Fresh salad. Great portions. Order was ready earlier than promised. Always enjoy eating at Newks. One of our go to restaurants.

Some Friends suggested we should all meet up here for lunch recently. At first I was a bit hesitant about going here but majority ruled. I was pleasantly surprised with the Mix & Match where one can choose 2 or 3 smaller portion items together. Went with 3 because I didn't think 2 would be enough. The shrimp was perfectly cooked on both items. Eventually had to pack up my soup to -go because the satisfying portions were more than enough. Friendly, fast and expediant service from order to delivery to our table. The cleanliness of the dining area was also very impressive. read more

Hubs and I stopped by Newk's today for takeout at 11. The restaurant had about 8 customers. We ordered the new Chili Taco Salad, a Greek Salad and a Double Club Sandwich to go. After watching people receive their food 20 minutes later, we asked about our order. The young lady behind the counter said it wasn't ready so we waited. After 15 more minutes I went back up to ask about our food and was told it would be out. Five minutes later our order was placed on the wire shelves by the door for App orders where people come in, search for their names, and pick up their orders. I went to check the orders placed on the wire racks and the lady behind the counter walked up to tell me my order was accidentally put on the shelf. Yay, food was ready and we left. The Greek Salad from Newk's is my favorite and it always scores 5 out of 5. The Chili Taco Salad was a huge disappointment. There wasn't enough chili in the container. It tasted like it came out of a can. I wasn't impressed at all. We both rated 2 out if 5. Hubs loved his Double Club Sandwich and rates it 5 out of 5. Overall score is 3 stars due to the order being late and the lack of chili to put on the Chili Taco Salad. The Greek Salad is fire. We will return. read more

Newk's is always a go to for lunch. They have delicious food with great customer service. Our order is always quick and correct.

Although the food was absolutely delicious, it was a little pricey. We had two sandwich/soup combos and two teas for almost $50. Service wasn't bad at all and our food was brought out promptly. No bad ratings.... Just a little pricey is all. And coming from Denver CO, that's saying something. read more

I love the layout it was very nice and spacious. The service was so great, everyone was helpful and very polite. My sandwich was so delicious I have been back multiple times and gotten the same thing. Every time I've been there the service has been top quality. University Drive Location - This is a great little sandwich and pizza shop, with multiple locations here in the Rocket city. There is plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor seating is plentiful, and free refills on drinks! Ordering is easy, food comes quickly, and it's a good little vibe. There are male and female bathrooms with no gender neutral bathrooms (insert sad face here), or changing stations. I ordered the Mediterranean Pizza with the cauliflower crust (up charge of course, because it's healthy), and my wife had the chicken salad sandwich with fruit on the side. Typically I really like Newk's salads although they tend to be a bit pricey. Today was a complete miss at the University location. I ordered the shrimp and avocado salad which comes in arugula. I received a small salad with a few shrimp and avocado on lettuce. When I told the lady that this was supposed to be arugula I was told "no ma'am, we don't even have arugula". I gave it a whirl anyhow but will never order that salad again. The price is a bit higher and it doesn't even come as advertised. It was terrible. I will give Newk's one more chance to get things right. read more

We ordered from doordash and always loved the newk in Houston. This one was very close to home. I haven't been dining so unsure of the restaurant itself. 4/5 Black and Bleu salad w/customization Delicious. My husband loves this salad. He always orders this. This time I wanted to change it up so I just added croutons. They were able to accommodate this and he was happy. The only issue we had was the cut was a bit thicker than he prefers. It was too chunky and should have been sliced thinner. 3/5 Shrimp and avocado salad w/customization I typically always order this salad. This time I exchanged the arugula for green mix and also changed the vinaigrette for Caesar dressing. They were able to change the arugula but completely forgot the avocado. I was able to tell doordash and got a credit back for it. Other than that I enjoyed the big shrimps and the quantity they had in there. I would definitely order again. read more

We utilized their catering, box lunch service for a group of 20z Everything was beautifully packaged. I chose a deluxe chopped salad that had turkey ham, lots of veggies and a delicious honey mustard dressing. The giant rice krispy treats for desert were a win for the office, we loved them! We have been visiting Newk's quite often here lately. I can't believe I haven't done a review of it yet. We both love to visit here for a nice lunch date. I have recently discovered the Black and Bleu salad and absolutely love it. The dressing is great, the steak in it is super tender and tastes great too. I'd highly recommend giving it a try. My wife seems to always get her fav, which is a half salad and half grilled cheese sandwich. It's made with pimento cheese and I must say is pretty impressive for a cheese sandwich. Something else we both love is that they make Splenda sweet tea. So no Splenda packets and trying to mix it all up at the table. read more

Always fast and reliable service. If a mistake is made they jump right on it to get it corrected. Eat there at least fwice a week.

