"I love everything here" was how my child answered me when I asked "what do you think about the dentist?" They then went on to further explain how they liked the motorized chair, the fun sunglasses which were used to block the light from their eyes, they got to pick the bubblegum flavor cleaning solution and the hygienist was funny and made them laugh. I like that the staff here is super friendly, our appointment was on time, I think it may have even been a few minutes early, the office has video games and a movie playing to keep the kids entertained while they sit in the waiting area and on the way out they gave us a gold coin to use in their toy / prize machine after our appointment. I'm so happy we decided to switch to Camelback Pediatric Dentistry, the last place we were at was such a stark difference from this, bad service, appointments were always 45 minutes or more late, the waiting room was dark. I can't see any reason I would ever need to go look for a different dentist for my child after finding the perfect one here! :-) read more

I'm so glad we found this place! I'd been taking my daughter to a different pediatric dentist, which was fine, but not great. We were aware of some cavities & once she started complaining about tooth pain, that's when I was compelled to find a different dentist. The one we were seeing often left me feeling rushed & uneasy after every appointment. I did some googling, found Camelback Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, & decided to give them a try. Even just the initial phone call had me feeling way better! All of the staff I've interacted with are kind, personable, patient with both my daughter & I! The office is decorated with a fun ocean theme, they have TVs in most of the rooms, as well as some books in the exam rooms + the ultimate perk: Lucci the dog! He's usually hanging out behind the counter & it's seriously the highlight of our day when we get to see him! Ok, fast forward a few months & a couple of appointments later, it's time to take care of my daughter's cavities. We decided to do general anesthesia since she's not quite 3 years old yet & there were a few teeth that needed work. We wanted to make sure it could all get taken care of in one appointment. The procedure couldn't have gone better! It was stressful of course, as things like this tend to be for parents. But the office staff, assistants, dentist & anesthesiologist all made it go as smooth as possible! Sitting at home now, letting my daughter rest & recover, I can't help but feel so relieved & happy that we chose this place to take care of her teeth! I have been taking my daughter for the past three years here. I have had a good experience except the last time. My daughter had some staining of her teeth from the pool and the assistant of the hygienist did her cleaning. This must be a new thing because I have never had a assistant to the hygienist there before. I looked at my daughter's teeth after they were cleaned, and I saw a lot stains still remaining so I asked for the assistant to ask for the hygienist to clean her teeth. The assistant spoke with the hygienist in the hallway. There's no doors so I got to see their interaction, the hygienist rolled her eyes and took her time to come and clean my daughter's teeth. First of all that's disrespectful, to roll your eyes and mumble in front of the client and for $210 I think I should be seeing the hygienist and not the assistant to have my daughter's teeth cleaned. I don't even know what training the assistant gets but she for sure could not clean my daughter's teeth properly. As an adult myself, I've never had a hygienist assistant to have my teeth cleaned so I expect the same thing for my child especially since the price for her teeth cleaning is more expensive than adult. The Dentists, hygienists, and staff really have this figured out. It's not often that I review a healthcare provider because it seems so routine, mundane, etc. but these guys do deserve a shout out. They do it right to make it pleasant, actually, hey make it enjoyable for my kids to go to the dentist! Comfortable seats in the waiting room, TVs throughout with kids programming, video games, etc. keep the kiddos entertained while they wait to be seen. Wait? Did I say wait? No, you don't wait. When I have been here over the last five or so years I never wait to be seen. They get us right in and get down to business. They make the kids feel at ease and comfortable. They work quickly and are genuinely interested in you and your child having a pleasant visit not just a service. Doctors are quick and answer all our questions. As long as we will be in the area, this is our child's dentist and likely orthodontist eventually. I wish my dentist was this exceptional! read more

