This was our first visit for our 2 kids. Dr Hamley is good and she spent enough of time with out kids and ask questions. But staff is very horrible. Nurses are rude and you have to follow up 100 times for small small things. It is very difficult to reach them... I left many messages but they never call back. We requested some documents to the staff and nurse both gave lot of rude attitude. they provided us incomplete document. After few days we again reached for complete documents and they never sent it. I followup with them multiple time calls + emails still not receive the records. another issue is parking is paid and waiting time is more even you are on time. we reached early since it was our first visit. After checkin no one show up untill 30min. Our this visit took 90min and have to pay for extra parking... I will not visit this place again. Horrible service. Updates: Just spoke with the staff and nurse.. as usual with attitude and they don't even know that I requested some document. crazy people read more

Our patient visits were decent but completely fraudulent billing. Department completely refuses to correctly bill insurance for visits. After repeated attempts to connect insurance and billing office, both the office and insurance agreed that everything was rectified. Two months later and billing office send the 8 month old bill back out like it never happened and refuses to call insurance for the bill that was already paid. Never had such a terrible experience with a doctor's office. Let alone one for children. Disturbing experience. Now we have to get attorneys involved for their harassment and threats to go to collections for a bill that has been paid. read more

This needs to be a 0 star rating. My child was administered a covid shot with no consent instead of the varicella shot. They nonchalantly made it seem that she will be fine, its the thought of me not researching ahead of time to know what I am injecting my daughter with especially since it was just approved a few months ago for children under 5. These shots were for updated immunization records , however she was made an appointment for covid shot that was not done by me! They manually entered in dates after administering shot to her on the GRITS after I complained just to satisfy me to give to the school (what I initially came in for) and that does not sit well with me! we decided to try a pediatricians office that was closer to our home- my older 2 children have gone to another office for 7+ years. I was in this office for 2 hours for waiting for our one month app. with my five year old as well. I showed up to our two month appointment and sat there for 30+ minutes for them to tell me that my appointment wasn't until the next week. 30 minutes with an infant!!! and by the way, it was not the next week. their scheduling was wrong. but they could not even see us that day. I have been trying to get our medical records for over a week to change offices and they are horrible at communication! still have not received our records to make an appointment at new dr- 7 days later. DO NOT CONSIDER THIS OFFICE. HORRIBLE!! read more

Besides the growing wait times, which I think are because of the growing practice, we've been happy. My daughter loves everyone there and they always make her feel special, even through they've probably seen over a hundred kids that day. Maybe they need more physicians to help, but I'll be here waiting in the meantime. read more

We have been coming to this practice for a year and a half and we absolutely love it. First, it is a great facility. State of the art, clean, modern. Yes, you do have to pay for parking (as another reviewer mentioned). However, if you have been to any other doctor's offices in Sandy Springs, this is pretty typical. One nice bonus -- you can self-park and use the elevator or they have valet parking for $5 so that if your child is really sick, you can just hop out of the car and run in. I also really love that they have a room for sick kids to wait and a separate room for healthy kids to wait. I cannot tell you how many times my son caught something following a visit to our previous doctor's office. I really appreciate these kind of extras that show how much thought has gone into this practice. Second, the doctors are wonderful. We see Dr. Meckelburg and have found her to be honest, caring, funny, practical and knowledgeable. She is a mom and so she really understands where you are coming from. For the first time, my son doesn't freak out when he has to go to the doctor. He really likes her. She is just great with kids and parents, too. I know I can ask her anything and she doesn't charge me (as I have been in the past with other practices) if I address multiple issues in one visit. She has encouraged all of my questions. Third, I think the policies at the practice are great. I have never been to a practice before that will guarantee I can get an appointment the same day if my son is suddenly sick (during office hours). This is worth its weight in gold. I know that they do charge for missed appointments (as another reviewer mentioned) but they explain this policy up front when you join the practice and there are signs in the office. I don't have a problem with a doctor charging for missed appointments since their time is valuable and I know how hard these doctors are working to fit me in. Finally, I like the staff. I have found everyone to be very friendly from the front desk person to the eye exam tech to the nurses to the check out desk person. We've never had a problem. All in all, its a great place or I wouldn't take my son there. read more