Newks is a pretty good sandwich spot. It has become mine and my husband's go to place for sandwiches. We always order the same thing every time we go. The staff is always nice and the food is always good. I always order the Chicken Pesto Sandwich with no bell peppers or goat cheese and I add Swiss cheese, tomato, lettuce, and onion on wheat bread. My husband always orders the Chicken Salad Sandwich. The funny thing is my husband doesn't really eat Chicken Salad any other time but will always order it from here. We use to always order the half sandwich and half Kale Caesar but I think the Kale Caesar was a seasonal item. It was sooo good. They should put it on the regular menu. I love the Chicken Pesto Sandwich. The bread is very good, soft, and moist. It also has the perfect chew which goes well with the other ingredients. My husband really likes the Chicken Salad Sandwich. Overall, Newks has good salads, sandwiches and soups. We always come here if we want a good sandwich. Definitely better than a Subway or Quiznos. read more

Where do I start! I recently had Newk's at a catered event. How do you make pasta salad with no taste? I had a chicken sandwich with chicken that was like rubber. It was somewhat thinly sliced but had all the characteristics of an inner tube! That wasn't the worst of it. My friend had some kind of croissant that had a big black hair underneath the plastic wrap! Dear god how does that get past basic QC! Gordon Ramsay would have gone nuts. I visit Huntsville every few months and always ensure I stop in for a lunch at Newk's! You can't go wrong with their potato soup and half sandwich combo- I get the turkey and cheese. Their drinks are large plastic cups you can easily take on the go without refilling every 5 minutes. I love how they offer a selection pickles, breadsticks, pepperchinis, etc. to top of your meal. The restaurant is always clean and quick with extremely friendly service. Definitely give this place a try! read more

Read their story on internet. Good reviews so we went for a carry out for soup. I am almost hit floor for 2 carry out soups for $12.00 ! The soup was good but not 12.00 good. Not sure if it is made at location since we had to wait for truck to arrive. It looked clean and wait staff ( counter people) were nice. The people and food are great! I sit here eating this high priced but good food and I'm shivering as it is, no joke, 54 degrees in here. I am shivering. Everyone else is in their heavy winter jackets and ski caps, shivering. It's so obvious but evidently the manager on duty is "cool" with it. I really don't know why I try to give this place a chance. Have tried 3 times and I'm done. Out of 2 of the soups tonight. Wife got a "Royal" sandwich with no meat. Seriously? I LOVE Newk's! The people here are the friendliest, most helpful people, and the food is fresh, original and ample. The "bar" with spicy jalepenos, peppers, sauces just makes me so happy. The iced tea variety (made with spenda, unsweet, or tea) and the huge cups make me happy. I have had two things here that I adore - the black and blue salad -- rare roast beef, grape tomatoes, crunchy pecans, blue cheese, red onion and of course I get balsamic dressing and add spicy peppers. The greek was phenomenal - tons of olives, sliced pepperoncini (so they don't squirt at you when you bite into them), really good chicken that was off of a grill (not reconstituted like the stuff from Panera, Atlanta bread, etc.). This is a great lunch spot - soup, salad, sandwich - they deliver. I would go here weekly if I could! read more

Newks is one of those places you go when you need sustenance, don't eat fat food, and can't think of anywhere else to go. It's quick, convenient with 2 locations, and the food is slightly above Panera quality. I do like the pizzas becasue they are large enough to save leftovers for the next day, and come with plenty of toppings. The salads are decent as well although don't try to customize one as they have yet to get one of my salad orders correct. What I really don't like about this place are the girls who ring you up. Why are they so sullen? I've been coming here for months and have not seen the attitudes change-I think that must be one of the interview questions when they hire someone-"so, how well can you frown at a customer?" Oh, and they hate being asked questions so make sure you don't have any of those. As long as you know what you want and don't have any substitutions for any of the pizza or salad ingredients, just throw your money over the counter and you should be OK. read more

This is the first time I've been to Newk's in several years. When I lived in Tuscaloosa I went to the one there a few times and was never very impressed with the food. However, the one here in Huntsville was great. I had a half salad half sandwich meal with the club sandwich. Both the sandwich and salad were very good and even though they were busy the food came out pretty quickly. My boyfriend got the Debra pizza and it was fantastic. I would highly recommend that pizza or the club sandwich. It was about $20 for both of us. I will definitely be going back to Newks in the near future. read more

Newk's is a favorite spot for us because they have individual pizzas, salads, soup and sandwiches. The pepperoni pizzas are very good, a thin crust and usually golden brown on top, yum! in addition to the pepperoni it also has sliced tomatoes, I like the addition but be aware if you would rather have it without. The salads are ridiculously big but tasty. They toss the salad in the dressing which I generally appreciate but I find it often over dressed and over powering, the next time I'm going to ask them to use 1/2 the "normal" amount of dressing. I really like the chicken you can add to the salad, it's grilled and very thinly sliced. As others have mentioned the sandwiches are a bit on the small side for the price, I usually get the 1/2 and 1/2 combo so this generally doesn't bother me. This was my first newk's experience. Lots of relatively healthy choices on the menu and a solid variety of foods. Gourmet is a stretch, but compared to the choices in the area (cici's pizza, chick fillet), the choices were pretty gourmet and fresh. I got it to go, and they were quick and friendly.
