This place has been on our list since opening and we finally stopped by on a Saturday afternoon to grab lunch. We ordered six empanadas (beef, ham and cheese and carmelized onion and cheese) - definitely the best I've found outside of Argentina! The owner was friendly and offered to bring our order out to the car when it was ready. We tipped generously (thanks to COVID-19) and our order arrived hot and fresh in about 10 minutes. The empanadas were delicious with a light, flaky dough (baked, not fried) with a generous amount of filling. The chimichurri sauce was amazing - bright, fresh with just the right amount of garlic (they should sell this stuff by the bottle). My husband can't wait to go back and try the sandwiches. The hours may be a little hit or miss, but definitely worth a visit if you can catch them when they are open.

I had the caprese and spinach empanadas and they were a 10/10. This place has the best empanadas I have ever had...hands down. Literally nothing to complain about. Will return again and again. Empanadas were light and flaky, not greasy...the fillings were delicious and high quality. Sauces were small, but freshly made with great quality oils and ingredients, and bursting with flavor. This place is so good it is hard to believe it is in South Bend.

I drove by this place several times and I couldn't tell exactly what it was. And then I finally stopped one day and I was so glad I did. Currently, they are only doing empanadas. They're building a fireplace type Grill and they're going to do what Argentina is famous for is cooking beef and lamb. The owner who he and his wife are from Argentina told me that they're going to be doing several different cuts of meat on the grill serve with their chimichurri sauce and criolla sauce. So for now all I can tell you is the empanadas are the real deal! The empanadas I tried were the spinach and cheese, caramelized onion and cheese, and beef. Which they cook there and were delicious. I took a dozen home for my wife. They also have one that's like a round sandwich made with caramel and a little bit of coconut on the outside for dessert. When they complete the grill I can't wait to try their food again. For now I'll definitely be going back for the empanadas. Keep in mind that this is outdoor seating only with a walk-up window. And the signage is not great.

Ahhhh lve always have had a weakness/preference for family owned AUTHENTIC ethnic restaurants. But I've learned with the good qualities that come with establishments such as these, also come CONS! Never would I have thought I would've had the experience I have had with this place. Smh! Around the time this place first emerged (which was roughly a year ago) I ventured to their location. Soooo eager to savor Latin empanadas, and their other dishes I went on a Monday during lunch hours. In case people don't know, a lot of Hispanic restaurants operate on different hours than American restaurants and close at 2 and re-open at 5 which is common in Latin countries. They operate on what I call siesta time. So anywho I went around noon... strangely they were closed?? Huh. Bizarre I said. So went on Yelp to confirm hours and this place had NOTHING listed. No phone number, no hours, just an email!!!! So I emailed the manager to inquire about their business and get this....... their email was INVALID!!! Luckily they were on Facebook and I talked with a manager. He told me their hours. He said they were open on Mondays through Friday's from 1-9pm. So later I venture there a second time during the time he had stated....... and this time it was on a Friday during 5pm. And NO ONE was there!!!!! Are they serious???? So I sent the manager another message on Facebook.... he said an emergency occurred. The third time my boyfriend stopped by on a Friday after 5pm and no one was there and there was a sign saying they'd be back at 5. IT WAS after 5!!!! No one ever came, he waited 30 mins. So as the months passed I drove past this place and the restaurant was pitch black, and I gave up. Out of no where one day I went on yelp and noticed they updated their info, and finally listed a number!!! So I call and to my surprise..... they were open!!! WoW!! After all of this time I finally got to try their food. I must say... it was exceptional, and flavorful. I had no complaints. Great quality and I even recommend their food, and want to go back. However, due to their unreliable business hours, I'm reluctant to say the least. So my advice is if your seeking delicious Latin food you've found the right place. Family owned, delicious, and authentic, but unprofessional. These people need to take business classes because they OBVIOUSLY don't know what it means to operate a business. So food rating: 5, but company rating: 0!!!! I give them a 2 on the yelp scale. Chimichurri you need to get your act together!!! People want food!!! That's all you need to do it's that simple!!!!

