Now that they were reopened again after being closed down for health violations, they have good food and sushi. Spoons near the ice cream have chunks of food that have been harden. It almost looks like they just ran it over with water and considered it clean. Felt like they reached just the borderline of the health inspections in order to be in business again. My third time here at lunch time. The first 2 times, all I had was hot and sour soup, which was delicious, so today I decided to give the buffet a try. I got there right when they opened at 11:00, for what I expected to be freshly prepared and presented food. How wrong I was. First let me say that I didn't have the hibachi or the sushi; just the "regular" Chinese buffet area. The lo mein was over-cooked and chewy. Egg roll was frozen and mostly the wrapper with little filling. Spring roll was frozen and zero taste whatsoever. All the chicken entrees tasted the same (how did they do that?!). Spicy chicken, honey chicken, sesame chicken, salt and pepper chicken... same, same, same. Mongolian beef uninspired. Pork roast looked amazing, but was tasteless. Pork chop, tasteless. Truly not anything had any flavor. I ended up pouring soy sauce over my entire plate in an attempt to get SOME flavor out of the food. (That, in turn, caused me to leave the restaurant feeling as though I had just drunk a glass of liquid salt... which I sort of did!). But alas, there was one, and only one, item that I enjoyed. I work at Jetplex, so I tend to come to this Chinese Buffet way too much! It is very affordable for lunch, about $7.50 with tax, and the selection is incredible. It has a nice selection of sushi, fresh fruit, seafood even a Mongolian BBQ. My only critique is that they do not rotate the food selection. It is pretty much the same exact thing EVERY since time you go there, so it would be nice if they had some variety. But at least what they have is very good. The Spicy Chicken is my favorite and it is truly spicy, and I'm someone who eats Habaneros quite often. UPDATE - I wonder if they read my post, as they have changed a few (perhaps 10) of the dishes they put out for lunch. read more

Meh. I visited this establishment in the middle of the afternoon and that might have shaped my experience. The food all seemed like it had been sitting out for a long time and I had a difficult time finding anything that looked fresh. The noodles were actually not too shabby, but a little greasy. First off the food was good but, I don't appreciate the service and level of disrespect they have, I don't like how me and my boyfriend can't have privacy for 2 minutes to talk and eat without them coming up to us asking if we're done or ready for the check, the waitress came up to us before we were done eating and proceeded to take our food and walk off when it was directly in front of us without us telling her we were done or ready. Then she also proceeds to bring us the check when we are not ready and asked if I wanted my change back and I said yes she came back with the change and stood there for a good 10 seconds and said tip tip tip me, it feels like going and sitting down at McDonald's do not go here and plan on having a good conversation with privacy or even being able to eat because they will bother you constantly and be disrespectful the only reason I was not giving a tip is because of the disrespect even just first coming in and being rushed. read more

I go for the crab legs but they have been getting a little tight on the about of times you can go back for crab kegs but you can get plenty. They have a lot of great selections that are cooked right. You will not be disappointed. I try to go every other month or so. read more

It's NOT prepared in a Chinese classical style, whole (denoting bones) either steamed or fried but like catfish filets, key word, filet. The other Chinese dishes were over seasoned with 5 spice/star anise. If you like black licorice, you'll love this. Ok, finally the end of the meal, dessert. Stick with the Chinese donuts and sesame balls they are oretty good. The other safe bet, the ice cream, though here it would be better to do away with the 'customer, bend over into the freezer and hand dip yourself ice cream' and just buy 2 soft serve machines. The bakery goods, are frozen, then thawed and are flavorless caloric garbage. Dried out and flavorless. And seriously does ANYONE eat the pudding out of the big pans? The buffet is reminiscent of Vegas Vacation "now Clark, that's some mighty fine eating, leave some for me" We won't be back. I was visiting my folks a few days ago and i mentioned maybe we could go eat sushi somewhere. I knew where their was a good sushi house but they wanted to go here and they said the "sushi" was very good. Actually, it isnt sushi. It is just sushi rolls. They were alright. China Buffet has about everything anyone could possible hope for in its buffet....like most chinese buffets do. They have a hibachi grill which looked nice but i didnt get anything off of it cuz i was just in the mood for sushi but since they dont have sushi i just ate the rolls. They do, however, have awesome kimchi. It was very spicy and flavorfull. Most chinese buffets to not have kimchi so that is what saved this place for me. So if you want sushi dont come here. If you want a run-of-the-mill chinese buffet that is no too terribly bad then this place is for you. read more