Both children 13 and 10 have been coming here their whole life. Love the nurses and all doctors. Doctor Siegel is their doctor but we have seen mostly all of them at some point and they care about my kids and always take care of them. Not a fan of $50 less then 24 hour cancellation notice fee but they are running a business. Everyone has to be mindful and respectful of one another time. I appreciate CWC being apart of my family's life. The work that they do has been a blessing to us. read more

I took my daughter here from birth to age 4. I was a first time mom and had lots of questions/ concerns. My daughter was sick a lot and cried frequently. I had a feeling there was something more going on with her but the doctors I saw at children's wellness group said everything was fine and I was just overwhelmed. They also said that this was how all babies are. I later found out she had other medical problems. Like others have said, the wait times are pretty bad. I almost always brought my mom or husband for an extra set of hands and planned for 2.5 hours per appt. About two years ago, we switched pediatricians. The new dr recommended a developmental ped and my daughter was diagnosed with autism. We are finally getting the support we need from our new ped and the developmental ped. Plus, the wait times at the new office are reasonable (5-10 minutes). As much as the doctors at CWC are great people, I think overall they seem rushed and too busy to spend the time some parents need. read more

Nurse was very nice but everything is rushed here. My husband called it the baby mill. It's loud and chaotic. I wanted to like this place and our doctor but I had to take my 8 week old elsewhere. The doctor rushed and I still had some questions. I interrupted her to ask the first two. I didn't feel like interrupting anymore so I patiently waited until she was through. She didn't ask if we had any more questions and just thanked us and left the room. Wait times are crazy too, no wonder everyone is running around in there. We were new to Atlanta but we got timely appointment for my 1 yr old'a check up n shots. The nurse Akilah was very friendly, humorous and kept interacting with my son to make him feel comfortable. Dr. Seagel thoroughly checked my baby's report and she came prepared. She addressed all points (including diet, sleep, walking, baby proofing) even before I could ask her. Left us with no questions in the end. She even asked if we want Tylenol to provide some comfort after shots. That was so thoughtful. They don't give antibiotic to kids here, a good rule. They have board books in the room to keep kids busy. In the waiting lounge they have various interesting toys to keep kids busy. read more

We've been with Dr. Mekelburg for over 10 years and can't be happier. She has always made herself available to us. Once, we were at the office for a sick visit and scheduled to see a different doctor. Dr. Melelburg saw us in the waiting room and insisted on seeing us. It's little things like consideration that make you feel like she's in this with your family for the long haul. We have two children now, but when I was a first time mom I had severe anxiety. I know Dr. Mekelburg picked up on this and was very professional and always made me feel at ease. My oldest hasn't always been the easiest child and the doctor has always been there to help guide. Having her as our pediatrician feels like a partnership. She values parent concerns and works with you. I work with children with behavioral challenges and at times consult with other colleagues and specialist to help best serve a child. That's what it feels like when I'm talking to Dr. Mekelburg. She really takes into consideration the parent's knowledge and also understands it's always different when it's your own child. This is only one of the many examples that she stands out as a fantastic doctor. The only complaint I have is waiting in the waiting room too long. Maybe it's because the doctors spend time with their patients, but I do think the wait time needs to improve. read more

I just want to say that everyone I have come into contact with at this office has been amazing! Dr Segal and her nurse, Akeela, have gone above and beyond to help give my daughter the best care. We had moved an hour away and changed doctors when my daughter had a medical crisis. Akeela called to check up on my daughter while she was in the hospital even though it had been a year since we saw them! This meant the world to us. We have since switched back to CWC. I feel like they genuinely care and try to treat the kids like their own. It's definitely worth the hour drive for us. read more

We moved here from Birmingham and needed a new doctor here in Atlanta. We loved our previous office (doctors and staff). Totally different story here. Staff always rude and always short on the phone. I know busy practices, I used to work in one. You can find the way to be nice instead of blaming on being busy. Request for forms take 2-3 business days??? Are you serious? It's my records, I paid you for it. You get it to me as soon as possible. If I don't receive my form today, I'll take my son else where. If you're looking for a doctor for your child, look else where first. Even the doctors rush through the exam... Bad bad practice technique. read more

