1st of all I was gonna buy a drink, but, there were no prices on then menu and our waitress had no idea of the cost, lol. I went ahead and ordered blindly for a frozen margarita, my lady stuck with water. I ordered the standard chicken Sandwhich, which was exactly that. My lady ordered a six ounce sorlon with broccoli, it arrived looking like a two ounce ground beef patty and the broccoli was so soft it was in edible, yuck. The manager was sent over due to our questioning of the drink price, two ounces of six ounce steak and mushy broccoli. We couldn't complain about the steak, due to the three bites and it was gone, but the broccoli was a do over. The repeat broccoli was the exact same. We gave up, paid out bill and headed out. Not a good experience : stopped here for lunch on the way to Dallas and ordered the chicken enchilada soup, they bought me the soup without the tortilla chips, they said it finished. The service was beyond terrible. We got our food at the same time as our appetizer. When we ask to return the appetizer and not pay for it the server would argue and just walked off leaving our food on the tray not even serving us. We talked to one of the managers and she was just pretending to listen. Our server ignored us the rest of our time there and accused my father of cursing at her when he told her to take the appetizer back, which was a lie. She argued again claiming that he cursed then walked away throwing her hands up. All we wanted was an apology for her behavior and she couldn't even give us that. Horrible service. Driving through Texas and stopped for lunch about 2 pm on a weekday. Visit was just what it should be: prompt greeting, friendly service, tasty food. Tried the new Top Shelf tacos with pork and enjoyed them. Hubbie liked the enchiladas he ordered. Am torn about the new table-top tablets with games, menu, ordering, and check-out functions. On the one hand, it's another excuse for people not to talk to each other over a meal. Food was alright, but my major problem i have with them is that the beer there is probably the "warmest beer in navarro county" i love draft beers, but i just wont ever order a beer there again due to the beer temperature. And this isn't the first time. They have good margaritas but DONT order a draft beer unless you don't like them cold. We have eaten here quite a few times and up until today service has been great. Today, however, we sit down and wait...finally our drink order and appetizer order is taken. Took considerable time to get here...oh, no napkins or flatware on the table. In fact, my husband had to go to the bar and get the napkins and flatware. When the appetizer got here, chips and salsa, the chips were fried in lumps. Waiter did not check for drink refills...had to ask. We came there on 11/25/12 to have lunch. The place was full, nice atmosphere. After several minutes, the food came in. I opened the utensils. Surprised!!!! That's a food safety violation with medium violation!! I found melted cheese cover 2bars in the fork & the other fork bar was bend. Talked to the server about this violation, she was surprised too & said sorry. After that she kinda dislike to serve us. My son 5 yo had to come to other server just to get refill for his drink. That's not out fault at all. The manager was there too, she didn't come to our table to say sorry PLUS!!! she refused to give us senior discount. Never ever again come back to this place. Started my order with 3 for $10 got hot tea, salad no croutons said I have a gluten allergy , no cheese I have a dairy allergy, what's on the bacon burger...no mention of cheese. Get my salad all good asked if the dressing I choose two on the side has dairy she asked if dairy and gluten were the same thing, I explained the difference. Passing through on the way to Houston...shocked at the difference in cleanliness .....filthy. all glass was dirty, windows, doors, booths, floors and bathroom. I'm all about the service! The male host was lazy,rude and partial to certain parties! And they were not Families with small children. By passed us and another couple with a small child.he was leaning on the podium when I came in and looked at me without saying a word, like what the hell do you want! Had words with him several times had to get the Manager involved. Although she tried to be accommodating by giving us a free appetizer, the damage was done. Our waitress Jean was also very accommodating . Left her a nice tip.We live near Corsicana and have only been to this Chilis a handful of times because the service is always terrible in one form or another. The food is so so.
