Here is why I would recommend Marina auto body My scheduled appointment was easy They followed up prior to my appt When I arrived with my vehicle on schedule, an adjuster came out, took a look at the vehicle: thought the damage might be buffed out. I agreed to let them try and within 10 minutes the damage had been buffed/waxed The adjuster was quick to tell me if it was not satisfactory to me that they would move forward with a claim. It was excellent work! I chose to stick with the buffed out work on my car. It did not cause the responsible party a dime or my insurance company. I recently got into an accident where the other driver backed into my car and put a big dent on my bumper and popped out a side panel with a busted lower tail light. They fixed it up so well that it doesn't look like any damages had occurred. It's looking like brand new. The service and professionalism is top notch. Eric and Christy made sure to keep me updated with repairs and give me an accurate ETA. My repairs took a little less than 3 weeks to complete. I retrieved my car a few days early which was a surprise to me. That indicates they work fast and efficiently. The value of workmanship is very much appreciated. Marina Auto Body fixed my car after it had been hit. They really did a great job. Everyone who works there was very nice and seems very honest. They worked with my insurance without any problems. If I had to get body work done again I will go to Marina again for sure. The only problem is that my car took a really long time to get fixed. Parts can make the wait longer, but it still took too long even if parts were really slow. Aside from it taking too long, Marina is great! read more

I waited 10 days for an appointment to get an estimate for repairs to my 2022 Toyota Highlander. My car was damaged by another driver who's insurance was covering the bill. I went to the auto repair facility the insurance company recommended but doing my due diligence I wanted a couple other estimates so I could compare repair recommendations, This is a new car and I wanted the repairs done correct and done well. I decided to get an estimate from Marina Auto Body because of prior positive experiences with them (I use to work at a business that was near them). Before providing me with an estimate Chrissy at Marina Auto Body reached out to the adjuster on the case asking for the estimate from the first body shop I went to which the adjuster didn't have yet because I hadn't decided what repair facility I was using. The adjuster explained even if she had it she wouldn't be releasing it to another shop, when I asked why Marina auto body might need it the adjuster said she had no clue. I don't know what Chrissy/Marina Auto Body's goal was but my goal is to get a estimate for repairs to my vehicle but they refused. I know I have the right to get the repairs done at the facility of my choice. I even asked if i could have an estimate as a cash paying customer to which she told me no. I was basically begging to give them my business and they wouldn't even give me the time of day. Take your business elsewhere, maybe to someone that will actually appreciate it. read more

