I ordered a ribeye, sweet potato without any thing on it and asparagus. Not really carnivore but pretty Paleo I think. My food was out in five minutes! Pretty fast. They did, however, put butter on my sweet potato but I let it go. My steak was super tender, seasoned very well with a bit of a spicy kick and cooked medium as ordered. Asparagus was also seasoned well and I enjoyed them. The sweet potato was also good, not stringy as they sometimes are. My waitress became friendlier as the evening went on. My steak became spicier as I ate it. I think I would ask them to just use salt and butter next time. Overall a good dinner. I would eat here again. read more

Ordered food to go and look at this, we ordered our steaks no pink and it was still very red ( forgot to take a picture ) our baked potato was supposed to have everything on it and the little containers that included that the bacon was soggy and smelt old, there was barely any cheese to fill my baked potato. The vibe and ambiance of the restaurant is pretty typical for a steakhouse restaurant of this caliber. It is dimly lit and the booth was quite comfortable. The temperature in the restaurant was just right. I forgot to take a picture of my chicken sandwich that I ordered because I was hungry and ate it right away, but I can assure you that it was delicious. The chicken was hot, crispy, and juicy. The fries were ok, not bad. The blooming onion was tasty and spiced with a hint of cayenne pepper. My only gripe is that there was a bit of a wait time to initially get served by the wait staff at my table. The service after being attended to, however, was very good. The ribeye was so heavily over salted that I could no longer taste the steak. There was so much salt that I developed sores on my tongue shortly after. Absolutely Embarrassing Experience. Outback should be ashamed of the service I received during my recent visit. Our server, Eric, delivered what can only be described as a masterclass in incompetence and apathy. It took over an hour just to begin ordering -- and that was just the beginning of the disaster. When my girlfriend finally received her drink, Eric immediately spilled it on both of us, muttered a half-hearted "sorry," and ran off for napkins, leaving us to clean it up ourselves. Incredibly, he handed her the same spilled drink, as if a half-empty glass was acceptable. We sent it back, only for him to shake it up and return the exact same drink like that would somehow fix it. Spoiler: it didn't. When she tried to switch her side from rice to broccoli (literally within seconds of ordering), Eric responded with "Well I already put the order in, but okay," in a tone that was completely unnecessary and rude. Let me be clear: I've never asked for a manager in a restaurant in my entire life -- until now. That's how bad this was. Enter Amber, the manager, who deserves credit for stepping in and doing her best to salvage the evening. She mentioned that managers can't technically take orders, yet she jumped in anyway because it was the only way anything was going to get done. Unfortunately, Eric had entered almost all of our orders incorrectly, so Amber had to personally go back and re-confirm everything with all 11 people at our table on top of managing the restaurant. Yes, larger parties can be quite the handful, but there is little difference between that and two separate 5 to 6 person tables (yes, I have experience). It's honestly astounding that someone so incapable of basic customer service is employed in a restaurant -- let alone handling a large party. Eric is extremely lucky gratuity was automatically included due to our group size, because I would've left a $0 tip without hesitation. The only reason this review isn't one star is because the kitchen actually did a great job. The food was well-prepared, and Amber was professional and composed throughout the chaos. But no amount of decent steak can make up for service this disrespectful, disorganized, and downright unprofessional. Outback: do better. Start by retraining or replacing Eric. read more

