Beware, Sketchy location!! I had a very concerning experience with the assistant director, Lauren- due to what felt like discriminatory behavior, passive-aggressive communication, and an overall unwelcoming attitude during my visit and enrollment process at the KinderCare San Dimas location. During the tour, the assistant director mentioned that her own child was the only minority at the school and said that she preferred it that way. The comment came across as implying a preference for a more "white-washed" environment, which was extremely concerning and inappropriate in a childcare setting. I found this comment extremely concerning and inappropriate for someone working in a diverse childcare environment. It was a major red flag in a setting that should prioritize inclusion and respect for all families. Additionally, when I asked about the curriculum, she told me that the school does not have a set curriculum and that it "changes every day." As a parent, this response was concerning because it suggested there may not be a clear structure or consistent learning plan for the children. During the tour, she did NOT provide me with the application paperwork to move forward. I had to email her for almost two weeks just to receive the documents so I could apply for my child. Later, after getting in contact with the director, Roxanna Munoz, we scheduled a start date for my child. When I arrived on the first day at 7am, the assistant director had me standing OUTSIDE with her holding the door while discussing enrollment . After 5 minutes in the windy cold air, she said, "Oh, I suppose I'll let you in," with an irritated and dismissive tone. She expressed that I needed to fill out another part of the application- once I fill the documentation out... the director stopped responding to my emails for 2 weeks. It felt like I was left on my own, facing unnecessary obstacles that seemed designed to stop enrollment. It appeared that a portion of the application was withheld from me intentionally to delay or discourage enrollment. Because of this pattern of behavior and lack of communication, the situation raised serious concerns about professionalism and how families may be treated during enrollment. I strongly believe this location should be investigated to ensure all families are treated fairly and respectfully. I reported these concerns to higher management but was told that it was probably "perceived the wrong way". Additionally, stating "The director wasn't receiving your emails despite her responding to other emails two weeks prior". I'm sharing my experience so that other parents can be aware and make informed decisions when considering this location. Transparency and respectful treatment of families should always be a priority in a childcare environment--which, unfortunately, appears to be lacking at this location. Our son has been going to this daycare for about three years now. I have seen him grow and learn so much here! The teachers do a good job of making sure our active boy is completing many different learning activities throughout the day. Both directors, Ms. Roxanne and Ms. Lauren are very accommodating to any of our concerns or needs. Both directors are very informative and are always sending out updates to all the families. I would not recommend this school ESPECIALLY if you have a child with special needs of any kind- I'm not sure if it's just the location or the chain in general. I thought a long time about writing this review because there were a few good things but now that my son is in a new school environment where he is supported and loved I see the difference. My son has special needs, and I was recommended by the regional center to look into Kindercare as they would possibly allow his therapist to come in the classroom and they were supportive of neurodivergent kiddos. This could not be further and I've already filed a formal complaint with the regional center for their suggestion. I was told that my son was a problem I was told teacher wanted to quit because of him. I was every day made to feel like we were a burden even though we were spending $300 a week at that school. I've Seen the way they run their classrooms and their discipline style is very authoritarian I even saw one teacher grab a student by the face to tell them "we don't do that in my classroom" and this was a two year old child. The Director is extremely passive aggressive. She plays as nice, but in reality all she seems to care about is keeping her classroom filled, but not the quality. I've been suggested by special needs advocates that I should sue them for their treatment of me and my son because it created extreme emotional stress however, I think this review is enough and hopefully it will save another parent and child from the heartache that we went through going to that school. My son has less aggressive issues. He's not having outburst in the classroom at his new school like he was. Environment was just really terrible for the kids. At times there were 24 kids and one teacher which is against state regulations they would claim short staffing, but if parents are paying so much, why don't they have more teachers none of it made sense to me in