My husband and I love this place and hopefully my experience yesterday evening is an anomaly. I went thru drive thru and order 3 quick chicks (1 large and 2 small). Made it home and noticed I was given 3 small. Looked at my receipt and was charged for 1 large and 2 small. After a long day I had to get back in my car and return to the store. They did correct the order but my complaint is the manager never said "Sorry this happened", "Is there anything else we can do", etc. When she handed me the correct order she said "Here you go." and turned around and walked away. there has genuinely NEVER been a time my to-go order was correct. i do not eat pork, every time i order the pasta salad, i get broccoli salad (which is covered in bacon). usually i can check my food and they fix it for me with ease, but when someone else is grabbing our lunch and cannot check everyone's food- you better expect something to be wrong. I mean EVERY time. I can recall at least 10 times my lunch is literally ruined because I CANNOT eat pork. It feels like a sick joke at this point because it has happened so often. why can't it be grape salad on accident? or any other pork-free side? so, so disappointed. I've been eating at chicken salad ever since the first one open up in Auburn, Al. The Huntsville location could use some improvement as sometimes they put such little scoops on sandwiches or the grape salad is mushy. I always choose the pasta salad as my side. The Classic Carol Chicken Salad consist of all white meat, shredded chicken, finely minced celery, mayonnaise, & their secret seasoning. It is very simple but tasty. I really enjoy it when I'm in a Chicken Salad mood. The pasta salad they serve as a side is also very good. I enjoy the pasta salad. The Dixie chick chicken salad was awesome! It had an onion flavor that was not overpowering. The soup tasted unseasoned but it's their chicken salad I came for anyway. Much faster experience this time! I came in, sat down and ate within 25 minutes. It was still very crowded but not as bad this time. There were a lot less people standing around waiting for food. The tables were all used when I got there. Interestingly, there was table of ladies that did not know each other prior to eating there. They just all wanted to sit down to eat and all packed into the first table they could find. I was welcomed to their table since I was there alone. If this is a trend here I like it. CSC is always consistent, which I appreciate. I usually get the Old South because it has pickles and egg. I'd prefer a little celery as well, but it's still always good. Tried this place today after a friend told me he loved it. I love chicken salad so had to go! They have lots of varieties of chicken salad, some spicy, some fruity, and of course classic. I got the fancy Nancy which has grapes, apple and pecans. I chose a cup of potato soup as my side. I ordered my chicken salad as a sandwich in a croissant. I think it would be better if the croissant was toasted or heated up but it was still good. I thought it was weird that the grapes were whole and not cut up. The soup was really good, I wish there wasn't bacon in it. I think the bacon was mainly just added to the top so I probably could have asked for no bacon, and next time I will. Came in at 7:30pm and they close at 8pm. Only one person at the order counter. Not a big deal for me, but the whole time we were ordering, ready food was sitting in the window because they didn't have a runner. As I was leaving the order counter, I noticed the cook had his phone on the cutting board and was making food and using it at the same time with his gloves on. I had to ask him to change gloves. Couldn't let that one go. I mean people use their phones in the bathroom. Food was good and fresh as always. Just can't touch your phone with gloves on. Yum! A substantial sandwich for a "chick spot." I got the Fancy Nancy with apples, grapes, and nuts on wheat bread. Bread is thin and gummy, but the chicken salad is tasty and plentiful. It's the shredded chicken with lots of mayo dressing kind. Fruit side is good--not a mountain of old melon, but rather the good stuff. Grapes and strawberries. I'm dairy-free, so if you're concerned about dairy in the chick salad, you're good to go. I'd recommend skipping the bread and probably going for the croissant or just the scoop. Comes with drink, pickle, a side, and a little cookie for less than $10. Service is friendly, and the atmosphere is very "ladies who lunch." They could do with making it a little less feminine/juvenile in terms of decor, but it's clean and my window seat is a great people watching spot. read more

Good food, but awful service, they can't even answer the phone!!!! I won't be back. Love this place, and am so happy they decided to extend their hours past lunch time. The food is always great and the employees are always super friendly. My only complaint is that they need to hire more people. Last time we visited we waited exactly 23 minutes for our food. So I got in the regular line - long, unmasked, no social distancing- to pick up the food I'd already ordered and paid for. There were unmasked people all over the place, sitting around the dining room. My mother is immune compromised, there was no way I could deliver this bag of food to her.
