It came out lukewarm at best, my ribs were dry and hard to bite, my fajitas were under seasoned, my sausage and chicken pasta tasted fake, and my triple dipper tasted as if it was made with and easy bake oven. It has been a very long time since we had been to Chili's. What has happened to this place? We came for the famous baby back ribs and were so disappointed. First off they were tough as shoe leather, not as we remembered AT ALL,they used to fall right off the bone.These were meaty,and tasted more like beef ribs than pork ribs, very tough. The sides were Mac & cheese & fries. Would have preferred a choice of sides rather than two starches. We were celebrating my birthday and were so disappointed with our meal we didn't even have dessert. The service was fair. Our server didn't seem to know much about the menu or the bar offerings. We asked a couple of questions where he just looked confused, didn't answer very well. Just "I don't know, or I wouldn't know."We had to ask for water, napkins, silverware and even for some more chips! The chips used to be brought to the table first thing, without having to ask and refilled without having to ask as well. No longer. Guess their standards have changed there as well as with their food.The ambience. There used to be two benches outside the front entrance, one on each side. No longer there,it gave the entrance a homey touch along with the flowers that used to be there as well.No one was there to greet us for about three minutes. When the hostess did arrive she was very nice and seated us right away. The restaurant could use a good airing out. When you come in you can smell the grease from the fryers, which is not a good sign. We were seated in the bar in a booth. The floor was a little sticky. This is an older Chili's, been in that location for a long time,we have eaten there before and were always happy and well taken care of. That was not the case this time. Very disappointing all the way around with just a few bright spots. Don't think we'll be going back.For the price of the meal, the food quality should have been better, the napkins should have been cloth vs. paper and the servers should be trained better. Nowadays everything is expensive. At least when those of us that choose to go out for a meal do, we should get better food quality, nice touches that make things special, knowledgeable servers and to be greeted at the door. Location right off i40 freeway. Its been some time since I have been to Chili's but not gunna lie, the viral Nashville cheesesticks brought me in. My husband and I were on the way home to Southern California, and stopped in Amarillo to stay for a night. We were happy to find Chili's near by. We always eat lunch @Chili's before movies and we love $10.99, 3 for Me. We were wondering why this place got just 2.5 stars. Maybe their food is not good? Surprisingly the foods were good! Just like one in Orange County, actually exactly like one in OC. I ordered chips and salsa for appetizers and chips were hot and more than enough to share between us. Chili's Math Ain't Mathing. So I ordered a 3 for me for $14.99. Supposedly for $14.99 you get a drink, an appetizer and an entire. So I ordered a soft drink, a bacon ranch quesadilla and then according to the menu for $3.99 you can upgrade the appetizer to a triple dipper. So everyone agrees so far that $14.99 plus $3.99 equals $18.98 and there is no $5.60 anywhere in that sentence. So my receipt comes out and I have a $14.99 charge for 3 for me a $5.60 appetizer charge and a $3.99 Dip Trio charge. The waitress couldn't explain the $5.60 appetizer so she brought the manager over. The manager said that's just the way it rings up. I said I've never seen $5.60 on any receipt before as I order this all the time. I asked her if she could bring a menu so she could explain what I'm missing. She actually rolled her eyes at me and went and got a menu. I asked her where the $5.60 was coming from on the actual menu and she said she couldn't explain it but to trust her the charge was correct and she could do absolutely nothing about it. I know it's just $5 but the fact she rolled her eyes at me and then couldn't explain where on the menu $5.60 came from is what went all over me. I have included a copy of my receipt from today, my receipt from September 28th that has no $5.60 charge for the same items and a copy of the menu so that maybe someone can show me how I'm wrong. read more

Today I had the worst experience at Chili's off I 40 access road in Amarillo. Been a fan of Chili's for over 25 years starting in Denver. My friend and I stopped in for lunch after church and we both ordered the two for combos. I had the half rack of ribs and jalapeño sausage, my friend, half rack of ribs and quesadilla we ordered the egg roll appetizer which was fantastic and served hot., But when our meals arrived, everything was cold.. Garlic Bread - cold, Mexican Corn on the Cob- cold (gross!!) sausage - cold, and the ribs just luke warm with very little meat on them. Expectation should be better for a tab of over $70.00. In addition, was charged an additional $2.95 for the little table top computer used to pay my tab. Service was just ok, food was unacceptable.. To end my visit, went to the men's room, and the urinals were very dirty, stained yellow from urine and looked like they haven't been cleaned in months. My last visit to this Chili's. read more