First time trying this place, easy 10/10. Nice outdoor seating right in front and great customer service. The food was fresh and hot. The quality is superb, you can tell it was all homemade and they put pride into what they do. The bread for the sandwich was very soft and the flavors were amazing. The empanadas were fantastic! Had a 4 for 3 special: two spinach and cheese, one corn, and one chicken. I would rate them in the order I posted. All were very good but really loved the spinach ones! Owe got their Chimichurri steak sandwich and OMG the sauce on it was so bright and flavorful. The garlic was strong in a wonderful way! The large sandwich is basically two good sized sandwiches, and filled with steak, onions and peppers topped with lettuce, mayo and tomato. The owner was so nice and went out of her way to customize our order for picky kids. It's a limited menu but what they serve is incredible. Coming back to try the empanadas next! read more

What a fun little place I stumbled on during a walk! Right across from Howard Park- Chimichurri provides fun choices for a quick lunch. I usually order a half Chicken Chimi Sandwich with ALL the things and extra sauce. Plus two or three onion and cheese empanadas(they are a little smaller than you'd think.) Seriously, don't walk past it! read more

This is the best local business in town. The sandwiches and empanadas are homemade and the best we've ever had! The staff are wonderful and the outside setting is casual to relax and enjoy the sites after having fun at Howard Park. This is a must for any townie or visitor! read more

This place is such a treat. Ignore the fact that the menu is limited because the food is absolutely delicious. We stopped here before a lacrosse tournament for a quick bite. With only 21 reviews, you never know how accurate the star rating will be. They didn't disappoint. I ordered a chimi-steak sandwich, a beef empanada and a spinach and cheese empanada. They were all phenomenal. This was authentic Argentinian food. Next time we are in South Bend, I will make it a point to eat here. It was that good. read more

I don't know what I was expecting when I went to this place, but I am so glad that I went. My boyfriend and I got a medium steak with just about everything on it. It was delicious, I was expecting it to be spicy or overpowering but it was savory and absolutely worth every penny. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in town! Don't hesitate and try it out yourself, the food is great and the service. They even brought it out to our car when it was cold outside. Also the medium is good portion quality. We loved our lunch! We got the large steak sandwich and they cut it into 3 for us. We also got a variety of the empanadas - all delicious. They even threw in some alfajores for us after our meal. Very kind people and the food is delicious. We plan to come back for lunch some other day! Excited to try out their asado sometime too. read more

For all of us there are sandwiches we won't forget, this is the place. A little stand that serves up some of the best sandwiches I've ever had and it's in south bend, Indiana? Ok I'm here for this. Go here, try their delicious and simple menu with one of the best sauces ever created (chimichurri, a combination of beautiful acidity and fresh oil, it blows balsamic vinegar out of the water) and be happy! read more

A spur of the moment trip to Chimichurri turned out to be a great idea! I got two caramelized onion & cheese empanadas and my boyfriend got two beef empanadas. Definitely the best food we've had in a while. We ordered the chicken and steak sandwiches with everything. So delicious and full of flavor! Both meats were thin and tender. We also got the kids empanadas to share, and from the bites I sneaked they were divine. Pastry was flaky and the fillings were also really rich. At the end my husband and I were licking the chimichurri salsas out of the little cups. We can't wait to go back. read more

Tried Chimichurri for the 1st time today and they didn't disappoint. I had the cheese and caramelized onion empanadas the the churri salsa.. It was the right amount of cheese and onion, my husband had the steak sandwich and that too was good.. the alfajores is not very sweet at all and just the right amount of coconut. read more

Amazing! We were at ND for a swim meet and came across this place on Yelp. Can't say enough about it! We tried every variety of empanada and each was better than the last! Hot, fresh, and such friendly owners. And Oh. My. Gosh. those alfajores - we bought six and I wish we had more! We will be back whenever we are in the area. Just fantastic! read more

I got the chicken parm, which was a touch different from my usual of rigatoni noodles with marinara and meatballs (basically spaghetti & meatballs but with rigatoni instead) This location was clean and the employees were friendly. Restrooms were also clean when I used the women's room before leaving. Food was standard for what you'd expect from Noodles & Co. All the food was hot and came out quickly. What set this apart was the employees. Jake was the employee who tour order and he was great. He came by and asked how our meal was and if it was up to our satisfaction. It was. Due to such great service, I ordered a catering order for 20 and the catering was excellent too. Again, Jake was there and was super helpful. We will definitely continue to come back for the food, great service and clean restaurant!

