Absolutely love going here after a tough day. The food is so good and the staff, kind. I love how relaxing the environment typically is.

It has been years since I have been to this place. I am not sure why since it is relatively close to my house. I guess it is because we have a couple of go to Chinese favorites in the Fargo-Moorhead area. I came at 2pm on a Saturday and expected the restaurant to be slow. I was surprised to see it was half full. "That is a good sign", I thought. Overall the food was hot to warm and the buffet was well stocked with a variety of choices. I waited only a few seconds until a worker charged me nearly 17 dollars for the buffet, which includes a drink. This seems to be the going rate in the FM area for a Chinese Buffet. 1) The Sweet and Sour Soup was fairly flavorful despite its somewhat water downed look. I was not a fan of the use of celery vrs bamboo shoots however. **Note it would be helpful if they put the soup bowls next to the soup** 2) The fried rice was loaded with chunks of white onions which, to me, overpowers the flavor so I passed on that. 3) The Chicken and broccoli was well cooked but somewhat bland but not tasteless. The other dishes I sampled like sweet and sour chicken and their house chicken, were not bad but nothing that would make me think, "Oh. I need to go back there". The restaurant was fairly clean but dated. Never once did an employee clean the used items from my table. I had to eventually put them on a neighboring table full of used dishes from a group that had left already. Overall this is a typical budget Chinese buffet. Had I had the option I would have given it 3.5 stars. Would I come back? Sure, if someone asks me. However I think I will stick with my current favorites . If you are debating giving this place a shot. I suggest you do and post what you think! read more

We called in an order for pick up for 4 people, asked about the menu and the best way to order...the restaurant employee said they had given us the best options for our order. When picking the order up, the bill was $85. We asked if that was correct and they said yes. When we got home and went online to the menu, there are combo options that were not offered and more cost effective ways to place the order. The food was marginal at best. I will not be giving another dollar to this establishment. For that price, I could have fed my family 3 different meals at Panda Express with far better food. Never again. read more

Not worth the cost. When you pay almost $15 for a buffet you expect at least warm food and options. They were out of a ton of items and had no rush to fill them. And the food when you looked had steam coming up but when you actually sat down to eat it it was barely warm. I will drive into Fargo from now on I get warm food for my money at least there. read more

My wife and I were there a few weeks back. The workers were friendly but definitely understaffed. They had two little girls trying to get an employee's attention to help us out. The price was definitely too high, we paid 30 bucks for two people and the food was not fresh. I had one plate and called it a night, afraid I would get sick. I ordered takeout from China Buffet during COVID, having never been there before. I love Chinese food and wasn't sure what to expect. They were quick to prepare my order, had a very safe, contactless pickup method (they use a clear pass-through drawer to give you the food without you even entering the establishment). The food was packaged well and stayed hot over ten minutes later when I returned home to eat it. I ordered the orange chicken; it had great flavor and I was impressed with the amount of food I received for ~$12. I'll have leftovers for tomorrow and will get to experience it all over again. I will definitely continue to get pickup there in the future and visit once COVID has passed. read more

5-19-13 8:50 p.m. I MENT TO POST & FORGOT. SORRY :-) Arrived 80 minutes before closing. 1/2 the buffet food was gone or dried up. I paid FULL price yet I'm only offered 1/2 of what I paid for. 5 minutes after we arrived they took down the dessert & sushi bar. They were vacumming, cleaning too. 30 minutes before closing they took down the buffet lines & while my daughter was away from our table an employee come over & took her plate of food without asking if she was finished, which she wasn't. We left 30 minutes before the China Buffet closed. I feel that if you advertise being open till 10 p.m. you should have the same amount of food & be set up the same as any other time during the day. This buffet was horrible! The food was barely warm. I seriously think it was a health hazard. I tried a wide variety and nothing, I repeat, NOTHING was freshly cooked. It was all barely warm. And there was 10 to 12 tables in the restaurant eating too. I mean it wasn't like I was alone. I will not be going back. Not I actually installed yelp on my phone to write this review. STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT!!! FOR YOUR HEALTH!!! Just my opinion. But seriously, there are rules for a reason. And I know that food was not being kept hot so they could leave it out longer and save money. But someone is going to get hurt. And you don't want it to be you. Or your kids. So stay away. read more

What I find very funny about this place is, they try and extort you to finish eating the crappy food that they put out. They will charge you extra for leaving the cold, tasteless, and soggy food you did not eat? The staff is uncaring and rude. This is one buffet to make sure you don't go to. read more

Came here because I had a coupon and I was feeling too lazy to cook. The coupon also included the words sushi and I thought "yum" I will give it a try. Decor was sad and falling down in spots but come on, dives can have some great food so lets give it a go. Food was typical of a Chinese buffet, but not anything special and in some cases pretty gross looking. For example the "sushi" was really just California style rolls that looked like they had been out for more then a day. The dessert section included a chocolate fountain...sounds good but there was some hygiene issues that kept me from that as well as the ice cream cooler. Weird right?! No soft-serve ice cream, they want you to dip your own ice cream from a cooler. That to me (hygiene-wise) is worse then sharing a bowl of peanuts at a bar with strangers. Well, I can now say we've crossed this place off our return list. We have been returning about once every 4 months for over two years (7 or so more visits after the initial two reviews I did before), and the quality has gone down. We went for lunch on a Saturday and were first shocked by $35 bill for 2 adults and 1 child! Way out of line for what we got and can get elsewhere in town. Our child had at most 1 regular plate of food, both adults had a total of two plates, and not topped or overfilled either. The first thing is the greasy chicken from the sweet and sour chicken to it mixed in with the other dishes --it dripped out of the breading when touched. The house special chicken (in water) had a very strange flavor; almost baby powder-esque. The garlic shrimp was horrendously salty we couldn't make ourselves go back for more (to justify the high price paid a bit more) but forced ourselves to eat what we had due to the warnings at every table of being charged additional for any wasted food. The Sushi was good as usual, but everything else was just 'meh'. There was nothing out special to justify the extra charges compared to a weekday like some other places do (bringing out lobster, crab, etc...) The grease and who knows what else made 2 of us not feel well later in the afternoon/evening. Even the cream cheese wontons barely had any filling in them, by far the least from any similar buffet in the 3 city area. read more

Best Chinese buffet in town. There's always enough traffic so that the food is fresh and when it's not it soon gets refilled. The staff is helpful and nice, they stay out of the way until needed and then appear out of nowhere and clean your table. Always a good experience eating here, you'll never go home hungry but you will be satisfied. read more

Great balance of Chinese food (a lot of good chicken and shrimp dishes), sushi, and fried foods. Their crunchy crab roll is my favorite sushi. Dining in is the best value, buffet takeout is expensive for sushi. They have great ice cream selections for dessert. read more
