Tandoori Chicken, spinach, Chicken Tikka Masala, cauliflower and peas, white rice and yellow rice.
    Kathy L.

Driving to Athens we passed a new Indian Restaurant. I am always on the hunt for good Indian cuisine. This restaurant serves a buffet each day for $13.95. If you like Indian food, please stop by. We were in a hurry and ordered buffet to go. The restaurant at noon was crowded. The buffet was stocked with foods so we decided buffet to go. I picked out chicken tikka masala, white rice, yellow rice with kidney beans, cauliflower, spinach, and tandoori chicken. We were given a container for dessert and naan was wrapped in foil. I used my dessert container to put onion and carrot chutney. Both chutneys were excellent. They tasted like the chutneys served at the Jordan Lane restaurant back in 2003. 5/5 The chicken tikka masala was excellent. It's the best I have eaten since the restaurant on Jordan Lane changed owners and managers and food quality went south. Kohinoor chicken tikka masala is fire! 5/5 The tandoori chicken was excellent. As was the spinach, cauliflower, and rices. Truly everything was overwhelmingly delicious. If I had eaten in the restaurant, I would have eaten way more food than i shI haven't had good Indian food in a very long time. By the way my definition of good is not too salty, not too sweet, good ratio of meats and/or vegetables to sauce, and not flaming hot. A little spice is good. Vindaloo spice when I ask for mild or medium isn't good. This visit was so tasty I am looking forward to my next visit there. They have the best Indian food around in my humble opinion. I want to go back before new owners or managers take over and possibly change the quality. This visit was definitely 5/5.

2nd trip to buffet w/desert & mango lassi drink

This was my second visit and It was a delight as much as the first, the whole place is clean and neat, decor and music is nicely paired also. The price for buffet was more reasonable than other Indian buffets and the quality was as much and more valuable and delicious. I was pleasantly impressed of my ability to eat healthy and have a vast variety of Indian cuisine. The wait staff was quick to fill my water and remove an empty plate as I was on my next trip to the buffet to repeat the delicious finds and visit the fruit & dessert also provided on the buffet. I also enjoyed that the mango lassi yoghurt drink came with the buffet at no added cost. May i suggest you come and try, I believe you will enjoy it.

Best Indian food in town. No question. The restaurant was super clean. The Indian food is authentic and I know because my best friend is Indian. Amazing!

This location was convenient for everyone and the prices were so reasonable! The staff were always kind and friendly and we could relax, visit, and open gifts and cards for a couple of hours with no issues. We never felt rushed. The interior is cozy and the building is aging; however it still has charm especially with the endless modern, flat roofed, urban restaurants popping up all over Madison County. We typically got the buffet. I enjoyed their Moo Goo Gai Pan, Beef with Broccoli, dumplings, and hot and sour soup. The buffet always had something for everyone and our non-MSG Birthday Club members never experienced headaches or other MSG related issues here. Thanks for years of memories, China Gourmet.

I gave three stars but I am still not sure that rating is deserving. So for the good: 1. The individual servers bringing the meat around were very nice and made sure we had plenty. 2. The various forms os steak had great flavor and taste. 3. Food/salad bar was well rounded and included all the right items. It was a nice touch with some over the top items as well Now for the bad: 1. Our waitress seemed to care less about us. No offer on refills for drink. 2. The offer for desert was in the form of passing by. No bringing out the tray and explaining the various types. 3. At one point our waitress disappeared for over 30 minutes. The real bad- 1. In speaking with the manager we received a half hearted apology. 2. We had an offer from Texas de Brazil that was not honored. 3. When talking with the manager she gave some half hearted excuse but let's be honest she could have done more as she was the manager? Overall the food was good but the environment and service was horrible. Not sure I recommend this place as Huntsville has several nicer speciality steak houses.

Lightly breaded not really seasoned in my opinion but cooked almost perfectly. It was a pretty display how they batter and fry the skeleton but the sauce that came with it compensated for the lack is seasoning on the fish. General Tso's chicken never disappoints. Classic Chinese dish over sticky rice was really good and the broccoli was steamed to a great texture. Overall good experience here. Never had a bad meal or service from this place.

We were promptly seated and had our drink orders taken (they serve Coke products and alcohol; no Coke Zero sadly). The menu was pretty large but they don't offer a lunch portion on weekends which was unfortunate but fine. The adult meals came with 2 sides and miso soup, kids meals featured one side and miso soup. I ordered Beef Bulgogi with cabbage kimchi and cucumber kimchi, wife ordered Pork Belly with bean sprouts and fish cakes, kids ordered Beef Bulgogi Fried Rice and Chicken Frid Rice both with Japchae noodles. The miso soup was a little disappointing - the soup cup was filled a third of the way up and only had a few slivers of green onion; no tofu or seaweed or anything else. It was the smallest, saddest miso soup I have tried. Sides were brought out before the test of the meal -- save them for when the food comes out, you will need them to cleanse your palate and break up the meat overload. Sides were pretty good. The main course was served and the food looked beautiful! Unfortunately the food was very bland. The pork belly lacked salt (don't ask me how this is possible) though the onions they came with were nice. The beef Bulgogi was pretty bad, had flavor but seemed dry and it was just a pile of meat that got old quickly. Not a lot of complex flavors. My youngest kid's chicken fried rice was bad -- the chicken was extremely dry and lacked flavoring. She loved it; but she also doesnt want to use ketchup or any sort of flavoring on her meat usually so that tells you the flavor profile here. The waitresses we had we both very nice, but they weren't attentive. My glass of water was low and I got no refill - no one at my table was ever asked if they wanted something else to drink. One of my daughters used the rest room and complained that the floor of the women's restroom had a lot of water on it. She siad when she say down on the toilet water squirted out from around thr seal and when she stood up it sucked back in. She specifically asked me to mention it and and she's 11 years old and never complains about bathrooms so that was weird. Food cost $72 after taxes for 2 adult meals, 2 kid meals, 3 drinks and no apps or booze. Not worth it. If you think the food looks good, its post production. I really hate to rank this place so low but the wife and a I both agreed that it's a solid 2 stars and that we wouldn't return here. I enjoyed most of the other korean restaurants around town and have traveled quite a bit internationally and across the US for context; this place was not good.
