Disappointed in what I thought would be reliable food. This is the worst airport chilis I've ever been to. I noticed it wasn't too busy so I took that as a positive but I should have looked more into it. They have a limited menu (to be expected at an airport), however they've limited the worst things. They have no vegetable side options, as well as no mashed potatoes. So basically your options as fried food or rice & beans. Ok fine. However they also don't make the same food as a normal chilis. I ordered the chicken crispers and instead of being what you'd expect, they were just heavily breaded chicken tenders like you'd find at Dairy Queen, plus sauce. Awful. My fork was bent, the double side of ranch (which I didn't ask for) spilled all over, and there were some lazy flies flying around. Not impressed, DTW. read more

I eat here a lot when I come to Detroit Metro Airport, getting my usual classic Breakfast. Normally, it's fantastic, but this time not so much. I ordered eggs over medium and they came out hard - no yolk to dip my toast into (it's a thing for me). I'll still be back, as I won't punish them for 1/10 mistakes. We had great service and a very quick meal here with my mom and daughter while transiting through with a longer layover (around 3 hours). We chose the chicken crispers with fries and mac and cheese and I added a small side salad for $7 which was HUGE. Impressed with portions, prices, time to get our food and service. This was a great choice for us by our gate and they were good with a baby in a high chair. Win win. read more

Located in B terminal, zero wait in four visits over a few weeks travel. Appreciated consistent attentive service that can move fast or slow depending on your connecting flight needs. Sat at bar. Overall, the food was good--I ordered a cheeseburger with fries, a side of BBQ sauce, and a water, and had no issues with the meal itself. However, the restaurant was quite dirty, with messy tables and floors. The service was decent, but they forgot to bring my water, BBQ sauce, and napkins, which made me wait longer than expected. I had to repeat the ask two or three times. On the bright side, the food arrived promptly, which was appreciated. I did like the payment process arrangement. The waitstaff held the payment terminal to me right after giving the check, so I had to pay immediately at the table. The tipping options were limited to 20%, 22%, or 24%, and if you wanted to tip a different amount, you had to enter it in front of the staff, which felt uncomfortable and inconvenient. read more

Unfortunately the experience fell short. Was crowded due to delayed flights so I get it! Food was average at best. My waitress was nice and helped describe the options when I was first seated. However forgot about me when I asked for the check. The other issues is another waitress was yelling and seemed quite rude about how she's been there 17 years. Chilis allowed us to do just that , and we weren't rushed for only ordering drinks and chips. I stopped in here during a layover, and I'm guessing this place is the reason a lot of people miss their flights or connections. The hostess told me to seat myself, so I did. I waited 25 minutes for someone to acknowledge me - tried to flag down two people, but I was ignored. Finally, a third staff member asked if I'd been helped, I said no, and he took my drink order. 15 minutes later, he had not returned. I just left after that, I was lucky I didn't have a short layover, or I could have missed that flight entirely. I obviously can't speak to the food/drinks because I never got anything, but the atmosphere was nice. Good music and comfortable seating - the back of the restaurant overlooks the runway so you can watch planes take off and land. read more

ATTENTION - Just walked into this Chili's, and it seems like they had just opened (only had one table occupied). I walked past two servers and the bartender, who were in the middle of a conversation. Absolutely horrible service. I was never even greeted... sat at the bar was met with "what are you drinking?" Without a hello or given a menu. My boyfriend asked for a water and the bartender refilled a water cup that was sitting there prior... she didn't even stop back so we didn't have the opportunity to tell her it wasn't our water cup. ridiculous. Typical airport eatery. Got to sit where I wanted which was nice . There were two waitresses and one bar tender working for about 20-30 patrons. My waitress cane over and took my order right away from me. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and some cheese curds. She stated they were out of the topping for the curds which was fine because I didn't really even know there was one They arrived pretty quickly and were very hot. Once I started eating them I noticed they were vastly under seasoned and needed salt. Which was fine but then my order arrived and I had my app and my main meal. Wish it was more staggered out. The burger itself was good however it was placed on such a large bun you couldn't even see the it. I had an older couple sitting behind me and the entire time they just kept complaining about everything. My waitress was their waitress as well and she kept going back and getting them what they asked for. They just never seemed satisfied at all. It was "A-OK" and I am a fan of this location at the airport. It is Chili's not a James Beard award winning location, but it is one of the better options. This place for me is dependable...hot, freshly prepared, and timely food and service. My cheeseburger and fries were delicious and the avocado was fresh and delicious. The servers are quick and attentive, very helpful when your connecting flight doesn't leave a lot of time. The only complaint is the tables are packed pretty close, which is not helpful when people are rolling through with all of their luggage. If you want more than counter service at the airport that serves decent food, I recommend this Chilis. read more

I needed to grab some lunch while waiting for my flight to Chicago Midway, and saw there was a Chili's, so decided to have lunch at Chili's. I had not been in a Chili's in a long, long time, so was looking forward to a nice lunch. I did end up having a nice lunch. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries, and it was very good! The Atwater blonde Ale was an excellent beer!! The craft beer list was very impressive for Chili's, so that was surprising to me, but happy at the same time. The bartenders were very professional and provided me excellent customer service while sitting at the bar. I did think they were distracted at times and were in their own little world, but they did provide good service and took good care of the customers. Chili's has always been a great place for me to get a meal, and this was no exception. The food is always good and the service is always good. I'll come back to Chili's again if I am ever at the Detroit Airport. read more

I ended up not coming in to the place because it was so understaffed. There were empty tables that weren't bussed because there was only one server to handle the entire location. I did not see anyone who appeared to be a manager. There was a line of people waiting to be seated, but they couldn't get a table because those that were empty weren't clean. This place needs new management or the airport should shut it down and put in a tenant who can actually run a restaurant. read more

My low rating is due to COVID-19 concerns. The airport does not currently have a lot of offerings due to the lack of airport traffic and COVID-19. I walked up to the restaurant with no hostess. The bartender told me I could seat myself. I located a table in a corner away from the main traffic areas and sat down. I liked the location because it was out of the way, and I could spread out. When the waitress arrived, she told me I had to move tables. Keep in mind, this was 11am, and the lunch arrivals had not show up yet. There were countless other tables and bar seating available (with distancing). I explained that I was told I could be seated anywhere, and I did not want to move. She let me stay, however, the service went down hill after that. The waitress was very rude and short with me along with fellow passengers. She said the same thing to another woman seated a table of four near me by herself. That woman also chose not to move. They constantly mess my order up. I always ask for no rice or corn. One time they took everything else out of the Chipotle bowel and I only had meat and cheese. Then they put rice in another.