After getting home I found that all margaritas were already mixed in individual cups. Ok, we will live, but I promise all were under poured. Haven't eaten here in a while and it will be a very long time before I go back. Waited 40 minutes for some nachos and by the time we got them they were cold and soggy so we sent them back. They said they took them off our bill - but they didn't. And I didn't notice till after we left. My husband ordered a hamburger with fries - they brought his fries out after he'd eaten half his burger but at least they were hot- unlike his burger. And my niece ordered a salad which she got about the time we were finishing our meals. I'm usually pretty patient and understanding but this was over the top. Decent as far as Chilis go. We were sat in the bar area on a very cold day Amarillo (-5 with the windchill) in the draft corridor or the doors, but we got reseated and all waa well. The food was the norm for Chilis, which is fine because that what I come to a Chilis for...consistency. My triple dipper was tasty as always. It was all day happy hour on the Tuesday I stopped in, so it was great to get a tall beer for 3 bucks and change. They also had these really awesome tabletop touchpads called Ziosks where you could peruse menus, reorder drinks, play games, read online newspapers, and even pay your check. I did pay my bill via my Ziosk and it was neat that they had a sliding scale for the tip which adjusted the bill based on the percentage. The only issue I had was it printed me a blank receipt, but I was able to get a copy from the waiter. The service was good and our waiter Mike was nice. The only real gripe I had was it took way too long for our food to come out. It was almost 30mins before we got our meal and for a Chilis that wasn't that busy when we ordered, it was a bewilderment as to what took so long. First I was impressed because the guy had throw away 2 empty water bottles I had brought in from my long road trip. Then we were seated almost immediately. Our waitress came we ordered our entree which was the unlimited chips and queso. Also with drinks. We had been on the road for quite awhile so around 5 pm when we stopped was the perfect time. We had then ordered the Vegan Black Bean fajita. We actually said we were vegan. The black bean fajita came out with this white type substance on top of our black bean tempeh. Also the side came with cheese and sour cream instead of salsa and extra tomatoes or guacamole. My son ordered fried so that was fine. The refills of the water was great too. I waited for about 15 minutes after we were done eating and asked for a box to take our massive leftovers to go on the road. After waiting for 15 minutes and no box. I walked out as I had to get back on the road. I was not impressed I couldn't get a box to go and that for a huge amount of time a server didn't even come by our table again to see if we needed anything else. I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger and it was delicious....their burgers are ALWAYS so juicy & tasty! Also their fries are always hot and fresh and are seasoned correctly. My appetizer was their Tortilla Soup. ~Yummy~ My husband had the Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas and chips & salsa. Everything was delicious. Our daughter had the Crispy Chicken Tenders meal with a salad. Hubby & I shared her corn-on-the-cob; which she doesn't like however; we love it. This location has really gone down hill. Last night our ribs were dried out, my boyfriend's jalapeno sausage was chewy, my daughter's rice wasn't cooked all the way. We asked for extra croutons and dressing for our salads and when we checked the to go bag and went back in to get the extra dressing and croutons we were met with an bad attitude about it. I ordered via Chili's-to-go and got the $10 meal that included a house salad, small fajitas, and small desert. The food was good, and it is a minor value. The portions are all small, but that's okay because you are getting a small salad, 3 small fajitas, and a nicely sized desert (especially for one person). I got the avocado dressing and loved the salad, but I wish there was an option to get a regular fajita order and skip the desert. Also, if managers read this, I went around 1:30 on a lunch and I drove around the building to find the to-go entrance and in the process of that I found a full parking lot except for the back lot that I assume employees are supposed to park in. That lot had 3 cars in it, so if the manager is parking correctly only two other employees have parked in the right spots. I expected a madhouse and a wait when I came in due to the "full" parking lot, but it was about 30-40% full. You could easily up your lunch sales by 20% by enforcing an employee parking policy because I know people after 1PM will choose to drive on to a place that looks less busy. read more

My wife and I stopped here last night on our way to Arizona. I will say our waitress was fantastic. The food on the other hand...we couldn't believe how sub par it was. I haven't been to a Chilis in 6 years or so, but I sure don't remember it being this bad. I ordered the fajitas. The chicken was super spongy and tasted fake. I'm almost 100% certain it was a Tyson type of frozen chicken strips that I've had before from the grocery. The white tortillas she brought had obviously been sitting out because they were stiff and crunchy. I paid extra for rice and beans and literally got a spoonful of rice. My wife ordered the 6oz sirloin. I have never tasted steak this bad. Like the chicken, it was extremely spongy and grainy. It had obviously been frozen, then defrosted, then cooked, then reheated. I know because I've done this with steak, and this was how it tasted. Horrible. The mashed potatoes weren't bad. They were the only thing that didn't taste microwaved. My 1 year old got grilled chicken and broccoli. It was so so. Not as bad as our entrees but not too good either. Luckily we had a gift card so we didn't pay much for this meal. Always a fan of Chilis! During this visit, the restaurant wasn't too busy and the service was really quick. They have an option where two can eat for around 20 bucks which makes for a great value if you are working with a budget. The servers never let my drink go empty and always checked on us making us feel welcome. read more