retrospect. They don't care about the kids. All they care about is their income. I suppose that might be expected with a chain. My point is there are way better options especially for this price. The only good thing about this place was his teacher because she really loved him but the way the school was run was just absolutely terrible in my opinion and especially now that we are experiencing a much better environment. All the Staff and Teachers are amazing. They not only know the students they have in their own classroom, but also in the other classrooms. The Director and Teachers are always informative. Beautiful school and safe. There's always fun activities for learning and play for the children. I know this is long but this is about childcare so I wanted to be thorough. My son attended this Kindercare part-time for approximately 1 year until he was almost 2 years old. We chose this daycare mostly because we met and loved their director. She is warm, genuine, and obviously cares about all of the children. The infant teachers are also amazing! I never questioned his care in the infant room. He was fed well & changed frequently. He used to go even on days I didn't have work. He just was learning well & enjoyed it so we sent him. His care in the toddler room was generally good but with some questionable situations. This year my son had an injury that was likely caused while in their care. He was dropped off at school as usual, but when he was picked up he wouldn't use one of his arms. We took him to the doctor and my son was diagnosed with a dislocated elbow, also called a "nursemaid's elbow". His doctor said it usually caused by an adult pulling too hard on a child's arm. The other possibility is if a child is holding an adult's hand and suddenly drops his body down. The injury was not permanent. We received no notices or calls about an incident at school, so we assumed it was an unfortunate and unexplainable accident. Then, less than 1 month later, he went to school, came home and wouldn't use his OTHER arm. He kind of just let it dangle. We went to the ER and the best diagnosis of the arm was another dislocated elbow. This doctor informed us that an adult would know when this occurred because my son would have cried. We did not receive a phone call about any incidences. We did have a little note on his daily report saying my son was just favoring his other arm. None of the staff took responsibility for either incident. Once again, his arm luckily has no permanent injuries. We are not upset if these were accidents. We are upset because these are very suspicious situations. How did somebody not notice a dangling arm? Or did someone notice & was covering for other staff? Why didn't we get a phone call? How did this happen twice? DID SOMEONE FEEL LIKE MY SON DESERVED THIS??? We don't know if they were accidents or intentional. But I feel like somebody is not telling the truth about what happened. I hope there are no other children that went through this. On the plus side (eh, if there is one), their corporate investigated everything. Their findings were inconclusive, which was disappointing but expected. Also, all appropriate agencies were contacted either by us or the school, including the Sheriffs Dept. I am not writing this to be vindictive. I just know that other parents would appreciate this information. My son, obviously, no longer goes to daycare. It saddens me that he can't go anymore but it absolutely crushed his father and me to know he was in pain and injured twice & we couldn't do anything about it. read more

I have ALWAYS had great communication with her teachers and director, Ms. Roxanne.. whether it was about potty training, incidents, to small and big details throughout her days! This place shouldn't have 3.5 stars. My boys have Been here about 3 years now and I'm very particular with my kids. It took me so long to pull the trigger on child care, and this place reassured me my babies would be ok. My youngest son was about 1.5 maybe younger and still breast fed and my oldest started out in the 2s class. First things first my youngest is very wild he's like a wild animal and I had 3 teachers I don't know if I can say their names but they are amazing my baby was so well Taken card of and loved. I stopped second guessing myself and let it be. I trust these teachers with my kids lives. And my second started with my Laura and I loved her my goodness she had my boy potty trained in like 3 weeks and my second in 1 week! I feel very fortunate because all the teachers have had both my boys and they know their temperaments and needs. They don't just teach they love and grow with them. My youngest is now in pre k with miss josie and he loves her and she puts up with his crazy self. And my oldest is with miss Natalie in kindergarten and I can tell you this he is thriving! She teaches them and cares for them religiously. I have a unique bond with every single teacher and I will add they are caregivers as well. Roxanne and miss Lauren are the best. They keep this program running and they are so friendly. