Looks like they had a busy weekend and none of the 17 kids they have working has done any cleaning. I ordered take out and the entire take out area was disgusting. You could see into the kitchen and it was OK, but the guest area made me feel dirty. So I went to the restroom to see how they were maintained. They were just as bad as the take out area. Looked as if they haven't been cleaned in hours. At least the soap and towel dispenser were full and automatic so I didn't have to touch anything. Filthy! I said that two years ago and that I would never go back.. But...... I did. My husband and I arrived to find no one at the hostess stand. When she did appear, she was a babbling mess. The two of us were seated at a table for 6. I had to walk over paper and a floor littered with chips and food. There were several tables near ours which were waiting to be cleared. They were still dirty when we left. The best part of the meal were the El Nino Margaritas we ordered. The Ceasar salads were drowning in dressing!!!!! The only napkins given to us were paper cocktail napkins. Our server was an adorable young woman who was doing her best, but this place is a disaster. She asked if we would like to talk to the manager, but I said no. If he cared, the place wouldn't look like that in the first place. What a shame. Certainly not the Chili's of old. Restaurant was 25% occupied and 3 wait staff. We get seated and after 5 minutes flag down the hostess who gets us drinks. Another 5 and the waiter takes our order. Shows up with chips and queso we DID not order. Food shows up wife ask for ketchup and Mayo it never shows. Waiter never came back to check drinks but once after my wife went to the bar and got refills. I tell waiter wife is getting refills and he says I'm really busy. Wife ask for manager and he comes out we explain what has happened and gives us 2 $5 gift cards. We go to check out the gc have nothing on them. If you eat here good luck. read more

Its no wonder this location has such a low rating. Staff is incompetent and lazy. Everyone stands around and ignores you. The management clearly isn't proactive and lacks general care. There was an employee eating in the kitchen area, around customers food. The wait for pick-up is usually 20+ minutes past the time you're given. Its not very clean and the food is mediocre, if that. If you want your order to be right don't order online or togo. Always wrong, and you normally get your food 15-20 minutes after they tell you to be there. Quality of the food not as good either. Just shows management isn't doing their job. read more

We set up this location as a meeting spot. We had a great experience! The food was delicious, compared to other locations we've been to, and the service was great! The restaurant was clean. Staff mess up orders and do not take responsibility for their mistakes. Give out wrong to go orders to people. Food was cold because two trips had to be made to correct their mistakes. No compensation for the wasted time and gas. Did give the correct cold order for free and reversed the charge for the incorrect order but this does not compensate for the lost time and cold food. read more

Specifically ordered a classic 6 oz steak dry... I guess next time I have to tell them no sauce. The steak came out with some type of sauce and avocado on top. Next I ordered the house salad only with tomato, cucumber, and red onion...the house salad came out with a spring mix with blue cheese. My first visit to this location was as normal as can be expected for a chain restaurant. My second was considerably lacking in service. I arrived at about 3:30 and due to the lack of customers, one would expect good service. I was seated right away and a lady brought my drink right away. She told me my waitress was not clocked in yet and there would be a wait before I could order. Finally, she came back about ten minutes later and said she would take my order if I knew what I wanted. My meal arrived at an acceptable time but my steak was overdone. After finishing eating, I had to wait over ten minutes before I could get a waitresses attention to get the check. One waitress walked by with her earbuds in and looking up at the ceiling avoiding eye contact. Finally, the person that was my waitress came over to get my credit card to run. I only left a ten percent tip due to the lack of service. I could chalk this up to arriving at an inopportune time. But when the charge was posted to AMEX, they had added an additional five dollars to my bill! Poor service and theft! Avoid this location! read more

I just had to post how incredible thoughtful the staff, in particular, one of the managers, Ty, at this location was. I forgot my purse and live over an hour away. Before I even realized my purse was missing, he had called me! He was so thoughtful to meet me at a convenient, safe location! What a kind man!! He really went out of his way to do a generous act. The experience at the location was great too! Easily accommodated a large table with different checks. The whole table was pleased with their food also. It is also one of the only restaurants open late in Brenham. I think Chili's is very lucky to have such a thoughtful, professional manager that goes beyond expectations working for them! This location is personally our favorite, and we never have problems with service when we come here. Service is always attentive, bartenders know how to make their drinks, food is excellent (and we're very picky with our Chilis). Today was second to worst service we ever had in any restaurant. Food was just as good as always, but everything else made us feel that we've spent too much. Menus in the lounge area had old food on them. We were the first ones to sit down, but we were the last ones to get served. Once we ordered our margaritas we were never even offered waters, and we had really missed them when we got our drinks which were REALLY strong. The pomegranate margarita, which usually is light, was strong compared to presidente. It took quite a bit of time for our waitress to come back to check on the drinks, and we got our replacement as we were getting our food. It seemed that our waitress worried about everyone else but us, which is interesting because we had ordered drinks, and expected to be checked on more often. When we got our check we were disappointed to pay because the service was not worth the $40. Just to clarify, when it comes to service we expect the best because in our field, my husband and I would do our best, we just want to be treated the way we expect others want to be treated. I went to the Brenham location yesterday at 3:30. There weren't many people there. Our service and food were horrible. My hubby got his food before me. I finally found a wait staff to ask about my order. My order wasn't placed. When they brought my food, long after my hubby was done, my quesadillas were dried out. It looked like it had been sitting under a light for way too long. My hubby ordered the same thing and his food was dried out also. The waiter wouldn't come back! Not prepared for a crowd on Saturday night. One bartender for a full bar. When we tried to order drinks the bartender told us if we don't have a seat he can't make us drinks. Very rude and unprofessional, a good bartender should make every accommodation to the customer to serve drinks. Horrible, liquid, watery "cheese" with pretzels. Tried to order it twice, then just asked to take it off the bill, apparently they can't find someone in kitchen to melt cheese without adding water to it. Chili was awful, and totally room temperature, cold. Waiter never brought spoon for awful chili, after 2 requests....only know it was bad after having to use my daughter's spoon to try it. We asked how long it would be and were told 15-20 min. 45 min later we were still waiting. Stopped in with the family on the way back to Austin from the Texas Renaissance Festival. First impression - looked like the floor hadn't been swept all day. The service was so-so. The food was terrible; bland steaks, lukewarm soups; tasted like everything had been pre-cooked, frozen and then microwaved. Even the menu choices have become boring and stale. We go to this Chili's every week. Always happy we did. I have to eat vegan to clean out my arteries, so I get the black bean and veggie fajitas. Hold the sour cream, guacamole, etc. delicious.
