Appointment was easy to make over the phone and they send you a text confirmation right away. They also send a reminder text a few days before and the day of rather than call you so I appreciate that - I can be forgetful at times. When I checked in I realized they had a check in offer and I've always wanted to try teeth whitening so I asked them about it before I started my cleaning. I was a bit hesitant because I've never done it before and I was afraid of the sensitivity afterwards. The staff explained the procedure to me in great details and answered all my questions. They were also nice enough to add it to my appointment that same visit so I didn't have to come back - the entire procedure itself from beginning to end took about 45 mins. I decided to take my daughter with me since she had half day off school and they were very welcoming. The most thoughtful staff turned the tv the other way so my daughter could watch something her age while I got my procedure done because you know..kids and their patience lol. This was one of the most damaging dental experiences I have ever had, both cosmetically and…read moreemotionally. I went in for a minor repair to a small chip on my front tooth, something I had successfully maintained for over 15 years. I clearly requested an A1 shade, which had always matched my teeth. Despite this, the dentist chose to use "universal" composite, a material not intended for front teeth. The result was one yellow front tooth next to a white one. Even the dental assistant questioned the choice of material, yet it was still used. Afterward, the filling was filed down in a way that created a visible gap in the center of my smile, which I never had prior to this visit. Instead of acknowledging or correcting the issue, I was told I "needed veneers anyway," which felt dismissive and inappropriate given the circumstances. Due to the financial burden of correcting someone else's mistake, I was unable to have this fixed right away. This significantly impacted my confidence and mental well-being for nearly a year. When I finally saw another dentist, I was informed that an excessive amount of universal composite had been used, causing my entire tooth to appear yellow and requiring extensive drilling to correct. I ultimately had to pay out of pocket to repair damage that should never have occurred. This experience reflects a lack of transparency, poor clinical judgment, and disregard for the cosmetic and emotional impact on patients. I am sharing this so others are aware and because patients should not be left financially responsible for correcting preventable errors.

I went with a different place at first because it was closer to where we were living. Well, that turned out to be a mistake. I ended up having a bad experience there and finally switched to S&L. Dr. Ngo and his team fixed everything the other dentist had messed up. Right away I knew my wife had been right all along. I've been going to S&L for four years now and they really are the best dental office I've ever been to. Dr. Ngo has removed all my old metal fillings and replaced them with modern ones, plus he's done a couple of crowns for me. Everything looks and feels great. My wife has also been extremely happy with all the work he's done for her too. I'm almost 55 and I've seen a bunch of top-rated, highly recommended dentists over the years, both here in the US and a couple in Mexico. Nothing else comes close. One thing I have to mention is how good Dr. Ngo is with people who hate dental visits or get nervous about pain. His work is excellent, but it's the way he takes care of you that makes the biggest difference. For example, the way he does Novocaine shots is unbelievable. You barely feel it at all. Every dentist out there should learn his technique. With all that said, I do think the front office experience could be better. If the customer service up front matched Dr. David's clearly caring vibe, it would be 100% perfect. If you're looking for a truly professional dentist who gives five-star care and service, this is the place. Dr. David Ngo at S&L is the only one I would recommend without any hesitation.

He is knowledgeable and professional and always takes time to check in, even during routine cleanings. I usually don't wait more than 5 minutes for my appointments. There have been times where I needed immediate dental care and they are able to work with you to fit you in as quickly as possible. I have recommended him to many people throughout the last 8 years! At a previous dental office in Miami I had a terrible experience that started with a routine cleaning that turned into a root canal 6 hours later and left me with significant anxiety with all things dental related. I found out a few years later after moving to Arizona that the root canal was not performed correctly and I had to get it re-done. Dr. Ngo is incredible at calming nerves and making you feel safe when in uncomfortable situations, especially with anxiety. He talks through every step in advance and during the procedures, so that there are no surprises. He takes extra time when numbing the mouth so that the pain is tolerable and at times barely noticeable. I really appreciate this and feel like it's rare to find. I highly recommend Dr. Ngo and S&L Dental for all your dental needs.

The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is soothing, and the doctor seemed to be very experienced and was kind. What is prompting me to write this review is the flat-out scam this place is. I was told on two separate occasions by the front staff that they take my insurance (also Delta Dental) no problem and they would reimburse my money after I paid. So naturally, I paid the amounts after my routine teeth cleaning and a supposed cavity fill ($300 each session) and waited for the reimbursement like they told me. A week or two goes by, no reimbursement. I call again, and the front desk confirms they take my insurance and that the money would come. Another two weeks go by and of course, nothing but a twenty dollar reimbursement. I took matters into my own hands, saw a previous Yelp review saying they experienced the same thing, called my insurance, and they told me that no, Dr. Nelson's office does not take my insurance. I advise if you have Delta Dental DO NOT GO HERE! They will lie and tell you you are fully covered but you aren't!!