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Again I was worried about my youngest he is very head strong and I'm sure he's got adhd like myself and these teachers are so good with him. I don't trust many with my babies, but I have full and total Complete trust here. I'm at ease during the day because I know the boys are learning growing and being loved. This center has changed my view on childcare. I moved to chino and put it this way it's a 30 min drive and I won't change their school. It's worth the drive and time because my sanity and kids are safe and my mind at ease. I love this center. Again I chose this school originally because it's academics was the best I had seen or heard of, but it just got better and better. Shout out to all the teachers now dawn, miss Laura, miss Lauren m, Roxanne, miss megan, miss Wendy, miss krista, miss josie, miss Ashley, and any of you I forgot !!! PROS: -teachers are very nice, welcoming, warm, patient. My son learned alot while being there, and I'm thankful for the handful that did care there! CONS: -teacher turn around is frequent? I really wish there was an option for ten stars because this business and Especially its incredibly amazing, dedicated, talented, patient and caring staff deserve it. I am a first time mom and was at the painful point where it was time to get going with work. I was so scared of leaving my little one with someone else, all these what if's came into my mind. What my little one hates it, hates me, gets hurt, thinks a teacher is her mommy, you name it...etc. I decided on this location because not only was the location this school is in beautiful, but upon my initial meeting found the facilities clean, well organized, and most importantly kid friendly. Happy music was playing, beautiful kid made artwork was everywhere, and most importantly happy children everywhere I looked. The time came for me to take her for her first day, initially she was hesitant, but when it came time to pick her up on that first day she was running around happily (without a scrape on her) and with a big smile on her face. It is coming up on a year that she has been going there and let me say that not one single time have I went to pick her up and a smile hasn't been on her face. In fact sometimes I feel like I am interrupting her fun time. The infant room and the toddler room have the most amazing and caring teachers. They are caring, attentive to all the children and really are there for them. They deserve all the praise in the world for what they do on a daily basis and for the joy that and knowledge that they have given to my daughter and I. These teachers are so dedicated I don't know how they do it. Bottom line. I know it might be scary to leave your precious little one, but this Kindercare will absolutely make it and an easy, happy (and non scary) experience. My 1 year old daughter been coming here since she was 3 months old. She loves her teachers and enjoys going in everyday. They have a lot of hands on activities that help your child development as they grow. My wife and I work full time and is blessed to have found such great daycare near us. My daughter's 2 children have attended Kindercare for a year now. She briefly said, "Kindercare is an excellent academic place that feels like a family." I agree with her, but add my thoughts, As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I teach the greatest gifts to give a developing child are predictability and reliability. These two qualities have been evident in the staff and environment of this Kindercare. My 5 year old grandson has some daily hurdles with his sensory processing and impulsive behaviors. His classroom teacher has been sensitive, accommodating and effective all her interactions. She has also been an excellent communicator and strategist as needed with our family and the staff. My granddaughter, now 17 months, has had attentive and creative care givers. Her uniqueness is applauded, as is seen with the other infants and toddlers in her classroom. The intentional social, cognitive and executive functioning growth opportunities set Kindercare apart from a good infant/toddler day care. Our 5 year old son Michael, has been attending this Kindercare, for almost 2 years. We had Michael enrolled and ready to start Kindergarten in the public school system, but decided literally last minute to keep him at Kindercare for their kindergarten program. Best decision we've made. Every teacher he's had here has had such an amazing impact on him. Everyone is so polite, professional and friendly. As a former preschool teacher I know how hectic or chaotic the atmosphere could get, yet we have never encountered anything of the sort. Michael comes home happy and exhausted from a full day of learning. We see his mind and imagination growing in leaps and bounds, from all the dedicated teachers. My 6 month old daughter attends Kindercare here and we love it. The infant room teachers especially Miss Gema and Miss Karen are amazing. They are extremely patient(not sure how they take care of all these infants each day!) My daughter loves them... in fact I think she likes Miss Karen more than me, she is always giggling and laughing at Miss Karen when I pick her up. They even call me sometimes during the day to give me an update especially when my daughter has had a rough night or morning and I am unsure how the day will go. They do lots of activities with them and keep them busy with developmentally appropriate activities. I have recommended them to others I know having babies! read more

