David, for them to take your license away means that your account was in delinquency for quite some time and that they used one of the ultimate tools because no amount of support was coming into them to send out to your son. Mr. Thumbs, if you feel the amount isn't correct then you have the right to go before a judge or a caseworker and ask for a review and adjustment. They have both parents' social security numbers and do get the actual financial statements. They also have a team that go into social medias such as facebook and twitter to check the truth on statements because they have came across cases like the one you are claiming, so I would suggest that you look into something like that which proves your side of the story and try to see if maybe they will lessen the amount of money to your kid(s). Bianca, I would suggest that maybe you not talk about situations that you are not familiar with since not all CP (custodial parents) are mothers. The government does not want to support anyone's kids and it should be the responsibility of BOTH parents. DCSS only enforces what the court order is stating which is the judgment of a judge from family court. Some of the first legal documents that are sent out are stamped with the court symbol and it states how much the NCP (non custodial parent) will be paying AND that if he/she disagrees than he/she has, I believe, 30 days to dispute it. If not then they start to be charged and have a 10% interest rate when payments are not sent in. There are lawyers and organizations that do advocate for fathers who want their rights for their kids as well as organizations to help pay for any financial burdens, legal wise, to help them with their case. I have had an arrears order for over 20 years. Suddenly they want $125 a month instead of the court ordered $50. I asked for a copy of the order and it's an order against the mother from back in 1999. Not an order against me. We'll see how this plays out. They garnished me for the past 25 years and ran up a $125k arrears for me by never applying the child support correct to the accounts. They are crazy.. they admit the system that applied the money to each account is flawed but can't do anything about it. On one case the mother wished to close the case, they lied and said she had to file and go to court to do that, my attorney said that an outright lie. She got tired of them running her in circles she gave up on trying to close the case. They are evil. read more

Had to call to find out what happend to my payments apparently they went paperless and I had to now get a replacement card that I never had to begin with. Spoke to a women named Dennis and she was very rude and unprofessional. She acted as if you were bothering her and dumb. Have to agree with the other reviewers of CSS. Though our legislators had good intentions when they created CSS, it has turned into a nightmare. It is a bunch of unaccomplished people with way too much power to destroy lives. They use their power with little understanding and far too little judgment. They do get people fired and then there is no way they can pay support CSS was created to collect. They tell you they will correct their errors and then do not follow through. CSS people tell you they cannot collect back payments and then years later I found out from a CSS lawyer that yes, they can and do. The accounting at CSS is also awful. You explain the problem to them, they have to get a supervisor to help them and they still cannot get it straight. I can give you one piece of advise. When going to CSS court do not sign off on having a commissioner rule on your case instead of a judge. They do not have real judges. It is such a lousy job, a good judge would not take the position. They have hack commissioners that you have to agree to abide by. Do not sign off on this no matter what they tell you. I am a good parent who has always paid child support. CSS turns the process into a nightmare that asks the liars and bureaucratic manipulators to come on down and start a case. Then they have more cases to justify their existence and create an even larger department causing more havoc. CSS does not try to weed out the liars as that would lower the case count. Ive been dealing with the child support for 40 years they do their best to help collect support but aren't always successful! They mainly use the info u have to provide& if u have no info then the support case stays in limbo or gets closed which is a shame! I'd like the new beautiful office & the convent location near me. If it was not for the fact they are a government agency they would be out of business or sued. Here's the TRUTH about this worthless GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATION. Asks for your income to determine what your child support is going to be. BUT IF your an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR, (self employed) like my Ex then you can lie about your income because DCSS doesn't check into the validity of the INCOME PROVIDED. REALLY they don't check to make sure that the Tax Returns provide are VALID. And make a Child Support Order BASED on my REAL INCOME AND MY EX's FALSE INCOME. It's true my child support has DOUBLED because my Ex has kept my child from me, she is 17 and at that age a court order means nothing. DCSS goes by how much time you are seeing your child not the court ordered time even if the other parent is alienating you from seeing them. So the Ex turns in her alleged income which states she only nets $15000 a year. On the forms turned in by my Ex it says her car write off is $12500. Impossible because her vehicle is a 2000 year model. I could go on and on about the fact that the info provided is false. The real question is WHY IN THE HELL AM I HAVING TO PROVE MY INCOME BUT MY EX DOESN'T. I've talked to the Attorneys at DCSS and they do not give a Damn. No investigation into the Falsifying income and they are suppose to do that. MY CHILD SUPPORT NEVER CHANGED IN 10 YEARS IN THE COURT OF FAMILY LAW BECAUSE MY EX NEVER PROVIDED HER INCOME BUT HERE IN DCSS THEY TAKE ANY DOCUMENT FAKE OR REAL. Nor do they care. They state they need these Documents for determining Child Support but Truth be told It doesn't matter if they are real or fake as long as they have a piece of paper to look at that they can determine amount owed. They move people through like cattle and treat you like complete $hit. Also if you try to better your career STOP. Any income you make will be calculated into your child support. So even though your Ex has nothing to do with your increase in income if they are the custodial parent they get more child support. WTF. How is trying to better yourself in life have anything to do with the other parent. The question is WHY ISN'T THE OTHER PARENT DOING THE SAME. These guys are actually PREVENTING my son from receiving support. They took away all my professional licenses. Made it so I can't be employed then tell me to pay them in order to get my licenses back. I have a job lined up that, but they legally can not employ me without my nursing license and drivers license. CSS refuses to return my license despite finding employment. There logic is circular, not based in reality and is in fact detrimental to there reason for existence. Which is to help provide child support and not prevent child support. Most stupidest place in the world I am a single father of two kids that was paying child support when my kids moms had the kids now that I have custody of the kids they are taking my taxes and still want to charge me after all my debt is paid and when I call to ask for assistance and no one can help me and apparently no supervisors work there either when I finally talked to someone that told me they can get a supervisor they put me on hold for 10 minutes and hang up on me when I call back to ask to speak to a supervisor they tell me that they don't transfer calls to Supervisors seriously they should fire everyone and just leave the automated service system you'll get more help from it then you will from them fucking ridiculous seriously read more
