I've been a regular at this Chicken Kitchen, but tonight was unacceptable. I ordered a salad and after paying, realized the pita bread was missing. When I asked about it, the lady said they were out, so I politely requested a tortilla instead. The man behind the counter rudely told her not to give me one unless I paid extra -- even though I had already paid for my meal. His behavior was rude, but what's worse is the hygiene. He was handling food with no gloves, no hair covering, and talking directly over the open food containers. That's a serious health concern -- completely unsanitary and a potential risk for food contamination or food poisoning. I eat here often, and the ladies who usually work are always professional and kind, but this man's behavior and lack of basic food safety standards were unacceptable. So I download the Chicken Kitchen app (it's really not an app, it's just a version of their website) and it says the same thing as the website - contact the specific location for assistance. Um, I did that! There is no option to fix my order. Now I'm out half my order and they refuse to fix it. Never ordering from them again. Dear Chicken Kitchen, I was super excited about eating the Original Chop Chop for the first time based on some really great reviews from previous patrons. I was very dissappointed. Not only did the plate look extremely boring (a large plate of lots of yellow rice and a less than ample serving of seemingly seasonless, dry chicken). When the server gave me my dish i looked at it like "is that it?" And she noticed because she quickly directed me to the various sauces located on the counter behind me. OH! I thought-this must be some good ass sauce and its gonna take this dish up a notch. NOT! It tasted like nothing more than a curried salad dressing. I just didn't get what all the hoopla was about so I'm gonna have to pass on a return visit. My husband on the other hand REALLY LIKED IT!!! And evidently so did the people who quickly formed the long line as we exited. He tried my original, but ordered the Teriyaki Chop Chop and would order it again. Although he agreed with me that my dish looked boring and dry and didn't have that much flavor, he enjoyed the curry sauce and especially liked the yellow rice. We both agreed that the Teriyaki Chicken looked more appetizing at first sight and upon sampling it myself it was far better than the original, but still not something i would order again. He thought it was juicy and flavorful. He took both of our leftovers home for a late night snack. Just moved to the area and had tried this the other day in Fort Lauderdale. The other location was delicious and I felt as though it was a great value for the price so I was excited when I discovered that there was one here on the beach. This location was very disappointing in comparison. An older African-American gentleman helped me he wasn't very friendly he also measured everything very precisely which they did not do at the other store. I got four times more rice than chicken. Also the chicken was dry. In the other location they were cooking the chicken more so to order and when I walked in the store they were offering samples of the fresh product. You're much better off going across the street to Pollo Tropical. You get a lot more food for a lower price and the quality is just as good. One thing I HATE about Chicken Kitchen is they use this measuring cup to measure the chicken so portions are controlled. The potions of chicken are always too small and who knows what kind of bacteria is growing in that cup. A shame because their chicken is pretty tasty. read more

Recently some friends went to Chicken Kitchen, and they piqued my interest. The menu has expanded since the last time I visited, so I decided to give Chicken Kitchen another try. I went for lunch on a Friday, and I was surprised with how busy it was. I didn't realize so many people liked Chicken Kitchen. For my meal I got the Mexican Chop Chop. The Mexican Chop Chop has the regular rice, and chicken with a Mexican twist. Some additional toppings are cheese, black beans, tomatoes, and lettuce. I also paid a bit extra to add guac to my dish. The chop chop was pretty good. Nothing out of this world, but it was filling, and tasted really good. I would visit Chicken Kitchen for another quick, filling lunch.
