Soy Garlic and Cheese Snow
Kathy N.

Chicken was AMAZING. So crispy and well seasoned. Bone in chicken was super juicy and cooked just right. Snow cheese powder reminded me of kraft mac n cheese. Would love to try the yangyeom sauce next time. Location itself has lots of parking but not much seating inside. Only 2 tables that seat 4 and a bar with 5 seats. Lots of people ordered takeout. Ordering was fast and easy. Workers were nice. Food came out as fast as it can considering the chicken is fried fresh. My only complaint is I wish they had rice as a side. It would make eating the chicken feel more substantial.

Went after the husband's supervisor recommended it. It's a small space limited seats. We were greeted right away. The husband ordered a half order of boneless cheese snow and I ordered soy Garlic wings. We were told about 20-30 minutes however the wait wasn't that long. The wings were delivered hot and crispy. We enjoyed them and would definitely come back my only real small tiny complaint is that I would love more garlic on the soy garlic I think it would balance out the sweetness better but over all not a big complaint. Service was friendly we were thanked and welcomed back as we were leaving. We will definitely visit again

Fresh made to order Korean fried chicken, yum! It's my first time trying Chicko Chicken, and I gotta say, it's one of the best KFC I've had in Washington. The skin is super cripsy (even with sauce), and both soy garlic and buldak sauces are delicious. I also recommend the fries with cheese snow. The batter makes the fried extra crispy. The price is on the high side, $26.9 for a full chicken (12 pieces) half and half (2 sauces). Also, I've always gotten free radish pickle from other KFC spots, but here you will have to pay extra for it. We went during grand opening, the staff was kind enough to give my toddler a balloon to entertain him while we waited. The inside is small, a couple tables and some tall chairs for waiting; most people get it to-go Tip: 1) you get charged $.80 for a bag, but you can bring your own and tell them to skip the bag when you order 2) make it a combo for an additional $4.99 (fried + drink)

I remember when this shop first opened, when the owners were running it themselves (I believe husband and wife). Back then, customers were treated with care, attention to detail mattered, and the restaurant was clean and well-kept. My visit in 2025 was a great experience. Unfortunately, as of February 2026, that standard is no longer being met. This restaurant is small, so cleanliness should be manageable, yet it did not smell good and did not look clean. The bright lighting that once enhanced the experience now did the opposite, making the dirt on the baseboards, walls, and chairs very noticeable. Standing there waiting for service, I couldn't help but think: if the front looks like this, what does the kitchen look like? I'm writing this review as an update on how Chicko's is doing since the grand opening. If you look at my previous review, you'll see how excited and satisfied I was during my first visit. There are new hours, which isn't an issue. However, the kitchen closes at 9:30 PM. I arrived before 9:30, but there were no employees at the front. I stood there for several minutes with extremely loud music playing and couldn't even call out for help. After waiting, I started taking photos for this review. A few minutes later, at 9:32, an employee came out and told me I could not order because the kitchen had closed at 9:30. This same employee has been here recently and appears to be newer. She is often wearing headphones or looking at her phone. While that's common these days, it doesn't come across as professional or attentive to customers. For context, I'm a regular customer. I eat here and also pick up orders for DoorDash as a side hustle. I come in multiple times a week and have done so consistently since the shop opened. Despite that, I'm treated like a stranger--interactions feel robotic and not genuine. That's disappointing, especially since the business once felt like the owners truly cared. It's also unfortunate that the young man who worked here around October is no longer employed. He treated customers very well, whether they were ordering food or picking up deliveries, and he was consistently kind and professional. If you're only coming for the food, it's still good, and this may still be your spot. But if you're looking to become a regular, expect consistency, and feel confident the restaurant is clean every time, I can't confidently recommend it anymore. At least, it's no longer the spot for me. Because of this, I'll be looking for a new chicken restaurant in Federal Way. I don't support family-owned businesses that lose their focus on cleanliness, service, and care while only chasing profit.

The food is so good here that my mom wanted to drive here just for lunch after trying it cold from my aunt. They are small but soooo kind! I came here on a Saturday afternoon and people were non stop coming in. It is family owned and the chicken is better than the spots we went to in Lakewood. If you haven't stopped by, whenever you're in federal way, give it a try!

Half & Half Yangyeom & Soy Garlic
Suman K.

Ordered takeout using Chicko Chicken's website and it was so easy! We got half and half boneless wings, the flavors were yangyeom and soy garlic. The food was ready within 20 minutes as promised and well packaged. I was nervous that the wings wouldn't be as crispy once we got home, but I can confirm they remained quite crispy and both flavors were quite yummy. I will definitely come to Chicko Chicken again next time I'm in the area :)

Half-Soy Gangjung & Full-Yangyeom
Tori L.

Ordered full bone-in yangyeom & half bone-in soy gangjung, both tasted good but yangyeom had little more heat to it. My teenage kids scarfed it down fast but I managed to get a piece of each chicken. Clearly their size portions are not as big as other places so I deducted a star. I'm also glad their chicken doesn't have that raw chicken smell/taste, so we'll be back. But not tomorrow (like what the worker said..lol), but until my kids ask for it again. Love it when people have a good sense of humor.

Wow, the service was one of the best I've witnessed. The man at the counter did his best to communicate in ASL. He went above and beyond for his customers. That alone says so much h about the business. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. Now let's talk food. Wow! So crispy and freshly made. It did take over 30 minutes to get the food but it was worth it! I highly recommend the chicken. Juicy, crispy, the right amount of spice. Can't go wrong.

Half & Half of Cheese Snow and Soy Garlic.

