First, I appreciate that Happy (the cashier) allowed me to sample the Jill pickle beforehand. She explained it contained the dill pickle that usually accompanied their chicken salad. It was excellent, light and refreshing. I ordered the 2 scoops meal with the grape salad as my side. I got the Jill pickle and the Laura's lemony basil. Both were delicious! Each time I have been here I have enjoyed my meals. Last night, I had the Cranberry Jalapeños Chicken Salad on a Croissant and it was delicious. I never had jalapeños in my chicken salad, but now I think it's my new jam! lol The broccoli salad was tasty, too. I love the little cookie that you get as a treat with your meal. I stopped by CSC after work on 8/1/24 with my mom. I mentioned CSC to her a few weeks ago, so she brought them up while we were discussing places to grab a bite. Since I was curious to see Lambert's Point's growth into a commerce section, we headed over to try Chicken Salad Chick out. CSC is located within a brand new building - everything is clean and tidy. There's plenty of seating (including al fresco), and the line to order is sectioned off with a permanent wood divider. There are menus on tv screens above the register, and there are also physical laminated menus available opposite a small open refrigerator next to the registers. Parking is plentiful and convenient as it's situated directly outside. The bathrooms are of the single-use variety. The men's bathroom was clean and organized. The manager on duty greeted us while we looked at the menu. He was kind and patient, and eagerly offered up answers to any questions we had. I was happy to interact with him, especially since he informed us that CSC offers (something like) 11-12 different types of chicken salads. That opens up a myriad of different and exciting options as I was skeptical how a place offering essentially just chicken salad could thrive using that business model. Anyways, since it was our first time at any Chicken Salad Chick, we took our time to look over the menu. Luckily, it wasn't busy, so we weren't rushed by any employees or customers. We both decided on a sandwich meal that came with a cup of soup and a drink. I opted for a turkey club with a cup of broccoli cheese soup while mom ordered the chicken salad melt and poblano chicken soup. We gave each other a half of our sandwiches - we both liked the turkey club and chicken salad melt, and I liked my broccoli cheese soup. Mom finished her meal, whereas I took home some leftovers. Before I forget, there are multiple bread options for the sandwiches, like white, wheat, rye and croissant. This is another aspect that opens up a plethora of options at CSC. Drinks are self serve. They offer a soda fountain machine and I saw a section for teas. Once you've ordered and paid at the register, if you're dining in, they will bring your food to your table. A number is provided which you leave on your table, so they know exactly where to go. Overall, I enjoyed my lone visit to Chicken Salad Chick. Ahhmazing Chicken Salad & Service! I recently had a delightful experience at Chicken Salad Chick in Norfolk. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the immaculate cleanliness of the restaurant. The star of the show, of course, was the chicken salad. Matthew, one of the employees, was incredibly helpful and enthusiastic. He encouraged me to sample several of their unique chicken salad flavors, which was a fantastic way to discover my new favorite. I immediately spotted my perfect chicken salad, with multiple fruits included, just the way I like it. I settled on the Fruity Fran, while my husband decided on the Sassy Scotty. The Fruity Fran had apples, grapes and pineapple, and the Sassy Scotty had ranch, bacon, and shredded cheese throughout. We both ordered them as sandwiches on croissant, however, mine was topped with cheddar cheese and bacon. The only thing that would have sent this chicken salad sandwich to the next level would have been if the croissant was toasted and the chicken salad had a little more pepper. However, overall I was pleased. We also had an option of a side, husband selected mac&cheese and I settled on the loaded baked potato soup. My husband wasn't fond of the mac & cheese. And let's not forget the ice! Seriously, their crunchy soft ice is the best I've ever had. I filled my cup to the brim with a quarter sweet tea and the rest was their lemonade. Absolutely the best, so delightfully sweet. I highly recommend Chicken Salad Chick to anyone looking for a fresh and flavorful lunch or light dinner. A few things first, the parking lot spaces are tight so, don't take a big vehicle there. The folks are quite friendly and helpful. The place is CLEAN and they have free refills. The other things: The croissant for my Fruity Fran had a touch of mold on it. At first I thought it could be food transfer of some kind but when it didn't come off after I rubbed it a few times I knew it was mold. I asked hubby to check his croissant and his was fine. They were quite gracious about making me another sandwich and afterwards the owner came out to speak with us. She stated they were having some temperature control issues in their bread area and she was quite apologetic and assured me that it wouldn't happen again and they had just performed a QA check on the rest of the croissants. I know crap happens but it wasn't a good way to start our first experience. Now, as for my Fruity Fran - unfortunately it did not hold up to what I am used to from Whole Foods or Jason's Deli. Even though I love mayo this salad was a little mayo forward. I also wish the croissant had a bit more salad between the buns. I did ask for mayo packets but they weren't necessary. The salad wasn't dry in the least! The broccoli salad was quite tasty. I would have that again. I tried my husband's pasta and it seemed a little lackluster. They've recently opened and may be ironing out the kinks. If I'm down this way again I'll stop back by (we did get a free upgrade coupon) but today was a bit of a miss. Almost every time I have gone I get the Dixie Chick because it is the only chicken salad with onions and I feel like chicken salad isn't chicken salad without onions. I was greeted by the sweetest gentleman who made several suggestions as I was a newbie. The chicken salad, apropos to the name, is quite good! I got the fancy nancy and I really liked the apple pieces in it. However, I was debating on getting a sandwich or a scoop, and I got the scoop because I love eating chicken salad with crackers- only, when I got mine there were no crackers at all. I checked later and all the Yelp review photos have a bunch of crackers with theirs. I went to the counter and looked around but there were no crackers there and there were no employees at the register so I just gave up. I also got two sides, the mac n cheese and the grape salad. Do not get the mac n cheese- it was completely tasteless and I could tell from the taste and color it had been holding for a long time, also the noodles were completely mush. Maybe it's good if you don't get the end-of-the-day batch (I was there 2 hours before closing). Looks as if it had dried out and they added to tortillas strips to the soup. They should go on the side when you order to go. We were driving from ODU to drop off my daughter when we saw this place. The parking is few but two cars just came out so that's a blessing. Inside is cool and clean. There are still a lot of free table at 1:15 pm as the lunch hour patrons just left. The place is neat and airy. There are a lot of servers and they are nice to help us out being a first time guest. I chose the scoop (with out bread) and my husband chose the sandwich. Each cute tray has your choice of scoop, your choice of soup or side tray and a mjni frosted cookie. The tray came with a generous 7 small bagged saltine crackers and a pickle . Everything is delicious, fresh and tasty. We also bought their slice of white delicious white cake which just round off all we ate. Upon entering the restaurant you will notice it's extremely clean. It's very well taken care of. All the employees are really friendly and helpful. You can even sample anything if you ask. You can choose to have your chicken salad on white bread, wheat bread, a croissant or in a bowl. You can also pick different sides. We chose soup. Less than 3 weeks ago my husband and I decided to try some food from Chicken Salad Chick (near the Old Dominion University neighborhood in Norfolk Virginia). I had heard good things about Chicken Salad Chick from a friendly person at my current place of employment which piqued my interest to order food from this place on at least two different occasions within the past 3 weeks. One of my husband's meals from one of the trips was a chicken salad with a blt type of sandwich with pasta salad for the side. One of my favorite Chicken Salad meals was the Lauryn's Lemon Basil scoop with loaded potato soup and a yummy grape salad concoction with cream cheese. The drink I had was also delectable (I think and recall that it was a mix of watermelon tea and strawberry lemonade flavors).