I am not writing this Yelp review to be vindictive for the incidents happened in the past or last week. I want to inform other parents what my family went through in the past year. For obvious reasons my two sons wont be attending longer San-Dimas-Foothill KinderCare. It pains in my heart that my boys can't go to this daycare anymore and unfortunately my three year old continue to ask about his friends Caleb and Isabella. It breaks my heart he's hurting, but the alternative is far more worse. I simply lost my respect for the staff. Let me start from the beginning, so you have a better idea why I pulled out my 13 month old and my 3 year old. My oldest son attended this site since the age of 8 months and the previous supervisor and staff were pretty awesome (the older crew whom are still there are great), it's some of the new staff that came to the site last year. It's not a workplace when the supervisor is too personal with certain staff members and they are more concerned about maintaining their friendship than the safety of the children. I found this out first hand, not once but on two different occasions! You would think why didn't I pull my children out... Right? I believe that people deserve a second change and learn from their mistake. First incident was last year summer, when I walked in to pick up my 2 year and I noticed that I didn't see my son in his room. One teacher was changing a child's diaper and the other one was talking to a parent about their weekend while the whole time her back was turned away from the classroom. Then I noticed the bathroom door was open, just a little bit (usually the top lock would be on and this case it wasn't). I went in there and what did I see? My two year old and his best friend Caleb in there without supervision! Caleb was wet liked he dunked his head in the toilet or something. I was mortified and point this out to the teachers. Notified the supervisor the next morning and expected for her to handle this matter. What happened if one of them or both of them fell in the toilet, got stuck and drown! The teacher wouldn't know till it would be too late. Found out later that the supervisor never wrote this teacher up for the restroom incident (they were friends). Second incident was in November 2015 at that time with my 4 month old infant. When my husband was picking up our sons and got out of his car he noticed through the window a 10 year old boy holding our son in the infant room! Other parents or children shouldn't be touching the infants in there except for the parents, staff members or the people on the pick/drop up list for that child. After he got into the building he started to put on the sock booties over his shoes (which is mandatory when entering the infant room). He noticed that their were two boys around the ages of 10 and 12 playing football (!) while our 4 month old son was laying on the playmate inches away from one of the boys who was jumping around to catch the ball. There was also another infant, thankfully he was sleeping safe in his crib behind the glass wall. The moment my husband saw this he picked up our son from the floor and the only thing the teacher said (whom was changing an infants diaper) that it was the supervisor's kids. When my husband picked up our 2 year old, he was so upset that he rather came home to inform me. My husband hates confrontations. The supervisor is good friends with this teacher too (see the pattern?). I wrote the HR that same Friday evening. What happened if that boy had a cold sore and passed that to my 4 month old infant? My son could have died from that virus, because it travels straight to the infant's brains or when playing football he would have fallen on top of my infant son or accidentally kicked his head? My son would go to sleep, only not to wake up the next morning of bleeding/brain injury. Then CPS would think that we are responsible of the death of my child next to loosing our son! Brought him to the ER, he was fine and thankfully my husband is an ER-doctor. The two staff members did apologize to me and once again I forgave them. They should be lucky that I didn't sued them or them getting fired. It's not about the money, it's about the safety of my children. Third incident the last couple months there were cases of hand, foot & mouth disease, lice (didn't know till a week later) and now scabies. My 3 year old had this rash and the clerk told me that he was the first one. It wasn't from there, insinuated he got this from home and I need to take my 13 month old baby to get checked out before bringing him back. We found out the scabies the day before late in the afternoon and one of the teacher (thank you ms Perez) whom before never liked or comment on my social media sure had the time to snitch to her friend (supervisor). I didn't even had a change to talk to the supervisor myself the next morning. Instead the clerk gave me a hard time like I was covering things up. Really? It's insulting and hurtful read more
