Tried the mini tacos plate w/charro beans here, I added avocado to mine. Food was good and service was good too. Be back soon. :)

The Gold Fish has proven this long-held collective pessimism wrong. Originally a cocktail bar only, it has now expanded into a cocktail, beer and wine outdoor/indoor bar, which makes complete sense given the city's demographic demands. It was actually one of the first businesses I was most concerned with us losing permanently during the pandemic. And I am so glad they have stuck around! It is a modern cocktail bar at its core, which makes it very unique to this city. This is an obvious adoption of cocktail bar trends from other larger cities in Texas. It is very nice, with a wide array of adult beverage options for discriminating consumers to chose from. The atmosphere is perfect, and the bartenders and staff are top-notch and super nice (the attitude is refreshing compared to what one may be used to recieving from such establishments in larger cities). I usually only come here when I have company from out-of-town, as I do not go out for drinks very often. At my most recent visit, I had just experienced a personal tragedy that I only briefly alluded to our bartender when she asked how our day was going. The amount of sincere compassion we received was not expected at all. My only regret is that I did not get her name, or else I would have gladly included it in this review.

However, the food here more than exceeded the highest of expectations. We visited with the lunch menu, started with the Blue Crab Tostadas, she ordered the French Dip, I ordered the Lamb Burger. Every bite was enjoyable. We will be back. We arrived at about 2:30 and they were just about to close the kitchen to regroup for dinner. People that came after us had to wait about an hour before the kitchen was back up. Plan accordingly. If there is one minor thing to wish were different, because it is so close to the water, every surface is sticky. It's to be expected with the humidity, but it was noticeable.

We loved the fries especially, and the mussels were delicious! The snapper dip was also very good. This place is tucked away inside of the gift shop at Harrison's Landing, so you have to look for it a bit but it's a truly great spot if you can find it. Wait staff was friendly and while service was a tiny bit slow, that was easily overcome by how good everything tasted. Plus, they only had two people working front of house when we arrived, and only a couple of seats open in the whole place, so I can't fault them for being a little slow. Overall very highly recommend and will be back!

This place is the coolest whiskey bar meets fine dining--and it nails both sides perfectly. I travel to Corpus for work and customer visits, but this is one of those rare spots where I'd come back just for the restaurant. The whiskey selection is outstanding--deep, thoughtful, and clearly curated by people who actually know and love whiskey. Whether you're a bourbon guy, a Scotch drinker, or just want to explore something new, the staff knows their stuff and makes great recommendations without any pretension. The food is where it really separates itself. This isn't bar food pretending to be upscale--this is legit, well-executed, chef-driven cuisine that easily competes with big-city dining. Every dish feels intentional, balanced, and elevated. It's the kind of place where you slow down, enjoy the experience, and immediately start planning what you're ordering next time. Atmosphere-wise, it's spot on: moody, polished, and cool without trying too hard. Perfect for entertaining customers, a business dinner, or just treating yourself after a long day. Corpus Christi is lucky to have this place. Nueces Whiskey Library sets the bar high--and then pours you something great while doing it.

We arrived after having had dinner and despite it being busy (it was a Friday night), we were seated quickly. Its got an old-timey vibe which is enhanced by the decor they use and the fact they were playing a black and white film on the projector. The bar area itself is gorgeous and displays what looks like hundreds of bottles of whiskey. We tried their sazarac and the Anastasia Grey. While I love anything earl grey, I wasnt the biggest fan of the charcoal element but thats a personal preference. It was rather busy so it took some time to get a hold of our server but understandable considering he also had other tables to focus on!

Incredibly attentive (by default) he was great at answering our questions and making recommendations. I tried out the Balacera - boasting both mezcal and absinthe, two widely hated spirits on their own which had the potential to make it disgusting...and it was fantastic! Super unique and refreshing on the particularly muggy day. We also ordered a cherry vodka soda, which came topped with homemade maraschinos and juice, which was equally tasty. We also tried out a gin daisy and ghost of greyhound (a nod to the location previously being a bus station, hence, the BUS moniker). The gin daisy was a little too heavy on aperol for my tastes, but the ghost was another hit. It was great to see a specialty menu of drink combinations you don't often find. We didn't stick around for food, but couldn't help but take in the cute decorations and details both inside and out. A fun addition to the widening "trendification" of downtown Corpus. I do believe I will be adding this to my rotation when in town!
