food - though i'd wanted to try the restaurant in large part because it resides in the building that previously contained my all-time favorite taco bueno location, the food served at the sharks restaurant is very much distinct from the former residing business. and further considering the restaurant name, i attempted to think like the ocean-dwelling apex predator might, and for a casual weekday lunch like that i'd partook in yesterday, my selection was a less imposing, though none less majestic, fish species, the catfish. and in nugget form, served with a refreshing strawberry frozen lemonade, delicious fries, expertly battered hush puppies, well-seasoned coleslaw, and creamy tartar sauce, my shark-imitating brain barely remembered that my meal originated in an environment beyond that of us land dwellers. nevertheless, my only minor critique of the whole meal is the coleslaw was a little bit creamier than i'd prefer, but that said, the oh-so-sweet strawberry frozen lemonade exceeded all expectation such as to supercede any cause for calling the lunch by any adjective other than perfect. service - the man who received my order was nice and very personable, and exuded an aura suggesting an enjoyment of the work he does that is relatively rare among workers at carry-out counters at which i've ordered in the past. furthermore, the young woman who delivered the order was kind and personable also. she displayed excellent customer service, by my estimation, in how she asked if i'd like any sauce with my meal, and then politely confirmed just the one kind when I requested tartar sauce. ambiance - although i did not take any pictures of the restaurant interior, in which i'd ordered and waited for the food, that may be a positive omission if it encourages potential guests to order inside rather than through the drive-thru window, an experience i'd recommend as fulfilling, especially to former frequenters of the past taco bueno location, because of the structural resemblance to the earlier restaurant, but with a fresh color palette of teal, yellow, and splashes of red. read more

First time ordering from here. It's was good and 8 love that you can mix and match on the pick 3 combo. I ordered catfish steaks, catfish filets,and 10 pc medium shrimp. It came with fries and coleslaw and I added a small Fried pickle order. I really enjoyed the flavor of the coleslaw. Sweet and crunchy! The fish was most although I wish it were a bit crisper but still good. It also came with 2 slice of regular bread just fyi. My only drawback is I wish there were options for the size. One day Eduardo's bright yellow building is supplying the hood with Mexican food happiness and the next day it is Shark's Fish and Chicken. I know how you must feel. Yet, another chicken and fish, fast food restaurant. If this location had been your weekly lunch spot, I hope you like chicken or fish. Burritos No Más! Well, there is good news. Great lunch combo meal pricing at Shark's. $7.99 will get you your choice of one of eight different lunch combo meals with a drink, fries and coleslaw. I had the five whole wings combo. The chicken wings were small. The cook threw in an extra. My wife had the 1 catfish fillet with 5 medium shrimp. Both meals came with slaw, crinkle cut fries and a slice of bread. I added a side of red beans and rice. The chicken had a thin light flour coating, lightly seasoned, delivered to the table blazing hot from the fryer. Extreme, perfect crispness, delicious flavor, moist tender chicken meat. The shrimp was finished with the same coating. The catfish had a substantial cornmeal coating. My wife rated the shrimp over the catfish. All, including the fries, perfectly fried. Shark's coating and frying technique is spectacular. They must have the oil very hot to get this perfect crispness, but still maintain moist tenderness inside the food. The red beans and rice weren't that great. The beans were more the consistency of refried beans. A thick tasty paste. Good flavor, but mostly rice in the little container. Not bad, but not recommended. I am really surprised. I didn't think I would like another "chicken place." For the price, these Shark's lunch specials are a hell of a delicious filling bargain. I hardly ever eat wings out. These were good. Try the shrimp also! Absolutely recommended! The service is friendly/adequate. There was a young man going back inside the restaurant when we went in. Apparently, there was something missing from his order. It took the staff an excessive amount of time to fix a simple mistake. Communication seemed to be the biggest problem. We had to wait until all of this was resolved before we could order. Order and pay at the counter. The food is delivered to your table. Oh, about Eduardo. The gizzards, wings, and everything else. Here is awesome! Best gizzards, and probably the best wings I've had in the city, but definitely the best gizzards! The owner is extremely personable and works his butt off along with the other employees.
