meal there. I went out for lunch and, to my surprise, wasn't able to consume my meal so am still hungry and unhappy. I paid for three people to eat there. Very disappointing to waste so much money. I had never had Chicken Express before, although I knew it was a popular choice in Texas and had heard friends rave about how good it was. I ran through the drive thru on a Tuesday evening. The drive thru was moving pretty slowly. I don't know if it was that the cars in front of me just ordered a lot of food or if this is common for them. I was impressed by the amount of options they had available, but decided to stick with the first thing I saw-chicken tenders. Along with your main dish, you get to choose a side. I was impressed by the amount of sides available. I initially wanted the fried pickles, but they were out of them, so I went with the friend okra. The meal also comes with your choice of biscuit or roll (I went with biscuit) and gravy. The chicken had a really good flavor to it. I enjoyed the breading on it and the sizes of the tenders were good. By biscuit tasted decent, but was pretty small. The best part of my meal, by far, was the fried okra. The breading had a little bit of spice to it, and I liked it! They also gave a good sized portion of it. One tip-Don't order mozzarella sticks as your side. My fiance' made that mistake and they only gave him two small sticks, which was disappointing. read more

I can't speak for the sides here, but this is my chicken place. I start craving it and can't think of anything else until I get in the car and go get it. I used to be a KFC fan and now I can't eat that stuff anymore, too salty. I find this Chicken Express chicken to have just the right amount of crunch and salt. They run a special on Sundays that can't be beat, ten pieces of mixed chicken for ten bucks! I am a sucker for that one, who needs sides? The chicken is alway nice and hot and juicy and I have found the people to be very friendly to me. And it is way too close to my house! Tell me this chicken has no calories please... read more
