I had to go find them for first refill and the following ones were a bit quicker. I ordered just a Denver omelette and it took a loooong time to get delivered and was pretty oily. Just left after having a meal with my mom and the service was below par. I ordered a strawberry margarita and was brought what was clearly pink lemonade and was so very sour. I did not drink it at all. Mind you I frequentlg come here and that is not what the strawberry margarita tastes like ever. Then they say because they can't reuse it that I still have to pay for it since the manager tried it and she said it wasn't sour. Do better. read more

The service was great! We had a large party, we were seated right away, and everyone's order was taken and served correctly. The highly blended salsa was not my favorite, I prefer a more chunky tomato type salsa. I can not be sure, but the chips seemed to be supplied by Sysco or 3rd party. They were not made fresh in-house, not served hot, or lite and crispy. The chips had stale taste, like they sat on a box awhile. Surprisingly, for a large party, everyones food hit the table hot and steaming. Looking around the table, everything looks visually pleasing. It was disappointing that after digging into the meal, it was only average. Some dishes got passed around and found those to be below expectations. I rank the food itself a 3 if not a 2 stars. I would have given 5 stars if only rating the great continuous and attentive service we received. We were offered to-go drinks, wonderful on a 100+ day. My first time trying this restaurant, I was really bummed that the food was only average, if not slightly below average. read more

El Mexicano has moved to a new location. The atmosphere is good, the food is about the same (there were fewer carrots in the beef enchiladas, but now the filling has potatoes and is fairly sparse), and the service is still a bit off. We ordered guacamole and sour cream to start, but we had to remind the server when she brought the meal. She then claimed that we never ordered it. It arrived half way through the meal. The rest of the meal was correct. The enchiladas were, as I said, sparsely filled and the taste was lacking. The refried beans were fairly close to soup in consistency. The rice was fine. I had high hopes when we went in, I'd been told that things had greatly improved and was looking forward to the meal. The chips, salsa (two types, both flavorful, one with a mild spiciness) and queso were very good. I just wish the rest of the meal had been of the same quality. read more

I attempted to eat lunch here out of sheer curiosity. Being a fan of cheap margaritas and Tex - Mex I can assure you I'm not hard to please. Let me begin with the margarita. It tasted like lemon lime Gatorade left out overnight on the football field, and the tequila was non existent. Next, the queso. Oh I wish I could see the polyurethane tube it was squeezed out of. The origin of the quacamole must also have been tubular with a NASA approved shelf life for interstellar travel. I will not get into detail for the entree, you can find it in any freezer isle at your local walmart. There must be some strange underlying reason this place keeps it's doors open, and I don't care to know less I want to burn in a stack of tires or lose body parts in some crappy border town in Mexico.
