We first visited this dentist earlier this year and had a wonderful experience with Dr.V. The office was helpful and the doctor was kind, informative and patient. Dr. V is the only dentist on the website and her name is on the door. We thought we had found the perfect dentist for our 2 anxious children.... However, today when we came in for our appointment we were not seen by Dr. V. No one told us that our appointment was with someone else. We were not told we would not see the dentist my son was expecting to see. The new dentist was not warm, not informative, and honestly didn't seem kid friendly. She didn't warn my 6 year old that the fluoride would string and when he asked for water and said his mouth was burning, she wasn't comforting at all...in fact she seemed annoyed..... Her tone was condescending (made him scared and feel guilty that he has a grown up tooth growing in behind the baby tooth) instead of encouraging. Again, he is 6. Shocking day at the dentist and it's sad that you can have such different experiences. read more

Our daughter has been going to children's dental specialty for quite a few years now for routine care. Dr. Veronica's "bedside manner" is amazing and the staff is always friendly and professional. A couple weeks ago, our daughter fell and hit her tooth, breaking it in half. It was 4:30pm and I called children's dental specialty to see if there was any way they could see her that night. She was understandably upset and so afraid she was going to have to go to school the next day without half her tooth! They had us bring her right in and spent 2 hours (after hours) with her, repairing her tooth. The work was so good it's almost impossible to tell anything happened at all! First time visit and have to say that I am blown away by how calm, caring, and accommodating they were for my two year old. Monika was wonderful to assist in my son getting his cleaning. She saw that he was a little stressed out from the get go and did everything she could to help ease him. Dr. Martinez was extremely kind as well. Loved seeing a happy face from the start. She was very knowledgeable and helpful with questions I had. Bringing a toddler to a dental cleaning is never a fun experience, this one was very calming which was a huge relief! This office cannot be matched with the care, professionalism and overall warmth that the office staff and Dr. provide. My son had a few cavities filled during a visit, and the doc and staff were super patient with ensuring he was comfortable and tolerating treatment. I personally drive 30 minutes to come to this office and I wouldn't choose anywhere else to go than Children's dental specialty. The doc is so sweet, so caring, and amazingly patient. Today was our first visit at Children's Dental Specialty Group and it was an easy and positive experience for our girls and us, the parents (most importantly right? ;))Dr Veronica and her staff were wonderful and super sweet. The office is convenient to get to, park, and find. Being new patients, I was worried that things would take long and that my impatient (aka rambunctious) 2-year old and 4 year-old would have meltdowns at some point during the whole process. Thankfully, new patient forms were available online so I could fill them out from home beforehand, and everyone in the office was efficient with getting us in and out without making us feel rushed. Our girls did great overall and thanks to Dr Veronica and her kind, patient and truly genuine demeanor (and fun reward/prize system), our girls weren't terrified or running and screaming for the door. read more

My kids have gone to a lot of dentist and I finally found the right one. It's very nice inside and they have iPads for the kids cool beanie bag seats and of course comfortable seats for the adults. Everyone is very professional and personable. There are a couple of dentist there and all are great with kids and know what they are doing. My mother is a dentist so I'm very picky on where they go she lives in ny so when I moved to Arizona I had to find the perfect place. Also they are open on Saturday which is a plus. read more

Had a very bad 1st impression. Arrived 10 minutes before appointment filled out paperwork. Was not taken back to a room until 40 minutes after arrival. Waited an additional 20 minutes before walking out. The lobby was nice looking at first glance but while I was sitting there for 40 minutes I noticed one of the chair seats in the lobby was covered in blood that was dried. Really gross. while waiting in the appointment room I noticed the floor was again very dirty. Waiting for a full hour for an appointment for 10 month old who has two teeth seemed a bit excessive. I don't believe I will be trying this place again. very disappointed as they have such good reviews on Yelp but this was a terrible first impression. read more

I took my 1 year old daughter to Children's Specialty Dental for her very first dentist appointment and I was very happy with the care and attention we received from Dr. V. The doctor was not rushed like they sometimes are, she was very good with my child and very thorough. The office itself is very inviting with its calming color scheme and friendly staff. This dentistry does great with my 4 year old who hates brushing her teeth! I was worried how they were going to keep her in the chair, let alone let the dentist in her mouth. Dr. Quinn was so nice. The staff really makes you feel at home and comfortable. They know your child may fuss and cry during cleanings so they are very efficient and patient. They also give great advise like not letting your baby sleep with a milk bottle. I should have known that but it was great to hear from a dentist with knowledge of other kids having cavities from this. This will definitely be the place I take baby Johnson for now on. read more

The staff here was ALWAYS respectful, welcoming, and accommodating. On our first visit, we became aware that my daughter (4 going on 5) would need several teeth filled. On the initial visit, they attempted to fill ONE with just general anesthesia. It didn't go well. They suggested oral sedation. We came to our SECOND visit to do oral sedation and they got one side done. She didn't sit well through it, but they suggested we try oral sedation again on the next try. Now, our THIRD first, I let them know that my daughter found an empty applesauce pouch and tried eating some, my daughter said there was nothing in there, but I brought it up just in case. They refused to go forward with the sedation. They even sat there and asked my daughter "did you swallow any? Are you sure? Even a little bit?" We had to go home. This- I understand as a safety procedure, but still an inconvenience. We came back a FOURTH time for oral sedation and it did not go well (AGAIN). Our FIFTH and final time, my daughter was finally put under general anesthesia and they completed all the work very quickly. The reason I am upset was because apparently having her put to sleep and complete all the work in ONE peaceful visit, was an option from the beginning but the doctor told me this exactly "for some reason I got the impression that you did not want to go this route." I don't know how she got that impression if this was never discussed until our fourth visit. Now, ONLY ONE year later, we are at a new dentist and my daughter is getting one of her silver teeth pulled out because it got infected. They put my daughter through unnecessary trauma from her several unsuccessful visits. She now has a lot of anxiety and fear when going to the dentist. read more

I have 3 kids ages 12, 10, 7 who have had anxiety about going to the dentist. I recently brought them to Children's Dental Specialty Group for their cleanings and the kids loved being there from the time we walked in. My 10 year old kept saying I like this dentist so much better. My 7 year old ended up needing 2 teeth filled. He felt so comfortable he just laid in the chair and let Dr B work on him. My 10 year old had to go back to get a tooth pulled. She usually freaks out but also laid and let Dr Vee work on her. Both dentists are wonderful and take time to explain to the kids everything they are about to do. The hygienists are also great with the kids. As a mom it feels good to know they all really care about my kids and do everything that can to make them comfortable. So thankful we found them. read more

Our first visit was on July 18 at the 39th Ave and greenway location for my daughters tooth that our last dentist gave her the worst experience ever.
