So this place is run by Elly, a lady who takes in dogs from around the Yakima area. She transports…read moreto only no kill shelter and makes sure every animal gets spayed/neutered since she wants to make sure all animals are taken care of. My boyfriend and I recently adopted a small dog from here. Elly was a delight to deal with and we're super happy with our new addition. Be prepared to fill out a long application if you want to go through this agency, but it's well worth it. I mean we were more than happy to drive to Yakima and back (from Seattle) for our ne little puppy. The adoption "donation" is super reasonable and the dogs all seem to be happy and well cared for! If you're looking for a new addition to your family, this just might be the place for you.

She has been the most sensitive, smart, cooperative dog I have ever experienced--a joy of a dog. She is apparently--according to DNAmydog--part Australian shepherd, Australian cattle dog, and poodle. But I also believe she has a bit of lab, or St. John's dog, or Newfie in her. I cannot begin to find the words to say how much she was loved. We had to euthanize her yesterday, Sept. 10, 2021. I cannot find the words with which to thank Barks R Us, or at least not the right words, because there are no words to convey my gratitude, not completely. She changed my life--and nothing can ever be quite the same again, now that I've lost her. Thank you for bringing her to me.

I volunteered with this sanctuary for years, sometimes nearly four days a week. Based on my…read moreexperience, as well as the experiences of many of my peers, we saw the sanctuary owner often prioritized media attention, money, and public recognition over the wellbeing and health of the animals themselves. There were countless times when multiple volunteers (sometimes six or more) agreed that an animal needed medical attention, yet those concerns were ignored and dismissed by Diane and management. This was incredibly frustrating for those of us who spent significant time directly caring for these loving animals and witnessing their day-to-day condition, to later see them suffer and pass away.

I loved that there were goats of different sizes and colors because I really did not know that can come out like that lol ... but, super duper cute time ! I will say that we could not find a bathroom nearby to wash our hands after the event, so thank gosh for the hand sanitizer in my car. I also would like if there were staff to walk around and check in on guests during the yoga session to see if they are comfortable or feel safe with the roaming goats. Parking was enough, but on the dirt road. Particularly messy for me because it was raining this entire day :(

I was told that the pup I chose was 1/2 Pit Bull & 1/2 Siberian Husky. They said that the man who…read moredropped off the litter had a female dog who got pregnant while he was at work & so he was dropping off the litter to be adopted. We are doubtful of any Pit Bull in our pup & there is certainly no Siberian Husky. We're pretty sure she's at least part Mastiff. That's a significantly different dog. I get that they were going on what they were told, but based on what our pup & her siblings looked like, I'd think that folks who specialize in dog care (especially the vet who fixed them) would have acknowledged the discrepancies in the breed. We didn't realize until we got her home, took her to our vet, & did some research that we had a dog that will likely be 20-40 pounds larger than we expected. We love her & we're so glad to have her, but I think this place is churning out the animals at such a rate that does an injustice to the dogs & their future owners. Also, while going through the registration process, I witnessed them have to clear up an error with labeling & tracking a kitten in their care. They'd sent one to the vet to be fixed but the vet discovered it had the same name of a kitten that had already been there. For a short while, they didn't know which one was at the vet. Errors happen but they seemed especially boggled by this. I will note, too, that I was impressed when I received a call from them a couple of weeks after our adoption because one of our pup's littermates had contracted Parvo. They wanted to ensure our girl was healthy & to warn us to be on the lookout for symptoms.

I've been to several shelters in the past year to adopt and it's been up and down. I went here on a Saturday after work and brought home my fur ever baby girl. I'm a proud happy fur mom . This is the happiest day of my life . I cried so many tears of joy when I was able to adopt my new female dog. I named her Sasha. Previously known as Oldsmobile. Sasha is the absolute sweetest girl ever. Sasha is what my heart needed. As a puppy she is very smart. Introducing to crate has been fairly well. Eating wow this girl can eat, run, do sprints around the house, yard and is super excited. I am too lol. Potty training is going very well in the morning she wakes me up with kisses to say she has to go and stands by door we go out. We have a routine. Totally recommend Homeward Per adoption to everyone. You will never be disappointed. The accept donations from you if your pet has passed away, been surrendered or you just want to donate, food, toys, supplies for dogs and cats. Well, I could continue to give praises all day. Gotta go mommy duty is calling.
