We shared the crab ragoons (comes with 6 but we ate some before taking picture). I had the Dragon & Phoenix (general tso's chicken with shrimp and brown sauce). Your typical Chinese take out. Don't expect more. But I'd give it 3-stars when comparing to other Chinese take out places. The portions are huge. We ordered a beef and broccoli combination plate - $6.99 (came with half the amount of meat and broccoli, fried rice, and two crab rangoons, which we asked for instead of an eggroll), and kung pao chicken with peanuts - full order $8.29 (which came with double the amount of the main entree as the combination plate and fried rice on the side). The portions were huge (this is basically why I'm giving 3 stars), taste was normal and what we expected. However, I wish the kung pao chicken had more peanuts. I probably averaged one peanut every 4 bites, and I wish I had at least one peanut in each bite. We also ordered a large order of wonton egg drop soup. The 2 dishes plus the soup lasted us about two meals, with a few bites leftover. Definitely worth the price for an average Chinese take out. Unfortunately, they didn't give us a sweet and sour sauce for our crab rangoons. Not sure if it usually comes with it, but you should probably ask in case they forgot it. Would have been a lot better. The wonton egg drop soup was okay. The egg drop soup part tasted like normal egg drop soup, but the taste of the wonton's weren't so great. I guess I'm used to shrimp wontons and this one was beef or something. Anyway, I'd come again if I wanted Chinese take out for the huge portions. read more

My friends and I decided to order chinese and relax/avoid the rain. I had the szechuan pork, which was flavorful and spicy (I got to choose the spice level) and the pork eggrolls were good. However, the chicken cashew and the beef with broccoli was just ok. Each of the dishes were put into different size containers/was not consistant. Not a very clean place. Mice poop throughout the establishment on floors under air/heating vents, mold growing on ceiling and walls, dirty toilets, nasty bathroom. Nasty odor coming from drink orders. Not a very sanitary environment. Food was disgusting I got sick after eating. Health and safety hazard. Will never step foot in this place again. Please to the public for your health and safety don't eat here. The biggest mistake I made was not taking photographic evidence proving what I saw. It was gross. Never again. I had a bite and the Mongolian beef was fat no meat the rice was a black blah that had peas and corn, a friend recommended and I'll never let her suggest anything lol. Thank you but no! Ordered take out online - super cheap for a family of four. I was late picking up our food, but the hostess assured us the food still would be hot. She was right! Their tofu is excellent: nice-sized chunks smothered in traditional Chinese sauce. Bright and crunchy vegetables. The vegetable fried rice had lots of veggies, not just peas and carrots. The General tso sauce had just the right amount of heat. Staff was super friendly! When we are near the north part of town, I would order again! read more

The most mediocre food I've ever had. Not bad, but certainly not good. I ordered the General Tso's, my husband got Orange Chicken, and our son had the Sweet and Sour Chicken. We ordered the crab rangoons, which were only cream cheese... nothing special. The fried dumplings AND sauce were so bland! Everything was really boring and had little taste. This is the BEST Chinese delivery in town. Hands down. Had brilliant delivery service this evening. The food is consistently delicious. Having lived in the QC's for 3/4 of my life, I've tried all of their 'specialty' offerings and have never been disappointed. Even the delivery guy is very nice, extremely polite which is incredibly refreshing in this day & age! They have willingly catered to different requests from out-of-town guests that I've hosted without missing a beat and with my guests' compliments. If you want tasty and hot delivery then this is the place!!! However, take note: this is not a "fine" dining experience. I've read the reviews and while there are certainly better Chinese restaurants wherever you may live, like Minneapolis for example, remember this is a casual dining and delivery restaurant. Dined in at China Cafe yesterday. It's a regular Chinese place, with a full menu. We got the sesame chicken and the general tso's chicken which were both really good. The dumplings and crab rangoons were very good as well. We were served very quickly and I was not disappointed. read more