My husband and I both were patients here, I referred every person possible to come and see them, and I trusted them to the fullest with my oral care, but I cannot allow my 5 Star Review to shine any longer. During some of this history my husband and I would come out to Arizona and I made sure to book our appointments to continue care with this office and refused to see anyone else...they were the best! I respected Dr. Tran for her expertise and passion behind her beautiful office and I appreciated Alyssa for her commitment to making sure I had the cleanest smile in the world...and best convos. This all changed last year. Dr. Tran has been through more front/back office staff than I've ever seen, a couple great, most not good, but I stuck around. I had my last cleaning in Oct 2023, and was scheduled 6 months later with Alyssa. Unfortunately the day before my appointment, we had to lay our beloved 15 year old dog to rest, and the next morning my stomach was a total mess. Considering that the office is 45 minutes away from me, I was worried I might have trouble along the way, and I texted Alyssa that I was sorry there was no way I could make it...first time ever! Mind you, there was no confirmation call the day before (and I booked 6 months ahead), and zero mention of a cancellation fee. My husband had his teeth cleaned and Dr. Tran told him that he had to have all 4 of his wisdom teeth pulled, one that was absolutely necessary as she said she couldn't fill a cavity between the teeth, and referred him out. He went to the specialist, they recommended only the one, and that was done. He had a appointment for the filling already scheduled and also couldn't make the appointment as he got sick, but also didn't have a confirmation call. I called a couple days later and apologized for the mistake. Also, no mention of a cancellation fee. Fast forward, I call them and tell them that being 45 min away, and having a toddler without anyone to watch him makes for scheduling difficult (also Alyssa wasn't there anymore), and that I should probably find someone closer. The girl tells me that I need to pay a balance on the account...for cancellation fees. I told her that was ridiculous, explained the situations, and asked for that to be waived. After some time, they're waived. I go to another office, get a cleaning, and a filling and six numbing shots in, I have a filling that couldn't be replaced as I wasn't numb, and at that point, my BP was elevated quite a bit, and my HR was high. I got scared and left. I texted Alyssa, explained what happened, and called Dr. Tran's office to go back to them. The receptionist books me, and says that Dr. Tran may be able to prescribe something to calm me before. THE DAY BEFORE MY APPT, I get a text (not even a call), after I had been calling for a few days for the script to fill, saying that Dr. Tran doesn't feel comfortable with the appointment, and that I should go back to the office that did it! She doesn't even call me. And this is after I made arrangements for my husband to drive, and stay there for an hour with my toddler. Real nice. I can see that my loyalty really meant something to her. This was after I waited for her to get back from vacation, and I had a temp filling in my mouth for weeks. But she'll pick up the phone for a bachelor that chips his tooth because he was drunk. I called this week to see if my husband could finally come in for his filling, as again, we're loyal, and Kathryn, the intern, tells me that she can't schedule him and needs to talk to Dr. Tran...I ask, "why?" and she tells me it's because he didn't show up for his last appt. But that Dr. Tran would reach out on Thursday. It's Saturday, and I haven't heard from anyone at that office. I share my story with a heavy heart in hopes that someone reads it and decides that they want to be with an office that actually cares about their patients. Dentistry can be expensive, and I would rather put my money somewhere else.

On April 28, 2026 I went to Pristine Dental to get a quote for treatment. I came to Pristine Dental…read moreafter having received treatment at another dental office about one month prior, where multiple injuries occurred. During my appointment with Pristine Dental, I met with Dr. Keith Cooper. I informed Dr. Keith Cooper that I needed the four molars (2, 3, 18, and 19) damaged by the previous dentist repaired and new veneers for teeth 6-11. Now, the one clear statement that Dr. Keith Cooper made regarding my proposed treatment is that tooth 2-3 would be an onlays, tooth 18-19 would be a crown, and that tooth 7 was already a crown. As he never suggested any other treatment for teeth 6-11 after I requested a quote for new veneers, I concluded that the veneers on 6-11 would be replaced with new veneers as I had requested. Leanne, an employee of Pristine Dental, presented me with the Treatment Plan at the end of this appointment. I noticed that Crown was listed as the treatment for all teeth (2, 3, 18, 19, and 6-11). By this point Dr. Keth Cooper had made multiple statements saying: - "I charge the same price for a crown or for a veneer for a reason, because it doesn't matter what I'm doing" - "but my point is, I just quote you a price, and you don't even have to worry." - "let's talk about six veneers. And I'm just going to call them veneers/crowns, and then whatever you need we'll fix. We'll just give you one price. It's not one price for the veneer and one price for the crown. Same price, it doesn't matter." I thought it was odd that the Treatment Plan listed all crowns, since full crowns had only been discussed for 18 and 19, but the many statements I quoted from Dr. Keith Cooper led me to believe that it was just how they structured their fees. I still pointed out the "Crown" charge on the Treatment Plan for all teeth and verified twice with Leanne that it included the veneers and it was verbally confirmed twice by Leanne that it included the veneers. Because this treatment plan that listed all crowns was verified as including the replacement veneers we had discussed, I did not question any future Treatment Plan or Consent that listed Crowns. After the signing appointment, I became concerned that Dr. Keith Cooper may have plans for my teeth that were not communicated to me clearly or at all, and I began repeatedly requesting a detailed written report from the treating Prosthodontist himself, Dr. Keith Cooper. Eventually, I was sent a Clinical Note signed by Dr. Keith Cooper that confirmed that my anterior restorations would be replaced and that onlays, partial crowns, or full crowns were being considered for my molars. On the day of the procedure, June 2, 2026, I arrived to my sedation appointment having already taken a 0.25mg tablet of Triazolam. More was administered throughout the appointment. During a break in the procedure, I realized that they had already crown prepped teeth 6, 7, and 8. I began asking them why they were doing crown prep when I thought we were doing veneers. Despite my obvious confusion and objections, they continued and proceeded to crown prep teeth 9, 10, and 11. Because I was too heavily sedated to remain conscious, I was unable to object further and fell asleep a few minutes later. All ten teeth (2, 3, 18, 19, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11) had been crown prepped for a full crown. On June 29, 2026, Leanne emailed me and claimed that 90% of the work was done and they would only be willing to refund 50%, contingent on a "signed settlement and release, acknowledging the resolution of all financial matters related to your treatment with our office". Pristine Dental chose to include the buildups on 6-11 that they themselves admitted were not performed and agreed to refund in this calculation. They also chose to include the uninformed and unauthorized destruction of teeth 6-11 in their calculation of the work completed. I responded that same day, informing them that I would not be waiving my rights in exchange for a refund. Because Pristine Dental performed an irreversible procedure on me without my informed consent, I did not continue treatment with them. It is now July 15, 2026 and I am still in plastic temporaries covering my ten crown-prepped teeth. I have since suffered extreme pain caused either by the traumatic occlusion from these ill-fitting temporaries or the infection that caused my gums and the right side of my face to swell up.