I've eaten dinner here many times and I really think it's quite good. Service is fast and friendly. The buffet items have always been fresh and tasty and the new hibachi offerings are very good. The only thing I didn't care for was the sushi bar. That was probably because it was very "americanized" with lots of fake crab and cream cheese fillings. What can I say, this is an average chinese buffet... Would've only givin it 2 1/2 but 3 stars is what I gave it because of the Yelp system. That being said the hibachi is good, sushi is okay, shrimp was overcooked, fried plantans were soggy not crunchy, spicy chicken dry, steak with green peppers was soggy, fried rice was a little dry, egg rolls were a little mushy inside, spring rolls just were too hard... Most of these issues were probably because we ate around 230 or so, I suggest trying this buffet when they first open up, it will probably be more fresh! read more

We have visited occasionally for years, average buffet food selection and quality, always clean, servers very polite, fair value at $12 p/person on Saturdays. Never a bad experience before tonight, hostess/manager was extremely rude to my wife. Refused to allow her crab legs from buffet? Signage indicated only one serving per person, mistakenly insisted that I had 2 servings, I respectfully had not. Understand the pressure to control waste and abuse, but she should have addressed me and not inconsiderately embarrassed my wife in front of other diners. Though they have a wide variety of food, none of it seemed to be hot. The food was at room temperature. We stopped eating so we wouldn't get sick. My husband said the best thing he ate there was the sponge cake from the dessert bar. On a trip to Hunsville from California and passed this place on my way to my hotel. It was great. The food is comparable to most Chinese buffets in California at a more reasonable price. Service was great where the waitress checked several times during my lunch to make sure that I do not need anything. Food was freshly cooked and kept in clean and pleasant conditions. The food isn't bad, but the service is awful! They don't know how to tell time....when you walk into the door, they have a handwritten sign that clearly states the lunch buffet is until 3:30pm. My husband and I went there at 3:25pm and they told us that we would have to pay the dinner price if we stayed. That is false advertising...if the lunch buffet is until 3:30pm, then anyone that gets there before 3:30pm, should be charged the lunch price, not the dinner price. Although the food is decent we will never be coming back even since we've been coming here for about 2 years now and frequently at that. But today we found out the they don't honor their own discounts, coupons, and gift cards. Never used one before, but since we got one we decided to use it. Which resulted in a no we don't take those and or accept them. Which in turn left use asking why and also how long ago it was decided to not accept. Response turned in argument on their behalf which in result we were told that they pretty much use it as an advertising stunt which is understandable but don't honor what they offer. With closer inspection and answers from one of the servers the tips don't even go to the staff at all. The said tips go to the house and the servers make a measly 200-250$ a week paycheck under the table. If they scam like this to their own kind imagine what is skimmed off the food quality. Which makes me curious what would the result be after a health inspection. Needless to say not coming back again no matter how decent the food is. This is a buffet style restaurant. I took my wife and daughter there for a late lunch. There wasn't much food out at the time we arrived and what was left did not look very appetizing. So we ate some soup and spring rolls while we waited for fresh food to be put out. My daughter saw some crab legs being put out and came back to the table with a few. Almost immediately, the waitress came running to the table yelling at her that she couldn't have them, took them off of our table and put them back on the buffet. Apparently they wanted us to pay extra for them. Keep in mind I had not even been given my check yet. I have been there before with my family and had crab legs before and they have always been included in the buffet price. There is no signage to indicate otherwise. There was no excuse for an employee to yell at my daughter and embarass her. I really don't know what these people expected us to eat since most of the food had been sitting out for hours.