Unacceptably incompetent. I am in shock and awe at how the children's wellness center office has consistently not done the job they are required to do. Will NEVER return calls no matter how polite you are and no matter how much you stress the importance. We're talking about basic requests.... case#1 my son who is disabled needed a referral in order to see a specialist...I get the run around from these people for over a month!!! I made weekly calls up until a week before his appointment where I called DAILY and every one gives me a different reply from "we're right on it" to "the doctor can't write referrals" (yes they said that). Regardless of the response they tell me they're going to call back and never do. For this situation, I had to take my son to his old doctor OUT OF STATE so my son could make his appointment. Now on to case and point #2, my son needed a 3231 immunization form so that he could get in to school, yeah, never happened.. I am still waiting on that call they promised so that the form they were supposed to fill out in the first place six months ago actually gets filled out, so instead I'm scrambling to find a real pediatric office to fill out a simple form. And then case #3 my son never received the flu shot I had specifically requested..... I don't even need to explain that one. I have never experienced an office THIS INCOMPETENT. read more

CWC is a wonderful practice. All of the doctors are great, they offer same day sick appointments, have privileges at NS Hospital (they see your baby from day 1, not a random hospital pediatrician), offer a separate well room for newborns, offer flu shots for parents, offer alternatives for weekend/after hour care, and the office is very clean. I love Dr. Mekelburg's non-judgemental approach that it's her job to help you make sure your baby is healthy, not to tell you how you should parent them. As a first time mom, having a pediatrician encourage you to keep an open mind and do what works for your family and not stress about whatever preconceived notions you have about how things should happen was reassuring. She is also very supportive of breast-feeding to the point she doesn't expect your child to nurse on her schedule - if he's hungry when he gets to the office or during the appointment, she encourages you to go ahead and nurse...one less thing to stress about when you have a newborn nursing on demand. My child has seen three of the doctors and they have all been generous with their time answering questions. I have moved since first coming to this practice and now travel further than I'd like because I like this practice so much. My only critique for CWC would be regarding their RNs. I think they could benefit from further training in dealing with patients and their professionalism. A simple example would be telling a parent who calls to give their child Motrin - three stores later my husband learns from the pharmacist that drugstores no longer stock Motrin and she should have told us to pick up Ibuprofen...something a nurse should have known. I'm also not thrilled with my child being summoned to an appointment by a nurse with a visible tattoo and a "hey girl, how you be"? If they could get some more professional and appropriate RN's on staff, this practice would truly be perfect. read more

We go to Dr Segal, but have been very happy with all the doctors we've seen. The nursing staff is great too, but the front office receptionist can sometimes be less than attentive (waiting to ask questions while she has personal conversation with another staff member). It would also be nice to be able to speak with the triage nurse directly without having to wait for her to call back, although the wait is usually not too long and she has always returned my call. The only REAL complaint I have is the wait times. They are horrendous. I always have to make sure my husband can come if both kids have an appt so I dont get left in the exam room for 30 minutes with my 6 mos old and 2 yr old waiting for the doctor to come in. We were once left waiting 45 mins in the outside waiting room then another 25 in the exam room. I wish they would be more considerate of us parents who are stuck trying to keep little hands busy for over an hour while confined to a small area. The worst time was scheduling the first appointment of the day to avoid the wait and then seeing the doctor drive into the parking lot as we were looking out the exam room window while waiting for her to come in! She wasn't even at the office yet! If I knew for sure it was better elsewhere I'd leave, but we love the care the doctors and nurses provide otherwise, so haven't yet come to the point where we're willing to risk it. Very unprofessional nursing staff and management. Not one certified rn nor lpn on the staff. All nurses are medical assistants with a 6 month certification that has clearly not taught them good bed side manner and professionalism. Tattoos are exposed and very u professional slang used by the staff when dealing with patients. Doctors are qualified but overall the office is lacking structure and professionalism. Also, miss one appt and get charged $50.00. Phone nurse quick to return calls but very irritable and aggravated about answering parents concerns. Head Nurse nyema very disrespectful to nursing staff. Very u happy with what I've witnessed at this practice. I won't be returning. Will miss the doctors for sure but there are good, qualified docs elsewhere who can run a practice. read more