3 strikes this restaurant is off of my go to places. I have been there twice in the past week and a half. Third time this year. Each and every time anything that is pride is either burnt or the grease is old. The first time we went earlier in the year,the blooming onion, their signature dish, was overcooked and/or the oil needed to be changed. Fast forward to the second visit about a week and a half ago. We ordered the mushrooms, again the oil was old. I ordered the coconut shrimp. Same thing, the oil was old and they were overcooked. Today, we had a coupon for a free blooming onion. It was just as bad as it was earlier in the year when we had it. Plus, too much salt in the batter as well as too much salt on the fries and too much salt on the steak, my husband had. Back in the day, this place, you would have to stand in line to get a table. Nowadays, you can go in at any time of the day and have no problem getting seated. I can absolutely see why. I will say the hostess and the servers are fabulous. I have absolutely no complaints about any of the servers. The hostess is always friendly and accommodating. We have almost always had a great experience at Outback. Today was the exception. We joined our daughter and family just as they got their drinks. I asked if we could order our drinks but the server wasn't our waitress. When our waitress came by, I asked for drinks and she said she would come back after she took the order from another table. When she finally came back for out drink order, we told her we were also ready to give her our food order. She said she would come back for that. We waited again with 3 young children. Finally she returned to take our orders, including the drink order. Somehow we weren't surprised when the salads arrived but still no drinks. These came 5 minutes later. Our food arrived a bit and we were pleased with our first try of the Blooming Burger. It was delicious. However, it would have been more enjoyable if we had had drink refills. We waited and waited but no sign of our waitress. Dessert came with the meal so we waited some more. By now our 2 year old was tired and getting loud. Finally my daughter and family left. We waited and waited. Other tables were looking around for the missing waitress. We thought maybe she just left. Eventually she came back and we said we wanted the cheesecakes To Go. She made no comment that 5 people had left the table already. She brought us a bag with the cheesecakes and said "here you go, Papa." Thought my husband was going to lose it. I didn't know the quality of Outback had DECLINED so much since my last visit 5 years ago. When do you make the salads? LAST WEEK? Dried out cucumber, brown lettuce, shrivelled tomatoes. Not great. I ordered Coke Zero, pretty sure this isn't that. It tastes weird. But not like Diet Coke either. I'm immediately greeted with ARE YOU A MEMBER OF OUR PROGRAM blah blah blah - I'm a little taken aback. Also the server used Mama and Honey and I just didn't feel comfortable. I placed an order in advance for a business meeting. Uber notified me the restaurant canceled the order one hour before my meeting. I called the restaurant and the first person I spoke to said she was sorry, it was a glitch, and I could place my order again if I liked. I then asked to speak with a Manager and spoke with Hillary. Hillary said she received notification from Uber that my order was canceled this morning. I went back to Uber and they in fact confirmed the order was canceled as the merchant did not accept it. I am not sure why they didn't accept the order but I do know it created a hardship on me. This was a business luncheon recognizing 9 teammates. I now have to scramble because Outback chose not to produce the order. I will no longer do business with them and I would encourage people to think twice before placing an order unless you are picking up. read more

He online call ahead was very convenient but restaurant was dead at our 9pm checkin time so we could have just walked in. The young hostesses were in site of their host stand but not at the host stand. We were sat quickly though on the far side near street. This far side is rather bland and void of atmosphere. We ordered alcoholic $6 drinks and apps immediately. The cheese and fajita steak cheese dip w chips was very tasty. (May be a bit oily for some.) The house salad was fresh and crispy w mustard vinaigrette on the side. The Alice Springs Chicken was delicious as always. The hubs got the new chicken fried breast breaded in blooming onion batter. It was all breading and very very thin breast. Skip this entree. The Mac n chz was interesting and I ate it all. It was good to me because it was lightly cheese coated. Skip the loaded or regular mash potatoes. They were flat and not fluffy and color was off. Taste was off. Brown bread was warm and soft. I had a double screwdriver and it tasted fine, but not strong. No dessert. Service was excellent by Brandon. Very gentile and perfect service. No manager visited us. Men's room was very clean and fresh smelling. Bill was $97 before gift card so it does add up especially w alcohol. I best experience and best advice is to always sit in the bar area at all costs. Despite plenty of open tables, including the table they finally sat us out, and plenty of waiters walking around with nothing to do but talk to eachother. Waited another 20 minutes to give our drink order... Even longer to get the drinks and then order food. It was over an hour before we actually got our food. They closed 42 minutes ago and people are just now getting their food when we walked out. Overheard them complaining too. Manager couldn't care less about any complaints. Food was horrible. Thin metal pieces in the sandwich. Burned hamburger. Cold ribs. Gross chicken fried steak. Onion blossom was a complete oil pit and cold. Never. Again. Easily the worst dining experience ever. This was my first time ordering the blooming onion from here and I am very disappointed, the first photo is my first order. I drove from north beach to pick up and head back, this is what me and my guest got into too. We couldn't finish it as it tasted very burnt and bitter, I called and spoke with the manager about the issue. She was nice enough to remake it, so I drove back into town for my remake order. After picking up my order (2nd photo) and driving back to north beach, this is yet again another disappointing blooming onion. It's over cooked, taste bitter and burnt, I don't know if their grease is dirty or what's going on behind the fryers but this was my first and definitely my last time ordering from there. I'll stick with my Texas Roadhouse, they've never disappointed me.