I took my vehicle to Marina Auto Body as a preferred member with my insurance. Another vehicle hit me - welcome to LA - I incurred a lot of stress because they (the other party) lied, etc. This was back in August 2022. I paid my deductible and everything was settled - car repaired, picked up.... Fast forward to today. I received a call/vm out of the blue from Juan at Marina Auto Body - I'm at work and check the message - also in process of qualifying to buy a house. Voicemail - You have a balance due that wasn't paid and if you don't pay if after we attempt to call you, it will go to collections... Really??? 8 months later after no contact, deductible paid, no vms, emails from my insurance or Marina Auto Body and they say I owe money and its going to collections??? When I called them back to inquire 1. If there was balance due why did they wait 8 months later to notify me. 2. Why the hell would you leave a voicemail scaring somebody about collections and it's the first call you make to them about a potential amount due that they were never contacted about before? He said he was just doing his job - what??? 8 months later still insisting that I owed the money. He said that my insurance company told them that I received a check for little over $300 and cashed it and was supposed to give it to them. I contacted my insurance company to see what was going on. They told me that they mailed the check for $300 plus directly to the Marina Auto Body not to me - so they lost the check??? idk - it had nothing to do with me. I will never take my vehicle back there - you don't call somebody 8 months later with some nonsense that someone wasn't even aware of or responsible for and scare them with collections. A curved strip of metal on the road boomeranged into the side of my car & left white nicks/scrapes on the driver & passenger side door. This is the worst auto body place I have ever been to, customer is terrible and work is terrible I paid to have my truck painted and it was there for five months and when I picked it up it was dirty inside and out. I had to have my radio repaired and window tint that they damaged. they removed my door panels and did not reinstall them and the paint job was terrible. I really liked this body shop because of their service. They pick up the phones right away, and very clear, helpful and friendly. I got into a fender bender recently and my insurance AAA recommended this shop among others. I picked this one because of its close vicinity to where I live and also it was super convenient that the rental car place with nearby as well. They were quick to finish the job and also called me to let me know when car was ready. It happened during Memorial day weekend and I was away but they made sure to leave me a couple messages so that upon my return my car would be ready. When I did finally get my car back, my AC started making weird sounds so I immediately called them and said that sound wasn't there before. They said no problem, took my car in for the day and also took care of my rental for the day. The next day my car was fixed and the AC sound was gone. Great job - I appreciate your help! After someone reversed into my car for second time in a year or so, I decided I couldn't deal with the hassle of my previous body shop that was a good hour away as these things suck a lot of time, and it was pretty small job. So, I took the body shop prescribed by the other party's insurance company, and that was Marina Autobody. So, I guess I only have myself to blame. OK, OK, my car is old but my money is new (or at least the insurance company's money is new). Maybe people with old cars are judged to be less fussy. Maybe we just love old cars. Or maybe all we ask for is to have our cars returned to us in the same state they were in before they were hit. I mean, I didn't expect to drop off a Pinto and pick up a Ferrari. What I got was comically immature and poor service. I would laugh if I wasn't so tired off this kind of stuff. I would laugh if I didn't have to keep taking time off work to deal with it. I would laugh if I wasn't put in the awkward position of having to tell someone I don't like being treated like crap. In short, I went to pick up my car after the repair. The friendly man who had been supervising the job for me was not there that morning, so I spoke to the receptionist. I announced my arrival in advance as I was told I had to pick up the car now that it was ready as the insurance company would not be happy about covering the rental car any longer. So much with fitting around my schedule. Despite my advance notice, I was kept waiting 20 minutes or more while the car was brought out, still wet with water. I was told it was waiting outside for me. No walk-around I guess, no-one exalting their amazing workmanship. So you can guess what's coming. The dents were gone but the paint job was textured like cottage cheese (though the color did match I guess, so points for that). These guys specialize in Mercedes. Mine is not a Mercedes. Maybe painting Mercedes is much easier. Maybe Mercedes owners like paint jobs that look like they were done with a bath sponge. I went back in, and the nice man who had been supervising the job had now (mysteriously) returned to his desk, cringing on the sight of me I guess. Even he didn't argue it. He rubbed his chin and said something like "yeah, it's bad. We'll do it again". The subtext was "I was hoping you wouldn't give a shit about your old car". So it was done again, and now the two sides of the car look roughly the same. Plenty of wasted time, labor and pain. I mean paint. Freudian slip. The door doesn't latch properly anymore, but I can't be arsed to go through this dance again. Maybe I don't give a shit after all. Not anymore at least. Sigh..... read more

After a minor accident that caused cosmetic damage to the driver's side of my car, I went to Marina Auto Body because it was a recommended "in-network" shop with my insurance. The place was packed and busy, which I took to be a good sign. Unfortunately, Marina was too busy to be bothered to return my calls promptly or get me information about my vehicle in a timely manner. It took them two days to assess minor damage and prepare an estimate, and every time I called this shop, I never got through to my customer service rep. I always had to leave a voicemail. Worse, they tried to convince me I needed frame repairs because previous frame repairs "weren't done properly" or else they wouldn't guarantee their work. This amounted to a $1000 upsell for a fix that would not make my car safer or drive better--15% of the value of my car. The delays continued: when I asked for an estimate and pictures, I was told I would receive them by 1pm, and didn't receive them until 5 minutes before they closed, meaning I couldn't discuss the photos until the next day. Upon seeing and discussing the photos, I declined the fix. Suddenly "we won't guarantee our work" became "we won't do the work at all". I asked to speak to their manager, but he went out of town, and when he came back, he didn't call me as promised by his staff. At that point, I changed body shops. The new shop found two areas of damage the original shop had missed, one of them quite obvious: a busted headlight. Clearly, they were too busy to call me back and too busy to do a thorough job finding damage from the accident. And--finally--I received a call from Marina to ask how I enjoyed my repairs. Clearly, they didn't even update their files to show my car was moved to another shop. Bah! read more

