My two procedures were scheduled a month apart, with follow ups to monitor the healing process. The recovery went smoothly, with minimal inconvenience or discomfort. It was 4:57 p.m. I work in retail myself, and I cannot imagine telling a customer I couldn't help them because I was about to get off shift -- especially when they had an appointment at 4:00 and were simply trying to make a purchase. What was most concerning was that the receptionist said she couldn't assist us because her boss doesn't want to pay overtime. That's not just inconvenient -- it sends a clear message that your office prioritizes payroll policies over patient care. My elderly mother now has to come back a second time for something that should have been a natural next step in today's visit. The clinic staff was sweet, they made the place feel comfortable and took care of what I needed on the paperwork side. It seemed like the clinic was a little short staffed and people were covering other positions, but overall everyone did a nice job. The doctor (Dr. Kevie Kawasaki) is an OD and she was so welcoming and kind. Her presence and grace to just make everything better in the clinic without blinking an eye was very obvious. Seeing a doctor in the clinic who isn't afraid to also be a leader and do it all was pretty great. It was clear no job was below her and she just wanted to better the space for everyone. I have called repeatedly in the last 5 days to ask if my glasses are ready as I was told standard 2 weeks. I left two messages-no call back. I am no longer living close to the location and happened to be passing yesterday, so I stopped. Signs on the door that they are closed, call the Newberg office if you need assistance. Called that location, no answer, left a message, no reply. The store front in Wilsonville's hours on the door now say 3:00-6:00 Monday. I then called before 6:00, no answer. All I want is some customer service for the $350 glasses I ordered 2.5 weeks ago. A call back, or someone to answer the phones. Now I just want a refund and never to be associated with them again. There is no reason to not have staff at locations, answer messages, or be open during reasonable hours. To me this is a result of a bigger problem. I will be calling the Better Business Bureau if I don't hear back by the weeks end. **Update, called again, reached McKenzie who assures me that my glasses will be ready Thursday or Friday. When I try to explain my frustration, he says they are short staffed and there's nothing they can do about it. Moda allows vision providers to balance bill once you exceed your yearly vision benefit (typically $250, $400, or $600 depending on your plan). Some providers voluntarily honor in-network pricing even after that cap is reached--this provider does not. Instead, they charge full higher fees once your benefit is maxed out. Examples: * A standard glasses exam was billed at $250. * A contact lens exam was billed at $480--just for the exam. * For a single pair of glasses, I was billed $327 for the frames, $390 for the lenses, plus an additional $255 in uncovered upgrades--a total of $972 for one pair of glasses. A quick google search shows these exact frames have pricing from $115 to $150, this office outrageously overprices their frames. This means you can reach your plan maximum without even covering the cost of the exam, leaving everything else--exam overages, frames, lenses, contacts--billed at out-of-pocket, non-discounted rates. On top of this: * Their billing is incredibly error-prone. Of the five insurance claims submitted for my family, four were incorrect, primarily due to missing or incomplete charge details. * They over collected at the time of service and have not issued timely refunds. I am currently waiting on two separate refunds, one for services rendered four months ago, and another from three months ago--still unresolved. * They upsold glasses upgrades without clearly disclosing that these options are not covered by insurance, leading to more surprise charges. * And when you try to resolve issues, the billing office is condescending, dismissive, and unresponsive. In summary, this office appears to leverage technicalities in insurance policy to maximize patient costs and hence provider profits, while offering little transparency and poor customer service in return. If you rely on Moda Insurance--or just want transparent, respectful service--I recommend looking elsewhere.

They went from test to test without any issues. We started with a plan vision test, to numbing for dilation, pictures and additional test to the ultrasound. Before leaving I was given a full diagnostic of my problem with instructions for care. If you're ever in need of eye care, make sure to keep Retina Northwest in mind.

He got on the phone with the doctor at Retina Northwest and they literally fit me into their busy schedule. While may wait time at intervals was lengthy, every staff member in the Vancouver office was super kind. My doctor was Dr. Tlucek and he felt so down to earth and nice. He did a variety of tests of the eyes/retina allowing me moments to reset when the light in my eyes just could not be tolerated any longer. Once diagnosis was made he gave me my choices and explained procedure - I opted to get procedure done then and there because I figure we only have one set of eyes and it wasn't something that I wanted to wait around and see if things got worse. Procedure only took a minute or two - so fast. I was then scheduled for a follow up and my cataract doctor was getting faxed the results. I had a choice of offices to choose from for the follow up with Dr. Tlucek. I give the worth and atmosphere created by staff a two thumbs up.
