The tour and discovery day were amazing -- kind staff, great atmosphere, and a beautiful curriculum. Our child felt welcome and had a great time, so we enrolled her and even paid for camera access. Once the real days started, everything changed. From day one, no one greeted her. The teacher looked unhappy, took her without saying a word, and told me to leave. My child cried all day and no one comforted her. The response was: "Teachers have many kids and can't give attention to everyone." The following days were the same. No real curriculum, kids wandering around, teachers on their phones, my child crying with no support. "Quiet time" was supposed to be 12-2, but kids were forced to lie in the dark from 11:30am to 2:30pm. When I questioned it, they said the teacher was "in the restroom" - for 3 hours?! My child started having meltdowns and didn't want to go at all. On the cameras I saw kids crying on the floor, being ignored, fighting with no adult help, and teachers being rude or disengaged. The manager admitted she knows the staff is bad and can't find better ones. Teachers said they don't have time for a curriculum, and the manager said "it's Montessori, there is no real curriculum" -- even though one was proudly shown during the tour. One day we picked her up and they were all watching TV. Another time babies were left crying with no one responding -- I ended up calming one baby because I couldn't ignore the crying. One evening at home, my child started hitting her own hand. When I asked why, she said: "The lady does it." We don't have a babysitter and it's only me and my husband, so I have no idea who she was referring to. We took our child out after a couple of weeks. We originally wanted to go to another place that we heard many good things about and LOVED the facility, but were not able to get in when our daughter was born. We checked out a few other places and Kid Kountry was just down the road for us so we decided to pick this day care as it was under the cost of most of the others and very convenient. Let me tell you that we waaaayyyyyy undersold this place. It is fantastic. Ms Tiffonie and Ms Ruth are in charge of the newborns that come in and are amazing. As a first time parent who considers himself as having always been up on the baby and child raising issues, I consider myself pretty darn good. But what I thought I knew from reading Child Magazine or Parents was very different from actually knowing things like when it is time for your baby to switch from a soft nipple baby bottle to a hard nipple. Or when they should start practicing drinking out of a sippy cup and different tips and techniques for working with your child to sit up on their own and rolling over. Not only are they great with this, but they are extremely proactive. My wife and I say that we are "accidental" good parents. Our daughter has really learned a ton because of them and I wish we could say that it was because we are so amazing. My mother in law is a retired 1-4th grade teacher and is amazed that our daughter does things that her 2nd graders couldn't. Now, they are potty training her and working on the days of the week. Soooo... I guess I want to say that although the facility isn't as new and shiny as some places you see, they make up for it in love and attention to your child. The director Miss Connie is great and I want to give special recognition to Ms Tiffonie, Ms Ruth, Miss Martha and Ms Jessica. They treat my daughter like their own and are truly a part of my family. Lots of code violations, looked them up on the state of Texas website, and you will not be impressed. The food they serve is unhealthy. Its mainly sugary cereal and processed foods like pancakes and such. The care they give children is akin to babysitting at best. Every day I would walk in to pick up our infant, and I would pass a giant group of screaming, out of control children "playing" on the playground outside, and the care givers were sitting down on the bench, not paying attention, glued to their phones. Children would be huddled around them in a group, either starving for attention, or looking for protection from the rougher children pestering them. One day I picked up our child and there was a huge bounce house in the walkway, which is a violation of state regulations in itself, but the one person watching the kids was sitting down on the sidewalk where she couldn't see them, and was looking at her phone. She did this for a good 15 minutes while I was inside, and was still sitting there when I left. Most of the time our infant was left to lay in a bouncy seat, and we were concerned she was developing a flat spot on the back of her head. We asked more than once for her to be left down so she could crawl around, and only after insisting, did they do as we asked. They have a schedule for the infants, but they don't follow it. Only after we asked when the infants were being taken for a walk did they start following it. They were scheduled to be taken out twice a day. We were suspicious they were being taken only once, in the afternoon, so the parents would see it. There's a reason this facility always has room, and in our opinion, they should have their licensing pulled. The caretakers are not the problem here, but the supervisors are. The ladies who care for the infants work hard, and communicate pretty well, but in this type of daycare, the workers are only as good as their supervisors. The only saving grace for this place is that if you are late, or have a financial issue, they will work with you, allow you to pay a few days late.

(we already mentioned this from the get go) how does a school say on their website they help the whole child yet they turned away our son. Not only did that make us feel like complete failures as parents though we did everything we could to help him. They didn't even talk to us about options on how to help him it was lets just pack up his stuff and get rid of him without a second thought. And write another note on everything our son "can't do" How can someone call themselves a private school and say they help children and turn them away the next. No notice or anything. He loves going to school every day, he loves his teachers, and has made many friends. Prior to starting, I was concerned with his speech and some of his social skills but after 4 short months he has grown and developed so much and I believe it is due to the environment and curriculum at Primrose. Nicole is super sweet every morning when I drop off, and my son loves her yoga class! The school itself is very clean and the classrooms very clean, colorful, and organized. The parents and families are also very kind! Lastly, we are very thankful that Primrose remains open during this national crisis, as I am a single mom and an essential worker. If it was not for Primrose being available to care for my son as I work, I'm not sure what we would do. Front end staffs are always greeting you with warm and friendly smiles, and in my surprise this is the first school that the staffs / owner open the door for you in the morning and closing during peak time pick up and drop off. I appreciate how Sharon the owner are very involved with the school, and how she cares for the kids. The money you paid, are in return back to your kids. I have never spend money on bringing in tissues or sipping cups for my child... oh did I mentioned, 3 of My kids are enrolled here! From toddler to private kindergarten, all the teachers are great! Since i have experienced with my infant teacher Ms Joyce, Michelle, and Sarah. My son preschool teacher Ms Phyllis and funny Ms Z are incredibly patient. Not good and no thank you. I have popped in for tours at other schools because as any parent would, you want to research the place you will put your trust in to care for your child. The other schools made a great point by saying to show up unexpectedly so you can see what it's really like. Well I think I see whats going on here.
