A family of five was roughly well fed for under $70, so not terrible when it comes to price. Since my parents live in Brownsville and my sister and I live in San Antonio, and we didn't have much time to spend a weekend together, we opted to meet halfway and spend an afternoon in Corpus. Originally we were supposed to meet up at Bill Miller, but my sister ended up selecting Chili's as our meet up spot. Service was hit and miss. The waitress was attentive but a little overbearing, and she brought my sister a chicken salad instead a shrimp salad. My sister let it slide because she was incredibly hungry after the drive. I had a bowl of chicken tortilla soup. It was thick, more like a stew, but tasty none-the-less. A bit salty, though. Never again. As usual with carryout my order was wrong. Missing a side salad so had to wait 15 plus mins for one to be made. My mistake was not opening all the containers.... Got home and gee missing the shrimp I'd paid extra for. Both of course checked off in highlighter on the list but not in my bag..... Then to add insult to injury got a glimpse of something dark in my salad. Low and behold a black piece of bad lettuce. $50 for a less than ideal meal.... Chili's is one of my favorite places but they have really let themselves go. It's always dirty takes forever to get seated even when not to many people are there. We get seated and the tables and chairs are sticky, our server look like someone they found off the streets and didn't clean up. Smelt like cigarettes and pee. We always start off with chips and queso - it never disappoints. Loved this drink and loved my sandwich. The waitress suggested the drink after I asked what specials they had. It was only $5 so I got 2 and I left buzzing LOL. She also suggested the chicken sandwich with no Buffalo sauce because I don't like spicy but I wanted a chicken sandwich. My family and I were on the waiting list signed up ahead of time on yelp, came in to a lady working the front who told us to have a seat and wait after we told her our name and signed up on yelp. So we waited and 15 mins went by then we asked about how much longer and they said about 5/10 mins more when there was clearly clean tables and open tables/booths where they were sitting people. On Friday I ordered 2 orders of the southwest eggrolls and chips and salsa. I was excited to get those southwest egg rolls too. However when opening the container and I started to take a bite of mentioned egg roll. Out of the corner of my I something moving inside of the container. We got pickup order today from chili's in Corpus Christi TX. We both had "grilled chicken" on the Caribbean salad (nasty don't order) and an order of "grilled chicken". Chicken was no more grilled than I am. It was microwaved. Both on the salad and the dinner. Oranges were hot and limp. The only piece of pineapple in the salad I thought was shaved Parmesan! The only one who would eat the food was the dog. Don't bother. Last time we ate in the restaurant the waiter brought us drinks with no ice. He told us the ice machine was broken. We told him that should have been mentioned and sent them back. People before us and after us had ice. We called him out on it and he brought drinks with ice. I ordered steak medium. If I would give zero stars I would. RUN, DONT WALK FROM THIS PLACE. We arrived and were seated first in the section early before the rush at 5:15pm. Ordered drinks and the $2 for $22. Texas fries appetizer were hard (probably from lunch). Now comes the kicker...after waiting for 30 minutes my famous baby back ribs were ice cold. Returned them upset and stunned. When the manager brought them back he was rude and repeatedly asked if they were ok without waiting for me to try them. It took all I had not to say something or knock him out. They used to be decent but not anymore. I typically use curbside and live about 10 minutes away. The food is always cold, undercooked and takes way too long to prepare. Half the time they don't include sauces. Tonight, I waited 45 minutes for my order, it was all cold, the broccoli was incredibly mushy like it had been boiled for hours. They also brought out the wrong drink and had to swap it out. I don't mind waiting 45 minutes for hot food but not for cold food. I'm done with this restaurant. It's not worth the money. read more

We were a little leery of stopping here because of some reviews mentioning poor service, but we got seated right away, served quickly and food came relatively quickly. Decent bar area to watch sports if that's your thing. Not the fastest service or the most amazing food but it's consistent and the menu keeps changing and adding things like the lighter fare menu (I recommend the steak) and the new bowls - although I haven't tried them - look yummy. I have eaten here before since it is one of the few out here in Calallen. So when you are the "best" thing out there you can afford to be below average. This Chili's is excellent at being below average. Once you get seated the waiting begins anew. "Your server will be right with you." Really? Once you order the food by the time you get it, it does taste good. But it is heavy and overpriced. So if you're in the mood for waiting you may try this Chili's. I had a fairly bad experience, but after calling and talking to one of the managers, I feel a lot better about the location and would even give them a second chance. Our visit was during the Corpus Christi water boil order, so part of my expectations have since been tempered, understanding some of the challenges that all of the area restaurants are facing. I'd like to start with one big positive. Out of all of the meals in Corpus during the water boil, this was the ONLY restaurant that provided free bottled water. Every other restaurant charged for them (anywhere from $1 to almost $3!). The manager told me that they were doing that to minimize the impact on customers. Kudos to them. And phooey on the others. Our waitress was fairly inattentive, and we had numerous problems. My son and I did the 2 for $20 and we got Chips & Queso for the appetizer and we both got the char crusted steak for the entree. Because of the water boil order, we couldn't get asparagus, so we got a different side. The first problem was the waitress brought out chips & salsa instead, then didn't come back for a while. When she finally did (and all our chips were gone), I asked about the queso and she said they were making more. (Of course I saw other servers bring queso to other tables, so that was a lie.) She brought queso, and more chips. Almost immediately after the queso came, our meal came. My steak was fine, but my son's was overcooked (well done when ordered medium). By the time our waitress came back, I was almost done with my meal. She said they would get a replacement cooked quickly for him. And she disappeared again. For a very long time. When she finally came back (without the steak), I asked about the side of fries that normally comes with the char grilled steak. She said that the entree didn't come with a second side if ordered on the 2 for $20 menu. The menu says NOTHING about that, but that's an issue I need to take up with corporate, and I'm not going to ding their review for a corporate issue. I talked a bit with the manager about this (days later), and he confirmed that it was chain-wide. He also pointed out that since we didn't get asparagus (a premium side), we were essentially getting the regular steak which DOES come with a second side, so we should have been able to get fries (or any other side). After my son finished, I pulled up the check on the Ziosk, and instead of $20, it was about $35. She had charged us $13 for the replacement steak. I wasn't going to wait for her to happen to come back before I could get it fixed, so I split the check and paid for what we had ordered and we left. I'm part of the Chili's Rewards program, and after a couple days my points never posted (although I had logged in, and the charge did go through on my credit card). I hadn't printed or emailed a receipt, so I couldn't report it as missing. So that's when I called and talked to the manager. He was able to find the receipt and give me the details I needed to report it as missing. He also listened to the problems I had, was very apologetic, and seemed genuinely interested in making sure the problems were fixed. Although he didn't offer any sort of compensation, I was happy with his response. I was torn between leaving a 3-star or a 4-star review, but with the generosity of free water bottles, the helpful manager, and the extenuating circumstances of the water boil order, I'm going with the higher rating. If we do try them again, I'll leave a new review and update the rating based on that visit. read more

My order was correct. However, I ordered the mango chicken and my chicken was luke warm and all the seasoning was on one side. It was not ever grilled or chard. Looked like it was cooked in a microwave. I did curbside and there were no utensils or napkins on my bag. I was told that I did not request any. Smh. Super disappointed. Also.
