Service was great. 1 star because my sandwich and my friends burger were burnt so bad it was inedible. When confronted with the food items we were told "they're college students.." After giving our order back, they offered us margaritas and made us pay for the sandwich anyways. Drink your margs literally anywhere else, preferably somewhere that can actually make a burger.

Fajita Nachos are super huge, enough for 2. The staff at the cashier are very nice and understanding since I'm Deaf. He even bring our food plates to our table. We definitely will go back again, from San Antonio Texas. Also margaritas are delicious!!!

Don't waste your money- There is a reason that there is no one at these tables. Spare yourself from the absolute worst food establishments I've had the displeasures of entering, don't go! Nachos were an absolute Horror show. Beans tasted old. Salsa bar was - well garbage sauce more than a salsa bar. This food should be on Gordon Ramsays Kitchen Nightmares The ownership should be ashamed. I told one of the employees how we felt about the food (she was nice) but had the unmitigated gall to tell me that "it's a college town" implying that's why the food was bad. Don't waste your money here. Ownership - y'all need an intervention.

My wife had visited years ago, and a close friend had recently recommended it, so it seemed like a good opportunity to give it a try. The building itself is beautiful. We parked in the rear lot and entered through the bakery, which immediately caught our attention. There was an impressive variety of pastries on display, and the kids were quickly informed they could each pick one out later if they behaved. The restaurant also has several colorful walls and decorative displays that make for fun photo opportunities and selfies. We were seated at a large table toward the back near the restrooms. Service was friendly throughout the meal and reasonably attentive despite the restaurant being busy. To drink, I ordered the jalapeño prickly pear margarita, while my wife chose a peach, coconut, and strawberry margarita. Both had excellent flavor. My wife's drink was especially memorable--it tasted like a cross between a strawberry margarita, peach bellini, and piña colada. The only thing missing was a little more tequila, as both drinks leaned more toward the sweet side than the spirited side. The chips were slightly thicker than I typically prefer but still enjoyable, and the salsa selection was excellent with a pleasant level of heat. The kids ordered bean and cheese tacos from the children's menu, and the restaurant happily substituted fruit for rice without any upcharge, which we appreciated. For our entrees, my wife ordered the vegetarian enchiladas while I chose the fajitas. The fajitas were good overall, though the meat portion felt a bit light and seemed stretched by a generous amount of green peppers. The rice, however, was excellent and one of the better components of the meal. Before leaving, we visited the bakery. The kids enjoyed their donuts and cookie, while I opted for a guava empanada that turned out to be one of the highlights of the visit. Overall, Casa Maria impressed me more with its atmosphere, bakery, and creative drinks than with the food itself. It's a beautiful restaurant with a fun family-friendly vibe, a strong bakery program, and some excellent margarita flavors. I'd gladly stop back for the pastries and drinks--and if they ever decide to be a little more generous with the tequila, even better.

Chips and salsa was tasty which was good bc it did take about 50 minutes for food to come out on a busy Saturday. Steak burrito was a little bland but still great portion / price and quite filling. We arrived on Thursday evening at 9:05pm to enjoy dinner after a long day of moving. Again we looked forward to some good food. We were told we would have to wait 5 mins for a table as they were cleaning them...ok no problem. 20 mins later still no table. Every empty table in the bar area was dirty, there were tables in the dining area available but many were still dirty. We asked what the delay was and were told again just another 5 mins as they were cleaning a table for us. It was chaos! No one was cleaning, and no communication, others that were waiting after us were leaving. A server came up to the hostess and said he was ready to leave....but guess he would go ahead and take on a group, he asked what was waiting she said I've got a 4 or a 2 top. He said I'll take the 2. The hostess took them to a booth that obviously could seat 4. After still waiting a few more minutes we asked why she sat them ahead of us. Her response was the same just another 5 mins were bussing the tables. She then went to the bar area where the bartender and a waitress were griping about the day (this conversation was audible as we stood there starring waiting for some sort of acknowledgment to which neither of them thought to stop and ask if they could help us) the hostess told them what had happened and started crying! Seriously crying the older waitress patted her on the back and she ran off to the bathroom! We asked was there a manager on duty, she told us he was a visiting manager helping in the kitchen. She then went on to say they had a rush at 9pm, ran out chips , and now the manager was not available. It would be at least another 5mins before they could sit us. We left. After 30 mins of waiting....tables still dirty and no one making an attempt, we didn't want to take a chance on our food. We did see one busser eventually cleaning the bar tables....overwhelmed, however servers just standing around not helping him, a total lack of teamwork, communication, or care. This location has issues. We heard someone else say they had come earlier in the week and it was the same problem. If I could give this location a negative 5 stars I would. I've been in the service industry....honesty, communication, and empathy would have a gone a long way. Why not just say something like, "we are understaffed, we ran out of supplies, and we're sorry but we can't seat you tonight as we won't be able to give you the dining experience we want you to have." We would have been disappointed, but understood.... but at least we wouldn't have wasted 30 mins of our time and now have to find another restaurant still serving at almost 10pm, again we arrived at 9:05, they close at 10 so it's not like we walked in at 5 mins to close. Thursday nights most restaurants close at 10, so finding another was a challenge that may not have happened had we just been informed. Chuys, you're better than this.

We decided to give it another try and the food was worse, the service was somewhat better, before we got the bill anyways. When we got the bill they overcharged us. The menu clearly shows desebrada chimichanga is $12.99 and on the bill they charged $12.99 and an extra $1.99. When I showed this to the server she tried to say that was for the guacamole, which was a total fabrication because a) the $1.99 was on the line that says desebrada and b) there was a charge of $1.25 on the line for guacamole. After not accepting this she said "I don't know" and was going to leave it at that until I asked to speak with a manager. The manager had ZERO customer service skills as she started by saying "what's your problem?" I patiently explained the overcharge again and she took out her phone and added the amounts on the bill, she didn't explain why she was doing this, but I assumed it was to check if the $1.99 was actually in the total, and it was. She then said "let me check the computer" and was gone for nearly 10 minutes. When she returned she said the computer is right the ground beef is $12.99 and the desebrada is an additional $1.99. She refused to match the price in the menu and walked away! We won't be back and suggest you don't waste your time, unless you like mediocre Mexican food, terrible service, being charged more than the menu states and having a Manager metaphorically flip you off!
