This is a really well-organized, clean and delightful kids resale shop. They bought nearly every baby/toddler item I took there today, and I am on the hunt for 5-7T clothes and I found a bunch of great brands, nothing stained or tired, just lots of cute clothes with lots of life left. They are doing a great job or styling, searching and curating, I am eager to go back with my next batch of too-small kids clothes. I use to shop this store frequently for my first before covid, prob once a week. I traded in a lot of my daughter's clothes and found a lots of HA, mini boden, etc. I recently went back as I've had two more children (boys) to try to find some good picks. It's a completely different store with a different vibe. For starters the prices are high, $119 plus tax for a used Woolino sleep sack, you can get one new from the company or amazon for a few more dollars. Another thing is that they no longer sort clothing by gender. This is incredibly annoying when shopping for boys clothing as there is prob 75% girls to boys clothing in consignments stores. I'm guessing this is due to people over buying for girls and girls not making their clothes as messy, this was the case with my children. This comment isn't designed to attack people who want to dress their children GN, it's more an annoyance that it takes significantly longer to sort though the clothes which is tough when you have 2 kids in tow. Perhaps brand back the gendered cloning and have a third GN section. read more

This store is incredible. I only buy second hand clothes for myself and my kids, and I've never been to a resale store that is this organized and thoughtfully curated. I'd guess the average price point is about $15, and I always find what I need. Family photos, rain gear, snow gear, dress up - they have it all! TL;DR: don't come here looking for plus-sized clothes, or even above 1XL. At first, this feels like a great place to find maternity wear and baby/toddler clothes, toys, and other stuff for early parents. I came in looking for clothes in 2X for my third trimester, but they didn't seem to have any. When I asked the person behind the counter if they had any clothes in 2X, and she seemed surprised at the question. She told me "If we have any, they'd be with the XLs" and that their selection is limited because they "take consignments from the community." I wish they did more to be inclusive, because I probably won't shop here. read more

A great neighborhood boutique for used and new children's items. Mostly clothes, many toys, plenty of baby gear to get any new mamma started can be found here. Trade-ins and items offered for consignment must basically be unused and in excellent, "in style" condition. This is the closest baby consignment store to my house and when I was pregnant I was so excited to have it so close. Going there when I was pregnant the employees made it seem like a dream for new moms who would need to later trade in items as baby grew. Since giving birth and accumulating things that I'd like to find a new home for however, I've become very disappointed in this store. I've come in several times now with items to consign and have been turned away each time. I'm not really one to write reviews but I'm really just so disheartened in this place. This is a great consignment shop for kiddos in my neighborhood. I must admit I avoided it for years, thinking it was some overpriced boutique for expectant mothers. But once I actually took the time to venture inside, I was really amazed. This place has tons of clothes, both new and used, as well as a wide selection of shoes, socks, toys, books, and other baby needs. I find that the prices are extremely reasonable for what you get. Also, if you're a foster parent (as I am), you get a discount. You just need to show your foster parent ID card. The staff leaves you alone to do your thing, which is a huge plus for me, since I'm antisocial and just like to browse and leave if I don't find anything that strikes my fancy that day. You have to keep on eye out for this place. It's located on a busy street, and there are only like 5 parking spots. But make sure to check it out if you're cheap and like used goods (me, me, me). read more

Random stop for a last minute birthday present yielded killer sale items for my baby niece and a wonderful staff, very helpful and accommodating. Sure, their prices for consignment pieces might be a bit high, but they have a sale rack that offers plenty of bargains. This place is a hidden jewel! I'd highly recommend that you come here if you're looking for children's clothing, toys, books, and etc. I came here to buy presents for a baby shower. The stuff that they offer here are super affordable, adorable, and clean. In fact, I found so many brand new items that they offer! Everything in there was super organized by children's age too so it is easy to find what you're looking for. After we found what we wanted to buy, they kindly accepted our Chinook Book coupon for $5 off of $25. We ended up saving $5 and bought three super nice items that would have costed more than $75 probably. They even offered to wrap the stuff we bought. She took her time putting the clothing in this beautiful gift bag and put lots of colorful tissue paper to make it look even nicer. It looked like we got our items stuff at an expensive children's boutique store! I spent a fraction of the cost and got really quality items. The only downside is that the store is tucked in the corner so it is hard to find. I really wish it was in a better location so that they could get more business, especially since they are such a great little local shop! read more