My boyfriend and I decided to stop by to try out a new Korean fried chicken spot which apparently isn't their first location, so I definitely wanted to give it a try. As we arrived, we were welcomed warmly with the cashier. The menu is pretty concise and simple to understand. One issue with this establishment is that all other Korean restaurants or Korean fried chicken places always provide pickled radishes with an order of Korean fried chicken. This is not the cause with Chicko Chicken and they also charge for the pickled radish, which is strange and annoying. The inside is nice, very white and bright. They were playing K-pop inside. There were different tables and a counter with plenty of chairs for diners. They have a fridge with different drinks to go with your order as well. We got a half and half with cheese snow and soy garlic with French fries and opted to dine in. It took several minutes for us to get our order despite being the only ones there and there were maybe one take out order. I gave them grace though as I know they just recently opened up. They gave us these very flimsy paper boats to eat our chicken and didn't provide water, but once I asked then they decided to give us water. Additionally, there was little specks in the paper cups so it was a bit of a waste. The chicken and French fries were great though. The chicken was juicy and fried to crispy perfection. It was just really rough to eat our food as the chicken would tip over every time I tried to put it in the boat provided. I would recommend them to get plates at the very least to accommodate diners. We only chose to dine in as I hate soggy fried chicken and prefer to eat it as it comes out. Other than that, it was a really solid experience but I think other Korean fried chicken places are better as it is just a few dollars more to receive pickled radish, a salad, and better utensils.

Expensive but delicious. Everything was well coated and nice and hot. Door dash charges a few more dollars and a .99 fee. If it sits for awhile in the box, it will leak through so make sure to keep it in the bag if you are traveling or leaving on a counter. My 3 year old liked the soy garlic. The only thing I wish they also served was some rice but I will definitely be back in the future.

Soy garlic and haek buldak
Rebecca J.

This chicken is delicious! We got the soy garlic and haek buldak. The soy was perfectly crispy and juicy. The haek buldak was decently spicy and sweet. Did I mention it's not just wing? Other Korean fried chicken places are just wings, here we got real chicken pieces! Highly recommend

This place has never failed my household and has been consistent, even after the new ownership years ago. Each rice/noodle/broth bite is like being hugged by a Teddy bear, and with the crunchy (maybe even lightly pickled?) radish kimchi... how could you not want to eat here? I would not sniff at the handmade mandoo... those dumplings didn't come from a frozen package from HMart, so make sure you get at least a 6 pc order in. The shoyu-based dipping sauce is optional, really. You could enjoy with or without it. Tip: add a little bit of the radish kimchi brine to your soup broth for a next level spicy flavor bomb bite. However, I had a horrible experience with service in May. It was by far the WORST service I've ever received, even based Asian restaurant standards (iykyk). I've always had older servers, usually ladies but on occasion on gentleman. This time, it was a young girl. It was my first time seeing her there. She had no facial expression to start. And after she repeated our orders, it was incorrect so I correct her. She said "I know", and repeated the wrong order again. When I clarified by listing the correct order, she just rolled her eyes and walked away. Isn't it a server's job to take order, and make sure it's correct? I did not take away from the tips because there are other servers who helped bring our food and refill the banchans, but this encounter made me not want to go back for a while, despite how much I like the food. After spending way too much time browsing Yelp reviews, we landed on this restaurant and decided to give it a try. The staff were very friendly and attentive throughout our meal, which made for a great dining experience. We opted for the premium AYCE menu that included the wagyu beef and all of the available menu items. The meal started with the side dishes, but unfortunately, they weren't our favorite. None of them really stood out to us. We also ordered a few small dishes, including the tofu soup and kimchi fried rice, and while they were decent, they didn't leave much of an impression. As for the meats, our favorites were the marinated chicken, spicy pork, and bulgogi beef. Everything else--including the wagyu beef, beef short ribs, shrimp, scallops, and pork ribs--was good but didn't quite live up to our expectations, especially considering we chose the premium option. The surprise highlight of the meal was the ice cream at the end. It was delicious and definitely our favorite part of the experience. If you visit, don't skip dessert! Overall, the portions were generous, the service was excellent, and we appreciated the variety of meats and dishes available. We were also misled in the fact that we thought we could get fried chicken here only to find out they don't have it on their menu anymore. This was during a Friday evening around 6pm, and my friend and I got seated immediately since the restaurant was empty. You've got a lot of tables inside that are relatively clean and seat mostly groups of 4 or so. News in Korean is playing on a TV nearby, and the interior just feels calming with the uniform wooden floors and tables. Menu is limited here though most of it is for their traditional hangover soups. My friend and I wanted some meat dishes so we got both their spicy pork and beef bulgogi on sizzling grills. Both meats came sizzling when brought to our table, though they weren't piping hot from what I remember. Spicy pork was hard to chew at times, and my friend had to spit out one piece because it was too hard. It wasn't too spicy though I think it would have benefited from more spice since the flavor wasn't too strong. The beef bulgogi was both of our favorites, though the color wasn't too appealing and I felt there was a ton of liquid, as if the beef was plated before all the water evaporated from the pan. Service was top-notch for both of us, though. Staff were attentive in answering our questions, grabbing our utensils and getting us water when we asked. I felt this was a one-off visit because we didn't get the dishes this place is more well-known for, so I'll come back again to have their hangover soups instead.

As the rest of my part arrived, we ordered a combo T, mala jjampong, gan jajang, creamy shrimp, chili shrimp, and shrimp fried rice. A table cleared up near us, and our waitress politely asked if we would like to attach another table to make room for all the food we ordered. I appreciated this so much as I was worried about how all the food would fit. It was so much better with the other table as food arrived and the portions are so huge so it was super appreciated that the waitress helped us out. The food was probably some of the best Korean-Chinese food that I have ever had in Washington.