We always order the chicken fingers box combo - it comes with 4 fingers, coleslaw, toast, and one cane's sauce. Add an extra if you like to dip! It's worth it!! Of course we love the chicken, it's fresh, REAL meat with the best crispy coating, but the coleslaw is also so yum!! My kids swap out the coleslaw for extra bread, at no extra charge but you won't catch me doing that because it's too good to pass up!! :) The Texas toast is also a win! If you are feeling adventurous, pull the toast open, pop in a tender with a few fries and a drizzle of sauce and you've made yourself an excellent little sandwich, full of delicious revelation! ;) We don't have one close to where we live yet, so we've driven the 1.25 hours on multiple occasions to hit up some Cane's! What I love about Portillo's is they have staff out there taking orders and processing payments to expedite the process. It can get busy during lunchtime but they do a great job of speeding people along. I ordered jumbo Chicago dog and an order of cheese fries. The fries were exactly how I remembered them. Crinkle cut with that slightly salted crunch on the outside and soft center. The regular size is enough for two people to share I can only imagine how large the large fries are. Add a cup of cheese sauce for dipping and these were probably my favorite fries I've had all year. Portillo's is still is my favorite place to get a Chicago hot dog!

Italian Beef purists will argue who makes the Italian Beef and you will hear of dozens of places…read morewith chains usually not mentioned. Since we don't live in an Italian Beef market (except for one who would not make the list) we are happy Portillos (a large chain) makes it so easy to take Italian Beef home. We usually buy 2 once pound frozen packs of Italian Beef. With it comes the gravy. Bread is one of the more critical aspects of a perfect Italian Beef. I once thought I could get it at home and was found I was wrong. A local Chicago bakery makes Portillo's rolls and I found I can get them at a Chicago grocery store for about one half what it would cost at the restaurant. Our freezer is stocked with Italian beef rolls to last perhaps another 5 pounds of meat or so. A one pound package is usually good for 2 dinners or several lunches. The trick is to have it a couple of times and go without for a while so that you crave it again. That way you will never get sick of it. Mishawaka is the closest Portillos' to Grand Rapids. When we're anywhere near here, we will always grab a couple of pounds to take home. Portillo's is definitely a favorite.

We like running through Farmers Markets whenever we are in a new city - and this time we had a…read morechance to visit the South Bend, Indiana Farmer's Market ... and you should too. This Market is a year-round affair, so you can get Fresh Fruits and Vegetables (FFV) during the summer and fall months right from local growers; in the off seasons they purchase out of state FFV and thus are still able to offer better produce than one usually finds in the big supermarkets. This particular Farmer's Market is enclosed - as it would have to be to be year-round in the Midwest. There are roughly 50 individual sellers in the entire setup - which is laid out as a pair of stacked boxes - the middle being washrooms and the like. All the stalls face inside in a double row ... the center portion of the boxes being where sellers can back up their trucks. There is a little diner restaurant on one side that offers a bunch of nice meals - breakfast food and when we were there pulled pork nachos (yum). There is also a bakery stall. They have parking on site, but it is just barely enough for the crowds the Market attracts. We liked this market because it really was mostly FFV and not a bunch of stalls selling candles and the like. There even are a couple of stalls selling meat - at least one fresh and one frozen. Give this place a try and you'll like it.

The restaurant was also quite chilly inside. All and all I don't think I've ever been this disappointed at a breakfast place. I don't see myself returning again and do not recommend this establishment.
