We both got chicken chunks and one side which cost $6.99. I didn't think it was a good value, but still a better value than the pressed chicken in most fast food chicken nuggets. None of the sides looked good and certainly were not worth $2.79 each. I got instant potatoes and gravy. I asked for extra gravy to dip the chicken in. I would recommend doing this because they don't have any sauces for the chicken chunks except small envelopes of bbq sauce. Dan got 2 chicken chunks and broccoli and rice. He didn't like his side. I noticed they offer a whole rotisserie chicken for $24.99. That sells for $5 at Sam's. I wouldn't consider our dish overpriced if the chicken chunks were larger and the sides were better. Two "chunks" of fried breast meat, each about the size of a golf ball along with a side of broccoli-rice casserole. The chicken was very salty and the side was mostly rice. When I asked the lady at the counter for a salad with chicken, she looked in the refrigerated display case. Sorry we are out she said. But she would check in the back. She found one. They list a chicken chunk salad on their menu. As it turns out it is really just a side salad and you can get it with cut up chicken chunks. The salad looks to be a franchise packaged product. This location closed a few years ago. I thought 'well, it figures, they could never get their act together.' Then I was stunned to see it re-opened a year or so later. I guess they were 'remodeling.' I only go there, through the drive through, a few times a year. For their daily specials and NOTHING ELSE. When I just can't stomach any of the usual fast food, and I am tempted by their turkey dressing, dumpings or meatloaf. And I regret it every time. They always, ALWAYS screw something up. DO NOT pull away from the drive thru without unpacking and checking your order. They WILL screw it ip. EVERY TIME. You can 'remodel' as much as you want, it does no good if you have no interest in giving customers what they paid for. I have patronized charlies for years, but my visit on 8/20/22 is my last. Both the online menu and the drive up menu state that a drink comes with the listed dinners. When I ordered my three dinners I was not told that the drinks were now a 2 dollar upcharge.I was only asked what drinks I wanted. This is sleazy and fraudulent. I moved away from Tulsa so I haven't been to Charlie's Chicken in the last two years. When I went to the Charlie's at 3205 S. Garnett in Tulsa March 16 at1:45 pm.for lunch, I accompanied a friend to have him try the chicken. My friend had a couple of chicken thighs which he told me they were very good. I ordered one half pint of the gizzards which contained 10 gizzards. I had my friend try the first gizzard . He chewed on it for about a dozen times before removing it from his mouth to tell me it was very hard to chew. I tried one with his 2nd sample,we both removed the gizzards because they too were what made me think of a split in half , battered and fried supper ball. I discribed the better gizzards I have had in the past at competitive chicken restaurants to whom I won't mention so I don't come over as making a plug of advertising for them. We chewed the good tasting batter from the nuggets and gave nature the un chewable gizzards. This was the first order of gizzards I have purchased at Charlie's, which I would like to try them one more time to find if this was a mishap day or if this is the norm. The nearby competition chicken restaurants are very close by but their lines were long so we decided on Charlie's. I will try Charlie's in the next upcoming week for lunch (gizzards) for a second chance. If disappointed, I will wait in line at the other restaurants to get my chicken. Charlie's,please don't take this personally,take this as a professional restaurant owner, not even my attempts to fry gizzards are not eaten. I'm hopeful for next weeks visit. read more
