Went here with my colleagues for lunch. I was craving a meatball sub and they all mentioned the old doctors from my job used to go here for lunch. So we all decided to go ahead and check it out. Its located approx 20 mins or so from the job so it is a drive! I was reading yelp prior to us driving here and they rec calling in your order and picking it up because lunch hours is BUSY! As we got there - There was already a line! We were nervous because we didnt have that much time to eat and we were confused because the lady who takes and deliver orders we felt she skipped us to take our order while standing in line. She was by herself serving the foods to a almost packed place! I ordered the Parmesan Meatball Sub and it was $6.95 plus tax. After you pay you are then seated to any table you request and drinks and bread basket is already served for you with utensils. The bread was not warm or hot but it was so soft and delicious! The creamy garlic butter was delicious too it had the right amount of garlic in it! My Parmesan Meatball Sub came in and It looked delicious! It 2 pcs 9" sub thats cut in half. The cheese is melted all over my sub! The meatball isnt as big as I expected though from a mom & pops place. I used a fork to eat my sub and after eating 1 out of 2 of my sub I was already full! Perhaps the garlic butter & bread made me full faster! 2 of My colleagues had the soup and salad special for $6.50 or you can opt for the spaghetti and meatball for also $6.50. Thursdays they offer all you can eat Spaghetti! This place is closed on weekends though! I would def come back here and try other options! They sell thier garlic butter , Italian dressing for retail! This is an establishment with heart and a "feel good" place to visit. This restaurant serves comfort food at reasonable prices. It's a scratch kitchen that's uses their own family recipes. The building is old and lacks atmosphere but the service is friendly and accommodating. The red sauce was kind of watery and the pasta was poorly reheated but the Chicken Parmesan was good. This mom and pop Italian restaurant has been around for awhile, right in the midst of Downtown St. Cloud. I would advise that you get here at a reasonable time, unless you want to wait in line. The process of making an order isn't what you'd expect from an Italian restaurant. The line that you may possibly wait in, is to place your order of food, and then you seat yourself. If you came for dinner, your entree order comes with a house salad and their fresh baked bread. The bread is made daily, it's soft, but cold, which was odd to me but no big deal. The bread comes with garlic butter and if that's not your taste, they have regular butter in house. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, ravioli and meatballs, fettuccine alfredo with chicken and a pepperoni pizza. What a wonderful find! From the moment we walked in, the aroma had us hooked. The food was fantastic and the service incredibly friendly. Our side salads had chunky tomatoes and cucumbers and a flavorful Italian dressing. Our entrees were perfect. My husband loved his chicken Parmesan and I ordered the special - gnocchi with sausage in a pesto sauce. It was so great, with an excellent pesto and flavorful Italian sausage. I absolutely loved it. It was smooth, creamy, and had a wonderful garlicky kick. The salad? They make homemade Italian dressing too that you can purchase. Eating salads for me is usually painful, but with this Italian dressing? I could eat salads forever. Our large table got an array of different foods. Yes, you are right, I haven't even gotten to the entrees yet. I got the cheese calzone. It's a unique take that has the contents open and is shaped like a pizza of its own. I nearly face planted into the cheese. The marinara sauce is not only sweet, but savory. Aka the perfect combo. My fiancé got the chicken parm special. He licked the plate clean. As for dessert? While walking downtown St. Cloud, we came across this restaurant and decided to stop by to check it out. Once we came in we sat right away but didn't know we had to come all the way to the front to order the food and pay, so after a few minutes later we did that. We ordered a cheese pizza and it was really good, the cheese very tasty. My mom ordered a coffee and it wasn't hot enough, so we told the server about it but the coffee she brought the second time was the same temperature, so we were not pleased about that. We love the food at Chimentos but had over the top service last night. We ordered a couple orders of Spagetti and desserts via doordash. The doordash driver only dropped off the desserts and no meals. We tried to contact doordash driver, but he wouldn't answer and then blocked us. Came on a Thursday night and it was pretty busy which already sets a great precedence for popularity. There is a small parking lot in front of the restaurant and the street itself was we'll lit with decorations and festive lights from the city. I was already in a better mood when I entered. We moved back home a little over a year ago and haven't been back to Saint cloud since. We stopped in tonight and it was like we never left. Last time we were here my wife is pregnant and we got to have a little boy have his first spaghetti house experience and it was truly wonderful. So far so good with the new ownership. Food is great as the new menu options are fantastic. Our group's only concern is the choice to get rid of the Italian recorded music. Italian food/Italian music makes sense but has been replaced with a eclectic mix of inappropriate rock music that is 7-10 decibels to loud for pleasant group conversations. I really liked this place, if you want fancy Italian food, don't waste your time. If you want home cooked like your momma made on a Monday night, then come on in. This place offers all the comforts of what you would get at home. Could you make yours better? Maybe, maybe not, but I have to say their fresh baked bread was freaking awesome, made fresh everyday it was so soft and warm. I got their chicken Alfredo and it was good, I actually took half home as the portions are pretty generous. When I brought it home I added lemon zest and capers and I swear I felt like I made a holy itallian creation, but it was only achieved with the base and that was all this place! They can get pretty busy so they do offer take out. But if you decide to dine in, the service is pretty good. She took care of the whole place by herself, however we were patient and she was so sweet it was worth the wait. read more

