Be prepared to fill out a long application if you want to go through this agency, but it's well worth it. I mean we were more than happy to drive to Yakima and back (from Seattle) for our ne little puppy. The adoption "donation" is super reasonable and the dogs all seem to be happy and well cared for! She has been the most sensitive, smart, cooperative dog I have ever experienced--a joy of a dog. She is apparently--according to DNAmydog--part Australian shepherd, Australian cattle dog, and poodle. But I also believe she has a bit of lab, or St. John's dog, or Newfie in her. I cannot begin to find the words to say how much she was loved. We had to euthanize her yesterday, Sept. 10, 2021. I cannot find the words with which to thank Barks R Us, or at least not the right words, because there are no words to convey my gratitude, not completely. They take adoption very seriously and won't just adopt to anyone that "wow goes out of their busy way and life to fill out an application". Clearly the bitter people who have left bad reviews because they didn't get a response shows what kind of person you are and I'm happy yvpr didn't choose you to let their precious puppy go to. They know what they are doing. And to the other person, shame on you for giving them a bad review after they so graciously adopted out to a lovely pet. You obviously don't know or are just ignorant to the fact that the foster mom was just that to a homeless animal. You should be thankful she took care and volunteered her time to take in this poor animal to her home. Not demanding all this info etc. just be thankful for your new addition. It's sad to see how ungrateful some people can be. When you take a look at this persons reviews however you can see that clearly they are just bitter about their sad life in general and just complain about everything. We fill out an application and heard back right away, and their communication was excellent throughout the whole process. Any questions we had were answered promptly and they were very accommodating because we could not pick up our little angel right away. they definitely care about their mission and making sure that any pets find new homes and are very particular about the homes that the pets are placed in. My friend and I were trying to find a fun summer activity for the kids and brought up coming here, so we did. It's in a kind of random area in Renton, tucked away and definitely a hidden little gem if you don't already know about them. Parking lot is a tad small and only portable bathrooms are available, but they were clean and they had outdoor sinks for use. It's free to come here which is really cool, but definitely plan to bring at least $5 for animal food. Each pail costs that much, and all profits go back to keeping the farm running. You're able to buy shirts, stuffies, and some other small things as well. The staff are all really nice. They offered us a map which we kindly declined, as it's easy to just follow the path throughout the farm. You start off with looking at cute animals like different birds, bunnies, etc. They have a handful of mini horses that you're not supposed to feed as they can nip, but they were very social and literally came right to us. Of course we all had the most fun with the animals we could feed, which was mostly a variation of different goats. They have some of all sizes and they are all so sweet and have the cutest personalities. I also loved the highland cow, Daisy, but she kept her distance. We also loved the pigs! They also seemed so happy to see people and had their tails wagging. There is another fun area at the end that's essentially a petting zoo that you can walk into and hang out with the smaller goats while they play around and ask for food. One part that we didn't visit was at the far end that had some picnic tables and a small playground set. I'd say the max age for the playground was probably about 2, so I kept my kids away from over there, but it could be fun for the little ones! Overall this was a really fun find and really cool to see the work they're doing here. We'd definitely come back and support!

There were countless times when multiple volunteers (sometimes six or more) agreed that an animal needed medical attention, yet those concerns were ignored and dismissed by Diane and management. This was incredibly frustrating for those of us who spent significant time directly caring for these loving animals and witnessing their day-to-day condition, to later see them suffer and pass away.

BUT, its small pens for the dogs. it's got low ceilings it gets very loud in there. They need volunteers to take these dogs out for a day or a weekend to get break. Its heart breaking so many dogs they do a good job of adopting. The space is too small hope they can earn/raise money and grants for larger space for the larger dogs and a larger outdoor play space. Please support them, Time if you do not have donations there are puppies that lived there for 2 years, no way to live. 1/4 of dogs that are so great and passed over. Take a second look and understand the environment is so hard on them and the staff is also made up of people serving time and doing community service, one of them a 20-30 age range man had a bad energy and way filling up the dogs water and the dogs shied from him he seemed out of place I hope the vet people better, the dogs can't talk. Sasha is the absolute sweetest girl ever. Sasha is what my heart needed. As a puppy she is very smart. Introducing to crate has been fairly well. Eating wow this girl can eat, run, do sprints around the house, yard and is super excited. I am too lol. Potty training is going very well in the morning she wakes me up with kisses to say she has to go and stands by door we go out. We have a routine. Totally recommend Homeward Per adoption to everyone.
