One of our favorite places when we are downtown South Bend. Friendly staff. Food is consistently good. Great coffee! Love the coffee shop vibe, too.

Looking for a casual breakfast place while in town for a wedding, we found Chicory Cafe downtown. No wait for a table, we walked right in and ordered at the counter. Drinks were quickly brought to our table. Food followed not long after. Decor was warm and cozy in hues of gold, brown and burnt orange. We ordered beignets, breakfast sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, fish Po'boy and jambalaya. All were good.

The Cobb salad was made with top notch ingredients. The carnivore me loved this salad. The older more health conscious me was disappointed by not enough lettuce. I don't want to complain about that and am even surprising myself that I am... Food came out quick. I showed up on trivia night... wouldn't recommend if you aren't doing it. Was crazy loud. With that said, if I lived here, I'd start my own team and show up.

Excellent food! The Cubano sandwich with pulled pork, ham, Swiss, and pickles on buttery toasted French bread was absolutely delicious. The Turtle Latte was a perfect, rich chocolatey treat. Cozy atmosphere with a nice patio option, highly recommend!

Staff behind the ordering counter were friendly and patient, as we have never been to Chicory before. I had the Cobb salad (no bacon, no tomato) and my daughter had the Cobb as well. The Mac and cheese and other hot dishes sounded and looked great, but we were so hot from being outside all day. The Chicory is definitely a cafe-style and not an actual restaurant. You order at the counter and bring a table sign with you for your food to be brought out. The winner of this meal were the beignets. Hot, fresh, soft, puffy, perfect beignets. I will dream about these little puffs of deliciousness.

Came here as it is a family favorite. Service was friendly. Getting your food was a challenge. We ate in rotations as the food came out. I tried to order the chicken creole. I don't eat pork so that wasn't an option as it is already mixed with the chicken. I settled for the shrimp po boy which was ridiculously salty. Everyone else liked it. I tried again and got the caprese grilled cheese. Yum. My son ate half of it because his food never came out. The oven wasn't working so they refunded our money. We tried to get him a smoothie and the blender was broken. Lol. Third try and he got the Mac and cheese. He had to wait an additional 8 minutes but the dish was hot and yummy. Service was friendly. Ambiance was good. I think it was just an off day. Will definitely be back.

We just got back from Florida and we decided to chill out and get a room. I'm glad we found this place! For $99, it wad great!! Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Hot tub was a bit too hot. Pool temperature was perfect! I loved the fact that you couldn't smell any chlorine in the pool area. It didn't burn my skin or my eyes. We would definitely stay here again.

Today though, I walked in thinking this might be it... my hunt for the best fired pizza in South Bend might finally be over. I saw the giant pizza oven and thought, "yeah, this is about to be serious." So naturally... I stayed for lunch. It was busy, but the self-serve kiosk made ordering easy. I went all in Pepperoni Pizza, Cheesy Garlic Bread, Chicken Noodle Soup, and Shrimp Diavolo. For a packed lunch rush, 15-20 minutes wasn't bad at all. Now... the pizza. I wanted to love it. I really did. But it just didn't show up. It was pretty bland overall, and most of the flavor came from the cupped pepperoni which tasted like something you'd grab off a store shelf. The sauce tried to make a comeback, but it got completely overshadowed. The rest of the food? Honestly solid. The Chicken Noodle Soup hit the spot, and the Shrimp Diavolo was actually really good. So yeah the pizza hunt continues. The oven might look impressive, but it's not ending anyone's search just yet. But the sweets? Still a slam dunk. -The interior was clean and the seating area is large.

The staff was very attentive and answered all our questions about what each thing was. There were so many items to choose from! We chose a variety of donuts and pastries to let the family try a little bit of it all. Loved the pie squares and the light glaze on them, not too sweet. As we were leaving the crowd was getting bigger and you could smell the delicious food which makes me think we need to come back for a panini soon!

We both ordered cheeseburgers and fries, I ordered a double cheeseburger, plain, and my daughter chose a single cheeseburger with everything on it. Now I don't order burgers very often but, today I was extremely hungry and they sounded amazing. These burgers came out with buns that were glistening with. I don't know what......I'm going to guess was some kind of magic from heaven lol. This burger was probably the best burger , if not an easy second best burger I've ever had! The bun was toasted on the grill with a delicious buttery taste, I believe it was a brioche bun. The patties were flavorful, And juicy. It goes without saying the quality products that were used when you enjoy this burger! Bonus- this burger was huge!! I couldn't make it through half! The fries are literally perfect as well! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. So good! Lunch for two with drinks and a good tip was 30 dollars, which was fair considering we brought home another meal for later with the leftovers! I was short on time and money and felt a wee bit embarrassed to pick up my fancy 2-course lunch in a ratty t-shirt and jeans, but I was brave and strong and got through it the shame. I would like to dine-in here one day, looking nice and spiffy, to fully enjoy the vibes and have a nice date night with my honey. Finding a parking spot was tricky and annoying, even on a weekday, so be advised of that. So I can't speak too much on service with this visit nor how the drinks were (alcohol menu looks pretty nice), but I can talk about the food! So with the $19 restaurant week promotion, I could choose from a list of 5 starters and a list of 5 mains. I got the signature Navarre salad without the gorgonzola cheese and the white basalmic dressing on the side as my starter and the Waldorf chicken salad croissant with potato chips as my main. Chicken salad is a favorite of mine but I HATE when it is goopy and mushy. Gotta have that texture! So the to-go bag was quite light when I picked it up so my fat butt was worried I had paid twenty bucks for two bites of food. Nope! There was a decent amount of food inside. Let's start with the Navarre salad. Normally, this retails for $8. The produce was fresh and the candied walnuts were incredible. I do wish there were more green apples on it though. 8/10. Next, I gotta give a 10/10 to the fabulous potato chips. These were something special. Oh jeez, give me a whole bag of these tasty crispy slices of potatoes! Lastly, I gotta give only 7/10 to the chicken salad croissant. This originally sells for $17. Not a bad score at all, but yeah, this chicken salad was a bit too goopy for me. It tasted flavorful though and the locally-made croissant was great! Overall, I give Cafe Navarre 4.5 stars. I'm going to convince my boyfriend to take me here one day for a nice dinner date so we can try so fancier items on the menu! (But not too fancy - I don't want us blowing a paycheck on some $65 steak! I am a practical bougie lady!)