My wife and I had the pleasure of trying Chimento's Spaghetti House for the first time this weekend. We had heard from a friend that the chicken fettuccini was delicious and the family owned atmosphere made you feel at home. Needless to say our experience was everything we anticipated and more. The staff was super friendly and the service was fast and attentive. Our meal started with the house salad that was topped with a slightly sweet homemade dressing which contrasted the peas and cucumbers (Fantastic!). For our entrees my wife had the chicken and peas fettuccini and I copied her order but added an Italian sausage to spice things up (Magnifique! ). The coup de grâce was a cannoli topped with chocolates chips and a homemade brownie (Standing Ovation!). Everything was absolutely delicious and the price was unbelievably reasonable - I got a chance to speak with the owner and she mentioned that a beer and wine menu will soon be arriving!!! Folks here were friendly. Place could use a remodel as it is trying for homey but ends up very dated. It is definitely not homemade Italian as I would expect from a "mom & pop" type restaurant. They flavor of some of the dishes were watered down and breaded items tasted somewhat stale. Garlic butter was great but would have been even better on warm or toasted bread. Chimento's is a family-run Italian joint right in the quaint little downtown Saint Cloud. The Chimento family moved to Saint Cloud from Northern New Jersey about 50 years ago and supposedly has made this little business into a staple of Saint Cloud. It's not like your usual Italian restaurants. It's humble, casual, and direct. You go to the counter, choose between spaghettis, lasagnas, calzones, or subs, pay, then they set you up and bring it out to you. I got the steak and cheese spaghetti, which is pretty much their typical spaghetti topped with a huge layer of shaved meat (I think it's the same meat they use on the Philly Cheese Steak) and on top of the steak there is a thick layer of melted mozzarella. The spaghetti was decent but could have used a lot more sauce. The lunch portions just come with bread while the dinner portions come with bread and salad. The bread is not hot but for some reason is pretty delicious. The salad is nothing to scoff at either, the Italian dressing tastes homemade and the salad includes garbanzo beans, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions. I'd like to come back and try a calzone or a lasagna because the spaghetti didn't drive me crazy. But, it was good and I recommend checking it out if you're in the area. Don't drive out of your way to come here but if you're already here, it's a cheap and decent lunch and you'll be helping out a local establishment. read more

This place is in the heart of downtown St.Cloud and has been owned by the same couple for as long as I can remember. Small parking lot with tight spots but there is street parking. When you walk in you get the down home feeling. In a good way but it is time to update the decor. You are welcomed as soon as you enter. They are genuinely happy to see you. You walk up to the counter order, pay your bill and take a seat. Before you even finish paying, they have gotten your drinks and brought them to a table for you. You follow where they bring your drinks. I do like this service. They also bring bread and garlic butter with your drinks. Great garlic butter. Good ice tea here. I ordered the pasta with mushrooms and hubby ordered the eggplant parm. sub. Mine came with the house salad with their homemade dressing. I love the dressing. They sell it by the bottle. The food came out fairly quickly. Hubby sub came with a bag of chips and 2 banana peppers. My pasta was for sure not freshly made. It tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave, the top pasta was hard and cold. The bottom was not warm. The pasta was served with the mushrooms on top and the sauce on the side. I like the sauce on the side idea because you can add what you want. The sauce was hot so it kind of made up for the temp being off on the pasta. The sauce had good flavor to it. It was a tad watery. I thought the hubby's sandwich was on the small side but he enjoyed it. I didn't go to the bathroom here because I know from being here previously that you have to leave the restaurant through a side door, and walk down a hallway to use it. I think it is shared with other business in the strip. It has changed from what I remember. They are trying to keep up the hometown feel which is good but not sure then can. Came here for lunch. Got the spaghetti with meatballs special and wife got the ravioli. Just your average diner. Sauce tastes prepackaged and meatballs although decent, were a bit dry. Pasta was overcooked for my tastes as I like it al dente. Thank God they had Tabasco sauce and salt and pepper on the table as it allow us to add some seasoning. Service was okay and decor is family run diner. Prices were good. Bread looks to be made there, but it wasn't baked fresh as it was cold (as if it came from the fridge...which is a shame).
