Can't tell you how loving and understanding the staff is here. They are constantly on the move with these kids. It is nothing like a typical board and care, they actually do care and care a lot. They not only have activities on campus but they take the kids to the movies, trick or treating, to the lake on the summer. There is always someone showing up there too. The National Guard troops to The Optimus group, even Santa came and saw these kids but not once but when he ex I his way back to the North Pole. The best part is the family counseling we receive here. It gets you to a place where you know how to handle things once your child graduates from the program. If I have a problem I just call and the councillor in charge of the car calls you back if they not readily available. Usually with on minutes of your call. None of the staff assumes that the kid is they're in charge of what going on, I get a phone call saying that they're going to the movies to see Star Wars, it is my rescission of be goes or not. Thank you for helping a little boy and thank you much for including us as a family. read more

We stopped to watch the documentary before exploring, and I'm so glad we did. It not only explained the history of the memorial and why it was created, but also introduced us to the Ziolkowski family and the multiple generations who have dedicated their lives to carrying this dream forward. Their commitment, sacrifice, and passion are inspiring and gave us an entirely new appreciation for everything we were seeing. There is so much to experience beyond the monument itself. The grounds feature several souvenir shops, museums, a spacious restaurant/café, and a convenient grab-and-go snack area, making it easy to spend several hours exploring. One of my favorite parts was watching the Native American cultural performance. Native women and girls performed beautiful traditional dances representing different tribes and ceremonies while explaining the meaning, history, and purpose behind each dance. It added a rich cultural dimension to the visit and made the experience even more meaningful. Walking through the sculptor's original home and studio was fascinating. It truly felt like stepping back in time. Standing in the very rooms where the family once lived and worked gave us a genuine appreciation for the dedication and humble beginnings behind this monumental project. The Native American artwork and exhibits throughout the visitor center were also beautiful and well worth taking your time to enjoy. Watching the mountain being carved while learning about the engineering, the progress made over the decades, and the enormous commitment required to complete such an ambitious project was remarkable. It really makes you appreciate the scale of what they're accomplishing. If I had one small suggestion, it would be that I wish the visitor facilities were located closer to the mountain itself. The main lodge and museum are set back quite a distance, so if you want a close-up view, you'll either need to take the bus tour or use the viewing binoculars. That said, it certainly didn't take away from the experience. This was a destination I had been looking forward to visiting for a long time, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations. If you appreciate history, Native American culture, art, engineering, or simply witnessing an extraordinary vision being carried on through generations, the Crazy Horse Memorial is a place you shouldn't miss.

He clearly states what he intends to do, then does exactly that: shows up when he says he will (texting us in advance that he is on the way), evaluates the issues, shares his recommendation and quote, then does the agreed-upon work with surgical precision. His high level of skill and quality results speak for themselves. He provided efficient work at an exceptional value for the cost. Ben installed our two new toilets and repaired related plumbing, replaced a leaking kitchen disposal, repaired under-sink kitchen plumbing to accommodate a new reverse osmosis hot and cold water on-demand system, and diagnosed a few other fixes along the way. We added a simple in-line descaling unit to help reduce the hard water sediment, and noticed results almost immediately. He knew our faulty kitchen faucet head was covered under warranty and called to get a replacement on its way to us. He installed a new water main easy access shut-off valve so we don't have to reach waaay down behind the water heater for an old school dial knob. So helpful! Ben is super clean, organized, professional and personable. He wears booties when entering the home, lays his tools neatly out on his work mat, has a tub to collect anything he removes, and leaves the place far better than he finds it. He also reached out several times to follow up after the appointments, to see that the new installations were working as expected and that we were happy. Ben at SoDak is the only person we will call for plumbing help. Truly felt like my big brother was taking care of me and our home care needs.

We asked for our money back and were told, "Impossible". We asked for half of it back and were told, "Impossible". We feel this is all a scam. This company pays a lot of money to keep their reputation clean online. I would not recommend using them unless you want to pay a lot more than another company would charge.

Let me begin with the facility itself - hyperbaric chamber, jacuzzis, Russian steam bath, Finnish steam bath, contrast shower, and a gym. The facility is remarkable. The food was incredible. Super healthy, organic and full of flavor. I started my morning with biblical meditation. You can't beat that! Did you know that Black Hills offers Christian Massage along with Christian massage training? Best massages I have ever received. The nutrition education blew my mind. I had suffered with some chronic health issues; hypertension and the beginning stages of Type 2 Diabetes. I also suffered from bloating. Through the nutrition education courses and some exercise, I have been able to maintain my blood sugar levels and my blood pressure is now ideal (according to my naturopathic doctor). I can not wait to take another trip to South Dakota. I am hoping to return this summer. I just can't get enough!

A few weeks ago, I was physically assaulted by a young member, accused of something I didn't do, and came under defamatory personal attack. Despite my history and lengthy spotless usage, the Y staff did nothing. I have been passed to six different people. None have been remotely helpful. And I'm encountering difficulty getting refund on the 6 months I've paid ahead. I'm both heartbroken and disgusted. The current Y is unrecognizable with the facility I thought I knew. Leadership is unprofessional and comes off as having no actual insight into the reasons that people use the facility and choose to remain there. After 56 years, these decisions are unpleasant, but I feel completely devalued and betrayed.

There are a surprising number of weight machines, weights, elliptical, treadmill, spin bikes and other exercise equipment. Facility is well used but not crowded. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Various classes are offered. No problem if you don't have yoga pads, blocks, bands, etc as loaners are available at no extra charge. For travelers, there is a reasonable daily rate. For long term visitors, there is a monthly rate which can be put on-hold at a nominal charge during the months you are away from Custer. There is an off-sight pool located a few blocks away. Overall, this is an excellent facility and great value. Recommend and will return!

When the front desk people told me they moved me to another cabin behind #7, they said someone else needed that cabin because of camping gear and closer trailer access. They cabin they moved me to did not even have enough room for both my bike and truck. When asking for an explanation, Twila, the manager said "I dont like your attitude and if you don't like it, stay somewhere else". Even after reserving a specic cabin with a deposit, they don't care. I traveled all the way from California and Twila knew that finding new accommodations under $1000 a night would be impossible. Never trust the cabin you reserved will be available and be prepared to ask to leave if you dont like it!
