My rear fender had come loose on my 2020 Lexus which I own. It is attached to the bumper. I had been told that I needed to replace the bumper by the service center I showed it to. The cost would be about $2000. A friend recommended I see Shant at Marina West. He told me he could try to epoxy the broken rivets and, while there was no guarantee it will hold forever it was worth a try and would cost $100. I decided to do it. He and his wife, are so lovely to deal with. I went home and two hours later I got a call and text that my car was ready. It looks like new. I am thrilled. Dishonest and shady and a rip off, I had my door replaced here and they refused to give me an itemized receipt to tell me the cost of the replacement parts, the door doesn't even match all the way there is a plastic flap that sticks out like a sore thumb and the mirror is slightly larger than the factory door; $3000. Just WOW! I had a minor parking lot accident that caused paint chips and scratches on my red Mazda's bumper. They quoted me a lot less than I thought and within 1 day the car was brand new again without having to change the whole bumper. They also walked me through everything they needed to repair and at not point did I feel they were adding unnecessary repairs. While the repairs took longer than their original estimate, they were upfront and accommodating about finding a reasonable solution. as far as their repair work, I needed a new side panel, front bumper and door. I normally would let things like this go, but Shant doesn't deserve mercy. So here is my experience: Behind Shant's honest sounding promises are lies, nasty job and twisted values. I took my 2019 Audi Q5 to this guy for a minor paint job. He quoted my insurance company $2150 when bodyshops only ask for $550-$800, then Shant says he would offer a $500 deductible. A week later, I came back to pick up my car, I found an area was not polished. I waited for almost another week, came back, again found a part of the paint were not polished. When I ask him to sand it down, he told me that because he gave me a $500 deductible discount, this is the quality I should expect! I was pissed and asked him to clean it up. Then he yelled me and said that I need to leave his property or he will call the cops. (Shant claims that he does lots of work for the cops, I wonder what cops would do if they show up) I didn't feel like dealing with someone who got such twisted values, so I walked away with the possibility of paying more insurance next year and unfinished paint job. Great job Shant, no one can stop you from getting your karma. read more

I took my 4Runner here to fix my rear bumper after getting into an accident. At first, from the outside their work looked good. Faint orange peel look on the paint, but acceptable. After a month or so I took it through a car wash and the newly painted bumper peeled in a few spots. I chalked it up to the car wash. Fast forward a few years later I'm doing some work under my car adding an aftermarket bumper, and I see all the things that they said they fixed but clearly didn't. They charged me for all the extra body damage that was under the bumper, but didn't actually take the time to fix it. They only did what they though would be seen by the layperson. I would recommend going somewhere else that is more honest. read more

I didn't bring it back right away but when I took it back the guy told me I waited too long and the warranty was up and quoted me a ridiculous price to repair the mess they made. I don't think I've ever reviewed a business twice. But I washed my car yesterday, & it was nice and sunny and that allowed me to once again compare the paint of my bumper to that of the rest of my car. Not to mention the mis-alignment of it as well. I see these positive reviews, and I honestly wonder what I'm missing? I've had plenty of conversations with Shant in the past, so it's not like he had any reason to screw me over the way he did. And I can't imagine a business, particularly in this part of the city, could survive for so long by doing shoddy work. But the job done on my car was unacceptable to the point that everyone I have shown it to has lambasted it. That's how obvious it is. I truly blame myself for accepting it initially and not being more observant. But that was mostly a result of my busy work schedule and also just giving them the benefit of the doubt and expecting them to do a flawless job, which they didn't come close to. And his response when I returned was just the cherry on top. And yeah, Shant, I know you read these, so I hope you realize you screwed someone over for absolutely no reason whatsoever and then chose to be defensive when presented with it. read more

There is something very special about this shop and their owners. Shant and his wife are delightful, knowledgeable, and right down good people. I recently took my car to consult about stains caused by a fruit tree on the hood of my car. Shant looked at it and made recommendations. There are only two shops that I know of in Southern California that work on cars that are older than 5 years, ones 20/20 the other is Marina West. This is not uncommon because many times parts for these cars are discontinued. My car, a 1995 Toyota Supra is one of them. Finding most crucial parts for this car or cars like it is like finding an all Meat restaurant in Silverlake. It doesn't exist or if it does, you pay an arm and a leg for it or have to settle for something fake that looks like it. This is because many if not half of the parts for Supras are discontinued by Toyota. In this case I thought I would have to have to settle for a fake bumper. Shan't would have NOTHING of it, he worked his magic on my car and bought it back to brand new. I was speechless. This man and his people are also nothing short of humble and honest. I dont know the words to say that would equate to the miracle the provided me. All in all... if you have ANY car, especially if you have a speciality or exotic car, go to Shan't.
