The extraction turned out to be much more complex than anticipated, but they handled it with exceptional skill, professionalism, and compassion. Throughout the procedure, they kept me informed, made sure I was as comfortable as possible, and demonstrated a level of expertise that gave me complete confidence in their care. While no one looks forward to a dental extraction, they made what I expected to be a very unpleasant experience far better than I could have imagined. Let's just say I left with not only a beautiful, clean smile, but a renewed vigor that I could actually get the care and service I expected from a local dental office! Not only was every single person I interacted with super friendly, but it felt like they truly had my comfort and concerns in mind at all times. The woman who did my appointment took multiple x-rays and pictures, being extremely thorough so her and the doctor could get a full understanding of where my dental hygiene was at. She explained what she was doing every step of the way and checked in on me to make sure I was comfortable. I was use to a teeth cleaning feeling way too fast and messy and the doctor only showing up to poke a few teeth, tell me it looks good, and then leave. Not here! She spent a sufficient amount of time making sure each tooth was cleaned properly and the doctor was in the room for probably 15-20 minutes going over all my concerns and options. They asked me if I had any specific questions or problems and then made it a point to answer each one and put a plan in place to follow-up where needed. I didn't feel like just a number or just another patient to push through the process! We purchased the dental savings plan so we knew our preventative care was handled and I feel the price ($475) was very affordable for everything it covers. I have a 30 year old crown that has never done this so I feel they are not performing quality work. I was stood up and the entire staff was standing around talking because they had canceled all of their appointments as the "stand in" dentist didn't come in that day. I rescheduled and went back and was told that the premium insurance I have always used there was no longer accepted in fact they stated they were "out of network on all insurance" and that I had to pay cash up front before being seen. This is an indication of something has gone wrong with this office, so I canceled and am billed $100. Glad to pay and will never go back. I do not recommend this business.

Hands down I can say that Dr. Mike and Chris Nelson are the best dentists in the North State! I have seen first hand how a case can truly bother Dr. Mike to the point of working through lunch and staying up at night. He is truly a perfectionist and doesn't quit until the patient is receiving the best care possible. I have never seen a dentist care as much as they do. I have had several of my family and friends switch from their long time family dentists because they too have seen what a great team they have at Nelson Family Dental Group. Dr. Mike and Chris do not only care about the mouth. They truly strive to care for the whole person. They often like to discuss diet and airway in addition to just the teeth. They both do exceptional work when it comes to all types of dentistry: fillings, crowns/bridges, esthetics, oral surgery, dentures and root canals. It is so nice to see such a family oriented dental team every time I come in for an appointment. All of the staff are excellent and work hard to make sure every patient leaves with a smile. Janet and Kristy always answer the phone with a pleasant greeting and are always so helpful with any questions I have. The hygienists, Carie and Jen, even take the time to get to know you during each visit. Each of the assistants are so knowledgeable in what they do and work so well with the doctors. And the folks there have been nothing but friendly and courteous during my appointments. But this last visit was one of the worst dental visits I have ever experienced in my almost 60 years on God's green earth. I went in to get a crown. After the doctor had "numbed" me up, he began working on me and whatever he used did not do the job. The procedure was causing me pain. So I let him know, and he administered more anesthesia. However, that didn't help. I could still feel the work he was doing, and it was causing me a lot of discomfort. I decided just to grind through it and get it over with. Unfortunately, at one point he got me so bad I yelled out in pain. I was stunned at Dr Crummett's reaction. He got angry. I am the one who just got hurt, and he's the one fuming about it. No apology, just a furrowed brow. Soon after my appointment, I began experiencing pain in the tooth he worked on. Just couldn't bring myself to go back. That last visit was brutal. So scheduled a visit with my wife's dentist. I'd suggest looking elsewhere if you are in need of a dentist. It might be time for the dentist to call it a career.
