They raise their fees with 0 notice and charge late fees when it's on THEIR end. For example, they didn't notify me that my payment didn't go through until a week after the normal charge date. They waited so that I could get charged a late fee and now they won't let me cancel my membership. Terrible place to call a "family center". Even Planet Fitness is better than here Edit: a lady i reached out to came back to me by email. She said an email was sent to me the same day the payment was declined but that was false. I check my emails periodically throughout the day and nothing was sent, not even in my junk folder. She went on to discuss the policy and waiver that was signed but i think that was a cover up for their problems with communication. Not to mention the people at the front desk don't know anything. Naptime is set in stone with dim lighting and soft music and they work with her crib issues to get her asleep. This is a friendly, all involved daycare that I can feel good about her being in. If you can get in here, please don't hesitate, it's top notch. And being in the federal building, it's secure. I also love that they include what she is developing when she does an activity (motor skills, etc). And you get a detailed report at the end of the day!

The child/teacher ratio is extremely skewed during evening pick up, and it is obvious the few teachers present during that time are overwhelmed with the number of children they are responsible for. The children (of varying age groups) are herded together in either in one room during the winter or inclement weather, or out on the playground during nicer weather. There were several occasions when I picked my child up without the teachers noticing me there, and certainly no acknowledgement whatsoever of my presence. It's important to note that this facility is located within the Salina Town Hall, and criminal court takes place once or twice a week starting around 5pm. While on the playground during pickup, children are exposed to the inmates coming in from the county jail for their court appearances. Needless to say, our child is no longer in attendance.

We love the staff here as they have so much compassion and love for the kids in the center. In the infant room the teachers are very flexible and make sure the infant's day is as close to a day at home as possible. They allow you to bring in food and snacks from home once the infant is old enough for solid foods and have no problem adjusting to any meal substitutions. Our child loves coming to the center and lights up every time she sees her teachers. They incorporate age specific activities in their curriculum to further the child's growth. Education is a big part of the curriculum in all classrooms which is very important to us. The Gingerbread House was voted best daycare center in Syracuse for a reason and I would highly recommend enrolling your child(ren) here.