The old sentiment is that everyone hates going to the dentist, right? Well, I'm here to report that…read moreDr. Mitchell and his team break apart this stigma like a freshly drilled cavity. The office is incredibly modern and the front desk staff is super friendly. The waiting room is spacious and comfortable. A great place to kick back for a few minutes anxiously awaiting copious metal objects being inserted into your mouth. Each time I've walked into an appointment, I've been called back to the office by a hygienist before I even had the chance to sit down in one of their comfy waiting room sofas. All the hygienists are SUPER friendly and do a great job at making you comfortable while they do your cleaning. There are TVs directly above each of the chairs, so you can watch whatever Roku programming that your heart desires as your teeth are worked on. After the hygienists get your teeth clean, Dr. Mitchell pops in to work his magic. In my experience, most dentists will nag you for not flossing for a solid 10 minutes and leave you feeling like your teeth are rotting out of your head if you didn't floss 365 days last year... but not Dr. Mitchell! In all honesty, Dr. Mitchell actually INSPIRED me to start flossing at my appointment last year - not through fear tactics, but by explaining the impact that flossing can have on your teeth over long periods of time. He showed me how to floss correctly, and was candid about how it'll suck for the first few weeks until your gums get acquainted. Turns out that education works a lot better than scolding, because sure enough, when I came back for my annual checkup, I got props from both the hygienist and Dr. Mitchell about how great I was doing. Talk about words of affirmation! Their office also does a lot for their patients from a 'bedside manner' perspective. They offer TONS of incentives for referring new patients (this month they're raffling off a new electric scooter to a lucky winner). After my first visit, they sent me a Harkins Movie Theater gift card just as a 'thank you' for being a patient. Never have I seen anything like that in my life from a customer service standpoint, let alone from a dentist! My wife also goes to Dr. Mitchell right around her birthday every year for her annual checkup/cleaning... and every year they give her a box of Crumbl cookies as a birthday present as she's leaving the office. Somewhat ironic that a dentist gives you sugar filled treats after your teeth cleaning? Yes. Awesome that they go out of their way to do that? Yes! They also offer Invisalign and other services, which I've expressed interest in at previous appointments. They're not remotely pushy about it whatsoever; rather, just educational about whether it would make sense and what the process would look like. While I haven't pulled the trigger yet, when the time comes, I'll definitely be using Dr. Mitchell for my Invisalign. The only negative (if you can call it that) is that when you subscribe to their text messaging reminders, you get bombarded with text messages to confirm and remind you about your appointment. While it's slightly annoying, I realize that I probably need the constant reminders anyway... so I can't even really harp on it. Overall, I can't recommend Dr. Mitchell and his staff highly enough for all your dental needs!

First time in the office, I was impressed by the front area. It's an older looking building but they did a nice job making the front look good. But that is where any updates ended. The bathroom was gross - grime on the sink and toilet. Again, I understand if it's an older building but if you can make the front look nice, you should update the bathroom. The rooms for patients were so small that the hygienist was practically leaning right over the top of me the whole time (as opposed to being comfortably off to the side). It was very awkward and uncomfortable. The hygienist did not do a good job as the current dentist I'm seeing asked if I've received a cleaning in the last two years. I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months. Additionally , Dr Mitchell saw me a maximum of 2 minutes. My kids also had appointments and my 11 year old son had a dark spot on an adult tooth in the back. I could see it clear as day. When I asked about it, they said it wasn't a cavity. Took him to a new dentist 6 months later and it's a cavity and has been this whole time because decay has spread to the next tooth. Unfortunately you can't trust online reviews when there are incentives given. I learned the hard way.
