Cut caused by Teacher Stephanie Nagado's nail

My son started preschool in Aug. 2023 with Teacher Diana, it was great. It all went down hill when Diana left and Stephanie Nagado became the head preschool teacher. She asked for us to hang outside of work, she asked to FaceTime, she actually FaceTimed me while in class...strange! I witnessed her tickle my son while he was playing by himself...even stranger. I reported this to one of the other teachers which made me nervous. Stephanie of course found out and aggressively approached me about it. A week or so later, my son had a cut on his wrist, caused by Stephanie digging her nail. Unfortunately, the supervisor, Salina Avalos, failed to protect my son. I simply asked that Stephanie not touch my son nor that they be alone together, she stated she could not accommodate. Mind you, she had previously admitted to me that she and Stephanie had been friends outside of work for a long time. Stephanie gave different stories, changing it constantly; regardless, Salina decided to protect her rather than the children she is supposed to protect. I obviously pulled him out but he took it hard, missing his friends; but he still mentions to me, "Teacher Stephanie shouldn't have done that. She hurt me."

All three of my kids have attended Fairplex Child Development Center. My kids started in the infant/toddler program. Then, they moved to the preschool, and kindergarten programs. We visited numerous local preschools and Fairplex stood out among all the other schools. Their collaboration with the University of LaVerne means that the teachers stay up to date on the best teaching methods. All of my children's teachers were innovative and creative. In addition, their teachers were great about communicating with parents. They provide daily updates, which often include pictures of the kids. So I always know what my children are learning in class. Not only did my kids come out very prepared for school, they have a genuine joy of learning. The only downside of this school is that there is often a waiting list. So apply early! For example, I applied for the infant program while I was in my first trimester of pregnancy. But don't let the waitlist deter you. You can always call the school periodically, and they will give you an update regarding what number you are on the wait list.

I give FCDC 5 stars because I'm internally grateful to All of my children's teachers. They have shown my girls love, patience and given them skills to help them move on to Kindergarten.

    APPLIED 11/25/2021 and it's now 6/28/2023 !?

I applied and paid for tuition hold $100 back on 11/15/2021 and it's now 6/28/2023 my child was an infant and now she's 2 1/2 and I've been waiting patiently and figured we'd already have her on board there. I've never gotten any calls I've always had to call for an update which I did back in May and they said she was next.. now I call today they say she's 2nd? And they're full this upcoming and following year? How is it possible when I spoke to someone and they told me that they would be calling me to start process for august in June? And because I didn't get a call I had to call and now she's not even 1st anymore? She's 2nd like how long is it going to take? When I don't need it anymore? If your paying regular tuition not any low income I recommend somewhere else because you'll be waiting forever like me! I work full time at home now thankfully but need her in daycare.. was really hoping I'd get her in but now it's like a lost cause! BASICALLY THEY STOLE THE $100 and this is probably where they make so much money from people who believe it will go quick!

There's a set of steps with pillows on each step with a block of about six outlets beside them, and a really comfy, sinky couch (plus an ottoman and two comfy looking armchairs and a big table in the middle) with a set of two outlets on the wall and a star shaped power strip sticking out of the ground with six outlets coming out of it. There are also regular tables and it seems like there are outlets beside them as well. WIFI: The wifi is open (no password necessary), even though they have a password listed where you pick up your food (it's just Sanctuary Coffee). I tried to use one of the locked ones (the only one that made sense), but the wifi password didn't work, so I'm not sure why they have one listed. Regardless, albeit not the fastest wifi I've ever used, it's incredibly doable. I have been working remote here for 1.5 hrs and had almost no issues. MENU: For LA, relatively cheap. I am not a coffee or tea drinker, so I got the peach Italian soda, which was yummy. I believe it was about $4.89, which is not bad at all. I went to And Destroy in the Highland Park-ish area, and I believe an Italian soda with cream (cream is free here) was maybe $7-8. I'm used to paying more for drinks because the specialty (non coffee and tea) drinks are usually pricey, but this was one of the cheapest things on the menu. Also, you can claim a free pastry with your email and first name on their website (it sends you a voucher, just show the email). I got the banana bread, which was fine. I would've gotten zucchini, but it wasn't chocolate chip zucchini. ATMOSPHERE: Not too loud, the music is nice and chill and not very loud. There's cute art on the walls and homey looking lamps. It's the quintessential living room coffee shop, perhaps even rivaling Republik Coffee in Burbank in comfiness, noise level, aesthetic, and price (which is a bummer, because I likely will never be back - we just happened to be in North Pomona today, and I have no idea when we'd ever elect to drive this far again LOL). PARKING: It's in a little strip mall, so there's an actual aboveground lot with plenty of free parking (at least I think it's free, I got dropped off so I didn't pay much attention). Overall, I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking to cowork in a cozy atmosphere for relatively cheap in the North Pomona area. It checks all of my boxes except distance from home. I hope this review helps someone, because I always try to find this information on Yelp about new places to visit and it can be very difficult to find! BATHROOM: I believe there are two single person bathrooms like not stalls just one bathroom. Cute art and aesthetic inside, there are hooks on the walls for your stuff. The air dryer was not very strong and there were no paper towels or seat covers, but other than that there was a nice faucet and cute nice soap like homey soap you'd see in someone's house, and the lock worked fine.

Shadow is about 11 years old (my kids forget she's older), has only one eye, and is very easy to recognize. She isn't just a dog to us--she has been part of our family for years. We searched for her every day after she went missing, put up signs, knocked on doors, checked local shelters, and never gave up looking. When we finally found her listing, we learned she had already been adopted. We completely understand that the shelter cannot release the adopters' personal information, and this is not directed at the family who adopted her. If anything, we believe they likely opened their hearts believing they were giving a homeless dog a loving home. Our only hope is that this message somehow reaches them. If you recently adopted a one-eyed black Yorkie named Shadow from Inland Valley Humane Society, please know that she has a family who has loved her deeply for many years and has been desperately searching for her. She has a little Shih Tzu brother named Chewy who misses her, and our home has felt empty without her. Shadow has been with us through so many memories. We were there when she survived a terrible dog attack that cost her an eye. We cared for her, loved her, and watched her recover. She loves belly rubs, makes the sweetest little snorting noises, scratches at bedroom doors when she wants to cuddle, and has a personality that is impossible to forget. If you are the family who adopted Shadow, we would be incredibly grateful if you would consider contacting Inland Valley Humane Society and letting them know you are willing to speak with us. Even if the outcome isn't what we hope for, having the opportunity to talk would mean the world to our family.