Perfect for my tastes. The first time I came here, I was so surprised by the lack of saltiness/grease in the dish that I couldn't finish it haha (they also have huge servings, yay for leftovers!). China Cafe definitely has less flavor than other restaurants, but it's because they proudly use 0 MSG (as proclaimed on their menu)! Hence why they seem to have little flavor. I loved it though because the taste of the ingredients on their own comes through, and you won't feel greasy afterward. We used to eat there almost every weekend. The food there WAS GREAT! It was our "Go-To-Restaurant! Not anymore! The Mongolian Beef was grey, watery and tasted awful. The Lo Mein was equally disappointing and the egg rolls were inedible. (We were supposed to get 3 and only got 2 of them, just as well) Don't waste your money there! It used to be run by two older ladies. We haven't seen them there in a long time since the food quality started to dive. And they have the nerve to post signs that the prices of their food have increased. We'd be willing to pay the higher price for food like it used to be cooked and served. This is far from China anything. I don't know how they can have so many Asians working there and come out with the saddest fried rice I have ever eaten in my life. It looked like someone just murdered it with a bottle of soy sauce and it still came out tasting really bland. I mean, yeah portions are pretty big, but it's just big servings of the most UN-Asian food I've ever wasted money on. Normally I don't make a big deal of the bad cooking of others, but for the lost lambs who think THIS is Chinese food...the fortune cookie you got with your bill is probably the closest you'll ever get here. We have been loyal customers of China Cafe since they opened years ago. We have, for the most part, been happy with the quality of the food and service. We have had dinner delivered to our home many times over the years. However, the last 3 times that we have purchased from them, the quality has gone way down hill. Tonight was the last straw. Along with having to pay the outrageous charges from Door Dash, which was 25 minutes late, and the driver was rude, cursing like a sailor, and complaining constantly about being over booked, The crab rangoon was totally over cooked almost burned, the egg rolls were literally dripping with grease and over cooked as well, and of course, since it was so late, the 3 orders of fried rice were cold. On top of that, there was only 1 container of sweet and sour sauce and NO soy sauce. When I called to complain about it I got the now typical response "you have to take it up with door dash" and was told I was "welcome" to not use their services again. Hmmm?? Don't expect I'll hear back from them, for sure I don't intend to frequent there in the future. read more

Since I was in the middle of nowhere America I decided to order the simplest and most American Chinese food possible (Wonton Soup and Sweet/Sour Chicken). The wontons were undercooked. The dough tasted like a paste. The broth was fine. The chicken was so wet from condensation that it was difficult to eat. After a 14.5 hour drive, I just wanted a nice easy meal. glad I did not read the reviews below prior to trying China cafe for lunch. evidently they are doing a much better job now, good for them. the parking spaces are many , but they are 15 inches too narrow. Three lunches here in five weeks and all went well, we ate in, and the floors, chairs, tables were all clean, and there were always a half dozen customers already there. the wait staff were prompt , courteous and friendly. we sent one entree back as it was room temp when served , they tossed it and made a whole new plate . ( did NOT just micro wave re heat it ) the lunch specials were priced correctly for the amount of food and the food quality. and they did not have the music blaring, that's a big plus. I had the beef and broccoli. The broccoli was good but there was something wrong with the beef! It was chewy and stretchy! The fried rice was dark brown and had one pea in it! I've been craving chinese, chicken low mein specifically, something fierce and couldn't take it anymore. I'd heard good things about this place from someone at work so we decided to take a chance on it. We ordered steamed dumplings, chicken low mein and sweet sour chicken. The low mein was great. Not too greasy, full of vegetables and decent sized pieces of chicken. It hit the spot and took care of my craving. The steamed dumplings were disgusting and I was so disappointed. They're almost watery, if you can imagine that, and just a really bland taste of disappointment is left in your mouth. The boyfriend said his sweet and sour chicken was okay but I mean, how can you mess that up? The service was good. Both servers were really friendly and didn't mind answering my annoying questions. I was given the wrong item for carry out. I called and explained their mistake and expected them to make my original order. Living 10 miles away, at the least, I expected an apology. Nope. The manager said it was NoT their mistake and that I should take the wrong order back to them. She said their receptionist always repeats the order back so it was my fault. Whhhhhhaaat?
