Pastor Tacos & Chorizo Tacos (with cilantro, onions, and hot salsa on corn tortillas)
Amber C.

Oaxaca is top tier for authentic Mexican tacos (the pastor and chorizo are so flavorful! so addictive! so much better than anywhere else, by far!). It's my fave restaurant in Troy and never lets me down. Service is always nice and speedy. The location has a nifty mural and is kept clean. It's a must visit spot. If you try it, there's a good chance you'll become a regular.

The food was pretty good. Service was excellent! The location is a standard small restaurant in a plaza. We drove from around 40 mins away based on a tik toc we saw. The torta was good, the guac was excellent, the tlayuda was just ok. For the cost of almost 20$ just for the tlayuda they needed to put more meat on it.

Delicious tacos, chips, salsa, rice and beans. We had steak, shrimp and chicken tacos. All around positive experience. Glad we discovered this gem!

Fast and fresh authentic Mexican street food. Service is great as well. We ordered a beef torta, chicken quesadilla, 4 asada (steak) tacos, 2 shrimp tacos, and a large guac with chips. Portions are pretty generous, and flavors are great. Their housemade tortilla chips are thick and crispy. However we like the guac could use some work...maybe more lime and more ingredients, and bigger portions? The large was barely enough for 2. But other than that, we really enjoyed our takeout! Will definitely be back.

Very high expectations based on all the reviews but my order was very meh Shrimp tacos were ok but lacked flavor, steak tacos were dry and also lacked any flavor. Chips were stale. Chicken burrito was filled with rice and beans, just an big soggy mess with absolutely no flavor. Not sure what happened, Taco Bell would have been much better!

Got carryout for lunch here around 3, everything was ready on time and nice and hot. Steak tacos were $5.20 a piece and I feel like you got a good amount of meat for the price. The guacamole was small though for $5 didn't come with chips and was kinda bland. All and all good quick takeout spot close to work. Prolly pass on the Guac next time tho.

I stop here for their horchata. I miss the tilapia protein option, but everything here is superb, including the service!

DoorDash scammers, do not place an order on door dash from this establishment. Accepted my order and never sent my food.

From the doubled up corn tortillas, to the tender well cooked meat, cilantro and their wonderful sautéed onions these Street style Taco's are as authentic as anything you would get in Mexico. The gratis house chips and Salsa were equally tasty and a nice complement to the Taco's all being washed down with a sugar cane based Mexican coke. The total bill came in at a very reasonable cost of $12 which is a great value in today's economy and a great deal by any standard. Relative to staff and facility, this appears to be a small family run business where the restaurant itself is located in a small strip mall at the corner of Franklin and Square Lake Rd with an equally small footprint for the restaurant. This is a very unpretentious business (think hole in a wall but in a nice way) with a limited number of dining tables and small staff. Having said that, I had no problem in getting seated and getting my order taken and food brought out in fairly quick order! I have been on a kick for a while now trying to find the best taco joint in the the northern Oakland county area and have to say this is as good as I have come across up to now and am a big fan of this business. If you are into well made authentic Mexican street taco's than this is a must visit for you. This was my first visit here and definately will not be my last where I will be combining this dining venue with my regular Bloomfield Hills Costco trips which is a Quarter mile from the restaurant.

The food was good - the service from 2 separate servers was absolutely terrible…read more I ordered the Grande Fajita Burrito - Beans on the side. Food comes - I don't see beans on the plate. I ask the server if I could have the beans that come with my burrito - his reply - "Its only one scoop!" I was confused - and repeated my question - "May I have the beans that come with my burrito?" The server repeated - "Its only one scoop!" I thought there may have been a language barrier - but no - he understood what I was asking - and because it was only one scoop of beans - he was not going to bring the beans that came with my burrito; So, he repeated for a 4th time - "its only one scoop" - as if that qualified why I should be ok with not getting a part of the meal I paid for! What made the experience worse - my beans were not the only thing the server either forgot or just didn't want to bring to the table, But we wanted to order drinks, NOPE! - he didn't bring the Verde salsa, and when we a table of 5 asked for missing items - he showed in tone, facial expression, that he was irritated with our questions for the very things that came with our meals! The terrible service it what killed it for me! Just disappointing.

The restaurant itself has a relatively small foot print where the tables are close together and where there are no frills about this place and definately a tad on the rustic side. Facility aside, this place makes some excellent authentic Mexican street tacos where my El Pastor and Asada taco's were well made, PACKED with meat (no scrimping here) and oh so tasty. Service is quite quick where once seated you get your food within a few minutes making this an excellent spot if you are on the run and looking for a good meal on the quick. Prices are cheap in my opinion where my three taco's and a coke came to just $12. NICE! Two things to note here is that the chips and salsa are not gratis but come at an extra cost and follow up once you get food was non existent in my case. Chips and salsa was not a big deal to me but lack of follow up prevented this business from getting a fifth star. Overall and my minor gripes aside, if you are fan of really good Mexican street taco's than this is a must visit if you are in the area! It used to be they provide chips and salsa as appetizers but since inflation is up ... you have to order separately. I've tried other taco places and I keep wondering why we always come back here ... maybe because it is more convenient. Ordered chorizo soft tacos with cheese and chicken enchiladas ... no substitute... flavor is bland so just add the red or green hot sauce. Kind of rude to hear the workers speak in Spanish. I will have to go somewhere else. Food is bland and the service today is terrible.

I've…read morebeen coming here for over five years, and at this point, it is one of the only places I'll go when I want tacos because everything else tends to leave me wondering why I didn't just come here in the first place. The tacos are every bit as good as people say and the environment is clean and relaxed, they usually have some good music playing too. Authentic, flavorful, consistent, and made with care. But the birria is the real star for me. Hands down, it is the best birria I've had anywhere in Metro Detroit. Rich, tender, packed with flavor, and exactly the kind of thing you think about again later like it owes you money. The owner is also genuinely one of the sweetest people. He remembered my order after only a few visits, and that kind of personal touch makes the place feel even more special. I usually stick with my Mexican Coke, but I love that they have their liquor license now, because a margarita or Corona with the food is a very solid upgrade. I've brought a bunch of people here and sent a whole handful of others, and everyone has said the same thing. It is some of the best Mexican food they've ever had. One of my friends even said it was better than what he had in California and Mexico, which is a bold statement, but Que Pasa can handle bold statements. Que Pasa is not just good for the area, it is the standard I compare everyone else to. Which is probably unfair to everyone else, but here we are.

Things that worked at Que Pasa: the margaritas were excellent, and all the food we tried (tortas, tacos, burritos, quesadillas) were very good too. Things that need work: there was definitely a language barrier ordering and requesting that they bill our three families separately. They were using a handheld machine for orders and it took three times going over our order before it was finally put in correctly. Although we asked for bills separated, we wound up with one bill, which was too tricky to split up the way they had entered everything, so we paid for everything and had to figure out $ later. Not a major deal, just a nuisance. Also, no AC and the seating was the type of wood that needs shellacking since the shine has worn off and it's sticky. You leave feeling sweaty and sticky, and that's not the way you want to feel on a hot day.