Hands Down, the worse Auto Body Shop I have ever been to. It was utterly ridiculous. First off, I got an estimate last minute on repairs that was only a 1.5 hour job. Nonetheless, I was charged for 6.5 hours of labor at the mechanical rate which is more than double the normal rate and none of the repairs were mechanical. Thank the lord I bought the parts for them to use separately. I asked about the increase in cost as I was told the car would be ready in 2 hours, and the guy (Tom) actually tried to sell me on the type of labor. He could have said they may use multiple people, or anything. He was just trying to make more money. That was fine, once I heard him lying through his teeth, I figured I'd get better service since I was paying premium for the repairs. WRONG! This place specializes in Mercedes - PLEASE SPARE ME! The repairs were lackluster and done with about 50% effort and attention to detail. You can tell right on sight. There were a few good things about the experience. They were able to drive me to a destination (walking distance away) while I was waiting for my car; the car was ready in 2 hours; they washed my car; and they were extremely cordial. Unfortunately for them, all I remember is how bad the repairs, the price I paid for a horrible, lackluster job, and being lied to. WILL NOT RECOMMEND NOR GO TO EVER AGAIN, and I live 2 minutes away. When I first came to LA, the "tumbler" on my car door broke, and I could not unlock/lock my driver's side door. I went to several other shops, including my dealership's shop, and they told me it broke because of "tampering." No way. I know basic mechanics, and I know those tumbler clips are made of brittle plastic. I also know that no one was tampering with the door because the tumbler fell afterI was driving on the highway for several hours. No tool marks on the door, and the tumbler fell as I used the door key. Anyone with half a brain would be able to deduce this. Yet, three auto places were trying to get me to pay hundreds to have the tumbler, the lock and window AND (at one place) the whole door replaced. Are you serious?! My (new) insurance agent recommended Marina Auto Body. He said they were honest, and said they did good work.... and that they could possibly take a look at it. I dropped the car off in the morning and asked them to phone with an estimate. Well, when I got a call at the end of the day, imagine my surprise when they said the car was ready to go. "You guys did the work? I thought you were going to call for approval?" No approval on price needed. They fixed the tumbler clip for FREE! I know the part was only a dollar, but I also know they had to take the panel off the door and put it back on. I was totally impressed by the good will those mechanics showed me. Couldn't be happier, and it felt great to have an auto place finally listen to me instead of tell me that I didn't know what I was talking about. Hopefully, I won't need to come here for repairs. But if I do, I have full confidence they'll do the job the right way. read more

I came here on the recommendation of the Mercedes dealership after my car got side-swiped while I was waiting at a red light. If you're wondering if I chased down that mofo and got their insurance, you bet I did. So my experience with this shop was probably made more pleasant by the fact that someone else's insurance was paying for the whole deal. I went in on a Saturday morning for my estimate, and the whole process was really quick (tip: come in right when they open, and you won't have to wait). I had a little sticker shock when my estimate for a pretty small scrape came to over a grand, but I honestly didn't expect body work on a European car to be cheap. My customer service guy was John, and he was excellent: very friendly, and very clear about what needed to be done. In fact, everyone who worked here was super nice and helpful. Dealing with the insurance company was completely seamless: from faxing an estimate, to billing the company, and even getting me a rental car. They had my car for about 4 days, and the end result was fabulous: it looks like new, and they even fixed a small scratch that was there before the accident. Score! If someone else is paying for your body work, I would definitely recommend this shop. Otherwise, their prices are a bit high and they keep your car for awhile (initial estimate is 5 business days, which can span a weekend if you don't plan well), so it's definitely not a place to go if you're on a budget and/or don't want to get a rental car. Hopefully I'll never need to come here again, but be warned--if you are stupid enough to hit my car, I will find you and make you pay for a return visit. read more