I've been consigning and buying from Childish Things since I found out I was pregnant with my first child over 5 years ago. I now will commute from Lake Stevens to Seattle to consign with them because I've build the relationship! We've found some of our favorite things here such as quality Patagonia's, an amazing Charlie Crane Rocker, and some great daily pieces. I always feel good after selling knowing that I am helping reduce to reduce my ecological footprint that the clothing industry has. I've enjoyed the salespeople as well. The cutest, most well organised kids consignment shop. There's a mix of new and used items, which gives you good variety. I just can't get over how expensive some of the clothing is-especially the *well* used clothes from old navy and gap. You can get cheaper, newer clothes at those stores any day of the week. I would pay $4 tops for a lot of their stuff, but they're asking double that. Crazy. The books and toys are at an ok price point. I got some almost new books for $3 which is a good deal. Awesome consignment store in north Seattle that carries the higher end brands - thinks Tea, Boden, Hanna, with just a sprinkling of lower end stuff like Old Navy (only the cute stuff). I never see brands like children's place and very rarely I'll see Gymboree - I appreciate the owners really taking the time to select only the higher end pieces because I hate sorting through racks and racks of Gymboree to find one piece of Boden. The clothes are all usually in excellent condition. If there's a stain, they will usually mark it down by 10-20%. Unfortunately prices are really high. That's the only negative I can think of. Most dresses are between $15-22, which is really high considering I can buy these new at end of season sales for less than $18. They have a good selection of shoes and gear as well. I've found Salt waters, Hunter's, Freshly Picked (but of course, the good stuff goes fast!). Wish I lived closer to check them out more frequently and I wish their prices were a little lower. read more

Great assortment! I rushed in for a few maternity pieces and ended up walking out with quite a few pieces. They had a lot to try on and about 15 of the items I tried on didn't work. I felt bad the lady had to put it away but she was so nice and understanding of the need to try things on. I had stopped into another consignment maternity store in the montlake area earlier in the day and not only was the assortment very blah and old, the woman working was rude and unfriendly. It's definitely the nicest consignment store I've been to, meaning that all their stuff looks basically brand new, even if it's used. However, because of that they definitely have the highest prices I've seen at any consignment store. But I still love coming here and almost always walk away with something I'm excited to have found. This reading is a bit of a predicament for me. When I've come to purchase either maternity clothes for myself, or clothes for my baby, I've had a really great experience. There is a nice selection of good brands, the process are decent and I always come away worth something. I've purchased quite a few pieces from the gap, usually ranging from $7.99-$14.99 for myself, and just recently pulled up some Diesel for my daughter at $6.99. However, when it comes to consigning clothes, I was less than thrilled. Knowing they would be looking for fall and winter items, I brought in a few NWT and only-worn- once items. Only 4 pieces were taken, splitting up outfits for $5 store credit. I took it, but looking back I probably could've sold each for more. read more

I've been going to Childish Things for a while. When faced with the prospect of a little bundle of joy that never stops growing, things got expensive in a hurry. Don't get me wrong, over 60% of the things I buy are new. However, there are occasions when I simply want to buy quality, used goods for a decent price. Thrift stores are also an option but again, when focused on cheaper, quality goods, it's hard to go wrong here. It's a time saver for me because it's less stock for me to go through in a hurry. My most recent visit was to look for a pair of formal shoes for my little guy to wear to a wedding. I found a great pair of shoes but they were the wrong size. *sad face* The used goods are not cheap - they're a good deal. You can find quality used baby goods like clothes, diaper bags, slings, boppy pillows and the like for a fraction of the new price. I typically buy jeans there for my kiddo and am always on the hunt for a great pair of shoes. This is also a great place to buy hats! Hats are quite the rip off in my opinion and whether you are looking for a beanie, bonnet, or baseball cap, you're sure to get a great deal. In addition to used goods, there is a small selection of new baby goods. I don't think I've seen anything new for older kids. I take that back - I have seen unopened, new games before. Looking for maternity wear? Check, check. I wish I wouldn't have known about this place when I needed clothes. I've also sold clothes there. Yes, I know, I can sell them on Craigslist but I'm a lazy ass and honestly, I lack the patience to deal with folks. I bring items here, they look through them and either accept or reject. You can either take the rest of the goods with you or they have a donation bin. Done and done. If you accept store credit, you get a little more compared to cash. I always take credit because I know I'll be buying stuff in the future. Staff has always been efficient and kind to me. When I went in the other day, they were busy but that's okay - I didn't need anything since I knew exactly what I was looking for. read more

Went there today to sell some of the little guy's stuff. They only take "nice" stuff (no Target, Walmart, no stains, tears, etc...), so you have to take a look at their website to see what they want. But it is nice because they will pay cash on-site or give you credit. You don't have to wait to get a consignment check. I did bring a couple nice maternity things, and the woman there did not know the brand, but whatever. As far as the selection, they are still building it up - but all is well-organized, they have a nice selection of new & used items & a small area for kiddos to hang out while you shop. More girl stuff than boy, but that is pretty typical. read more