I'm not one to really write a negative review but over the past 2 years that I've taken my girls here I have been more and more disappointed at eat appointment. This last visit was the final straw for me. My oldest had a known cavity and they recommended putting a liquid medication over to avoid doing a filling as my daughter just turned 5. We did that and the following appointment her cavity was so bad she now needs a pulp canal and from what the dentist said potentially pull that tooth. They also found 5 other cavities. This was a little shocking to me. The main reason I'm complaining is how mom shamed I felt during the entire appointment. The dental hygienist snapped at me when I offered to share my oldest daughters water to my younger saying she should have her one. Then the dentist comes in and tells me about the cavities. When I asked how it got so bad so fast she mentioned sugar, not brushing teethe, etc. I explained that we don't eat a lot of sugar in our house and my daughter is actually really good at brushing her teethe twice a day. She just stared at me like I was lying. Then I mentioned how myself and my siblings always had issues with our teeth despite taking good care of them and asked if it could be genetic. Again she just stared at me. Finally the earliest they could get my daughter in to do all the fillings and canal was not until October. Which surprised me since the dentist told me she was concerned of a potential abscess if we didn't get it done soon. With that said the office staff has always been very kind and on top of things. We went to a different dentist office today for a second opinion and it was such a better experience. They agreed that my daughter still needs all the cavities filled and canal on one. However, there was no shaming and they thoroughly explained everything and kindly answered my questions without seeming annoyed. And they actually said they get tons of kids in with these same issues despite doing all the right things to have "healthy" teeth. I took Little C here for his first dentist appointment. Now some may say that you don't need to take a child to their first appointment until they are 3 years old, but I want Little C to enjoy going to the dentist. That and I'm a little OCD about teeth and wanted to make sure everything was a-okay with his baby teeth. The staff is great and Dr. Mirabelli was wonderful with C. I called today to see if they accept AHCCCS she said no, I said okay. Then I asked do they have a way to sign up for credit that will cover the visit and procedures, she did not answer that, but instead she stated that they still would not be able to see my child even if I pay out of pocket because we have AHCCCS. Denying my child of service just because he is on AHCCCS even though I am will to pay out of pocket for the service is discrimination and it is illegal. Very disappointing that this still goes on in our communities. She said that is what the General Manager Maryland stated. I do not support discrimination on any level. Do not come here... read more

They need to retrain the whole receptionist staff. Started out ok but went steadily downhill in regards customer service - especially Melissa. The final straw was talking to the dentist/ortho team and really felt like I was being rushed. They didn't want to answer my questions in regards to the procedure and when it came time to discuss the billing portion, forget it. Kinda bummed cause the place had some decent reviews. I am so happy we found this dentist! I had tried to get my son's teeth cleaned three times prior to coming to Camelback Pediatric Dentistry, and each time he refused to cooperate and was literally afraid of the process. Here, he ran to the hygienist and gave her a hug! The atmosphere is so welcoming and non-threatening for children, both my kids enjoy coming here. I brought my daughter in for two cavities yesterday. These were her first cavities, and she was very, VERY nervous about the appointment. But the way the entire team handled our visit was so impressive. From the moment we walked in they had something to occupy her so she wasn't focused on the fear factor. We weren't even patients and Dr. Rob met us at his office on a Saturday morning to help us sort out what needed to be done. Both docs were extremely reassuring and kind. For our daughter's routine cleaning we saw Dr. Hourani. She was awesome and my daughter loved her. She was very kind and comforting to a child who never really liked the dentist before, and liked it even less after needing to have emergency dental work. It could have been a disaster, but Dr. Hourani knew just how to handle our anxious child. This office gets an A+++. read more

I have been a patient of Camelback Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics since I was old enough for my first appointment. Even with the occasional check-up and teeth cleaning, I recognized that the staff is patient and kind. This was especially evident when I got my braces and attended the dentistry more often. Each visit, the wait time is minimal and I am greeted with generous smiles. Even when there was new staff members and I got a little anxious, they were comforting and knew exactly what they were doing. The atmosphere is calm and friendly due to the eye-catching decor, soft music, and movies played on TVs. I'm proud to say that I have never had a negative review to give. I'm a little sad that I won't be going in as often because I am getting my braces off next week, but that is only due to their efficiency. I have been taking my two children here since they were babies (now 8 and 10). We have seen Dr. Rob Mirabelli and Dr. Stefanie Hourani for regular dental care and Dr. Jen Mirabelli for orthodontics and all three are fabulous. The dental hygienist are equally wonderful. They are all very efficient, always taking us right in, and getting us in and out very quickly. Despite us moving to NE Mesa years ago, I still continue to take my kids here because they actually LOVE going to the dentist and it's just a great overall experience for all of us! read more

Normally I would not take the time to review a dental office, but seriously if you want your children to have the absolute best dentist/ortho look no further. Dr Jen and Dr Rob are both warm, confident, and highly qualified. The entire office staff conducts business in a courteous, professional manner. My oldest daughter has both her dental and orthodontic appointments at Camelback Pedo. My other younger kids do just dental checkups, as they do not need braces yet. Dr. Jen could not be more awesome, she really does care about the needs of each particular child. Dr. Rob is equally wonderful. This was such an awesome experience for my girls and I. Their entire team is very friendly and they are amazing with kiddos. One of my girls was so scared to go, so we watched the videos they had of their office beforehand (posted on their website). The videos really helped to ease their fears. Remarkable service and staff... not only are you greeted by a friendly face when you walk in the door but it continues when you step in the back. I had reservations about getting braces because I am 25 and I thought I was too old, but Dr. Jen made me feel really comfortable and I'm really glad I put my trust in her and her team. Me teeth are making great progress and every time I go in for an adjustment it just keeps getting better.
